Comments: I'd like to see new innovation that is easy to install and makes use easier. The problem is that we paid the required amount for it and now all these years later its about the same. And I dont want to pay more for a different software.

Pros: It is reliable. It's been around forever and will probably always be around and you know what your getting. It starts every time and does what it needs to do.

Cons: The software takes some time to get use to. With our new dental assistants that come in there is a learning curve. Not very intuitive.

Pros: It is intuitive to use. It provides a place for perio charting, images, charting, notes. Overall it is a a practice management software.

Cons: It locks if someone else has the chart open. Support time waits can sometimes be 30-45 minutes. It doesn┬┐t integrate with Dexis products. Each computer has to be changed individually to show the same charting. No pop up note features in auto notes.

Comments: We wish we went with Dentrix.

Pros: Robust system with functionality that covers everything necessary in a dental office. No ongoing fee for basic system Interfaces with key third party platforms like SolutionReach.

Cons: The system user interface is very backwards. '90s "Clinton era" style user interface. Every additional service comes at an additional charge. You want to add electronic billing? Extra charge. Want to add automated appointment verification? Additional charge. Customer service is extremely onerous to contact and to work with.

User friendly but limited because we can not link locations the greatest.

Comments: To find a way that several locations can be linked so that we do not have to use an RDP access. This is not a secure and efficient way for us to do this.

Pros: It is easy to learn so we can train staff fairly quickly on the software. It is fairly easy to troubleshoot as well.

Cons: End of day reports are not always accurate when we print them. There are to many ways to do things.

Pros: -Streamlined look. -all integrated functions (imaging software, camera, etc) -has instant messaging for operators to front communication -great help from help desk people

Cons: -proprietary equipment recommended for better integration -cost...it was expensive when i got it, annual fee to maintain system -i wish we could get custom reports

Eaglesoft was one of the first softwares I used in the dental field, and I found it to be very useful!

Pros: Eaglesoft is easy to learn how to use and the navigation the software is intuitive. The graphics are simple and it makes it easy to understand what you are doing.

Cons: There wasn't much I found that I dislike about Eaglesoft. If anything people could say the graphics are little outdated, but that doesn't affect the functionality of the program.

Comments: Customer service sometimes takes getting thru to multiple people to resolve issue

Pros: navigating from one program to the other is very easy. Been using many years. Looking forward to newer version.

Cons: when someone else in my office runs end of day operating system seizes up if I am in eagle soft and actively working.

Eaglesoft is still very easy to use and performs well with digital systems and confirming software.

Pros: The ease of use and flow of software are the primary pro's for Eaglesoft. It seems to transition well with the digital x-rays software.

Cons: The software has been slow with quality updates due to it becoming free for dental offices. Dentrix seems to be surpassing eaglesoft in updates.

Overall: Easy to train employees on updates and enhancements.

Comments: This program works in the front but is so complicated to move around in the clinical section. Charting is impossible. To take intraoral pictures is a joke. 3-4 button pushes for each picture you take. Unable to write referral letters. Takes longer to do the computer than just using the old fashioned pen and paper. I would not and am not recommending this program to any new dentists. On the flip side I am a small practice. This program has just way to much. Maybe it is better for a larger practice where you actually have the staff to learn it on their own. Eagle soft help is lousy.

Pros: Notes can be made quicker by setting up templates. Turns on every morning. Actually I have a difficult time finding any pros

Cons: Too complicated to get simple things done. Poor customer support when it came to setting up the program. I am still waiting on help from the representative. Charting stinks. Unable to use it. Do not advise using the Schick system either. Poor quality pictures compared to the major competitor. I could go forever listing the programs poor qualities. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL

Comments: Eaglesoft has been in our office for approximately 6 years. It has a lot of whistles and bells but is not easily navigated in my opinion.

Pros: Images are very nice. The customer service is really good once you get them. You get the idea that every possibility has been covered (there's a downside to negotiability).

Cons: Expanded drop down choices are available, but not in the most helpful areas often requiring a close out and search. Hitting the "return" button in, for instance, the notes on the treatment plan cause the window to close rather than advance a line- the whole notes section must be negotiated using the up and down buttons. It is likely ideal for a data entry person, but for dental team members on the go looking up items and entering notes it is cumbersome.

Recommendations to other buyers: Basically, it's very Deep, but not Intuitive. Consider something cloud based.

Overall: This software is not as easy to learn and understand as others I have used. It is not terrible by any means but for people who are not computer friendly, this isn't the software for them.

Recommendations to other buyers: Advise you to really study and practice the software. Get proper training

Pros: It's a powerful, all in one tool, that does most things well. Imaging and health records are excellent.

Cons: Insurance billing is a bit painful, and it's difficult to customize in depth.

Overall: Eaglesoft is a strong tool, but it has a steep learning curve since its used for everything in a dental practice. It is a powerful tool, and does things well, but its not easy. Licenses are particularly expensive as well.

Pros: Very customizable but sometimes even that isn't for the best. I am able to assign colors to each provider and employee but I cannot get the software to stop prompting us to "change to prescription paper" or "change to regular paper" when printing. Too many auto pop-up all over the software that are not able to be turned off.

Cons: Treatment planning is a nightmare. We're a big office and present major treatment needs. It is not uncommon for our treatment plans to include 20+ services and this software does not make that easy. Very tedious to enter and prioritize. The software will not auto correct posterior and anterior fillings based off the tooth #. Also, there is no reason I would not want to write clinical notes and treatment plan at the same time, it doesn't make since for those features to be in 2 different places within the software. Also, adding patient family members has to be done very delicately, especially when they have Insurance.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look elsewhere. I used Dentrix for 10 years before making the switch to eaglesoft and I've regretting every day of it.

Pros: Ease of use for chair and provider and scheduling. Text, smartphone and patient education recare.

Cons: This product provides users with filters for campaigns, embezzling security features and highlights and updates UCR codes. There is no downside.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at the encryption and money finder features these are very important.

Pros: The software itself is organized. Everything is very user friendly which makes navigating the software a plus. That being said, it is easy to train someone on this program as well. I was taught on Dentrix, and the switch over to Eaglesoft was simple because it is user friendly.

Cons: Not everything is included in the price. It is a little on the higher end, especially to do updates. In other software programs, they charge you a single fee and that includes things such as the card reader, the signing pad that lets your patients signature go right into the program, etc etc. In Eaglesoft, all of these features are an extra charge. Customer support is not the greatest with Eaglesoft either. That is another extra fee to get that help.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a good program. We are a smaller office, and it works well. If you are looking for a program that has more features, i may suggest venturing elsewhere.

Comments: EagleSoft is incredibly powerful especially in the clinical area and the systems that integrate with patient billing and communication. Its user friendly and they have and endless library of on-demand training for every little thing you could imagine.
The insurance policy profile is seriously lacking. You can enter the basic coverage of a plan, but all plans have exceptions and there is no way to allow for those. Support is great, they are available via email, live chat, telephone, and virtual service call.

Pros: It is easy to schedule patients and it is very customizable.

Cons: Treatment planning is very difficult and it is also hard to apply secondary insurances to claims, it usually doesn't do the processing correctly and we have to change it afterward.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that treatment planning is easy so that the docs do not have to worry about it constantly.

Comments: Our office has been using Eaglesoft since 2003, so I do speak with experience.

The Pros:
The customer Service is usually pretty good. But it is over the phone, or if you are able to get on the internet, they will do many things that way. Most of our problems have been fixed this way.

Lots of features. I mean Lots. Many of them we don't use, but they are available. You can send emails, and texts, have patients check in on a dedicated monitor, patient education videos, digital integration is smooth, Charting, billing, etc-it's all there.

Cons:

They have lots of features, but most of them have additional costs. Online claims- charge, text/email-charge, letter program-charge, automatic billing-charge. They offer ongoing support, but you are being charged for that each month too. Just to have updates, and the basic program is about $200 monthly.

There are still gaps in the basics-for example, you should be able to enter waiting period information-can't, enter if sealants are basic or preventative-can't, how many cleanings are allowed per year and if it's 2/year or every 6 months and alert you if you are scheduling something not covered-doesn't. There are a couple of other things like this, still not there.

There are always glitches when a new update comes out. I always wait several months, cuz they always have to send an updated version out later.
