In the ER I often need to get a patent loaded ASAP, and with Medhost EDIS, I am able to quickly import their information and get to work! It updates quickly, and we never have any issues with it! Pros It is simple! So easy to get signed in and working. No hoops to jump through. The information is fairly easy to locate and managing patients isn’t difficult at all. Cons The user interface is a bit clunky. It looks a little dated, but the performance is great. It does what it needs to do, and I don’t think that the way it looks impacts it’s use. Pros I like that Medhost allows you to view patient data from other clinicians, so it's easy to stay updated on any given patient. Cons You cannot customize form/note templates and cannot use shortcut keys to enter a smart phrase (like in Epic), so charting is not as efficient as it could be. Review Source FB Frank B. July 12, 2023 5.0 MY overall experience with medhost has been excellent. The thing it's very easy to understand. Pros Medhost is easy to use and easy to understand it. Sometimes it is frustrating when you cannot edit something to put your notes. Pros It is easy to find patients by date of birth and to delete a encounter. Cons The least I like about this app is that you cannot delete a test that was accidentally added on to the account. The tests that are cancelled are still on the account and sometimes confuses staff as to why the tests were cancelled. Sometimes it does not let us edit and put our notes as to why something was cancelled. Review Source PF Patrick F. Some facilities that I have worked at well have two seprate EMR/EHR. Cons In order to learn how to use the software you must be patient and not get click happy. Click happy is where you just start clicking every icon before you understand what each one is for. If you can learn patients you will see how easy it is to actually find what you are looking for in the chart. Pros I like that Medhost is easy to learn and user friendly. Cons Loading times of information usually takes long. There are much worse products on the market. Pros Simple to learn and use. Orders are completed in just a few clicks. Cons The way our hospital had it set up, no one could set up their own personalized templates. All templates had to go through the IT department. It does not connect well with radiology systems. Therefore a separate program must be launched in order to view x-rays. It takes awhile for laboratory results to load. And you can’t go straight to blood bank results. You have to wait for the chemistry/hematology/micro results to load first before clicking on the blood bank link. Pros med host is easy to understand, as a new employee it was easy for to get the hang of it. Cons it is very inconvenient and takes a while to load at times, due to stats and time draws.
