Pros It has good customer support, as long as you are paying for it. If not, I am not sure how well you would function. They do updates almost yearly. Cons The update process can be onerous and time consuming. It can take hours to update an office. Also, the chart graphics are just ordinary. Nothing to get excited about. " March 13, 2018 5.0 Pros Scheduling patients is very easy, I can set the type, length of visit, and preferred provider in just a few seconds. The icons are very easy to see and navigate. Cons The charting can be a bit difficult to use for new beginners. There are a lot of drop downs and unless you've practiced it could take a while to learn. Pros What I like most about this software is that if you hover over the patient's name on the schedule, it tells you a lot of info about the patient including his age, medical conditions, etc. Very easy to view radiographs with just 1 click of a button. And to top it off, EasySoft actually has patient reminders built into it. So what a plus! Cons The layout of EagleSoft looks pretty "old school" and could use an improvement in that aspect. Everything is very user friendly which makes navigating the software a plus. That being said, it is easy to train someone on this program as well. I was taught on Dentrix, and the switch over to Eaglesoft was simple because it is user friendly. Cons Not everything is included in the price. It is a little on the higher end, especially to do updates. In other software programs, they charge you a single fee and that includes things such as the card reader, the signing pad that lets your patients signature go right into the program, etc etc. In Eaglesoft, all of these features are an extra charge. Customer support is not the greatest with Eaglesoft either. That is another extra fee to get that help. The X-rays. are clear and have good quality. I like the dental charting format and split screen option to view. Top notch in my opinion in functionality and format. Cons I really don't have a con with this system as I am pleased, if I had to pick something I would say it is more expensive and is pricey. It seems to transition well with the digital x-rays software. Cons The software has been slow with quality updates due to it becoming free for dental offices. Can save credit card information for reference for auto payments. Cons The ledgers are tricky to read. Must apply several filters to see which dates of service payments are applied to. Pros Eagle Soft was easy to use with charting the patients treatment, also the scheduling was easy and it had different color settings for appointments and for treatment. CFO Used the software for: ### "Basic items are still lacking" March 26, 2014 3.0 Our office has been using Eaglesoft since 2003, so I do speak with experience. The Pros: The customer Service is usually pretty good. But it is over the phone, or if you are able to get on the internet, they will do many things that way. Most of our problems have been fixed this way. Lots of features. I mean Lots. Many of them we don't use, but they are available. You can send emails, and texts, have patients check in on a dedicated monitor, patient education videos, digital integration is smooth, Charting, billing, etc-it's all there. Cons: They have lots of features, but most of them have additional costs. Online claims- charge, text/email-charge, letter program-charge, automatic billing-charge. They offer ongoing support, but you are being charged for that each month too. Just to have updates, and the basic program is about $200 monthly. There are still gaps in the basics-for example, you should be able to enter waiting period information-can't, enter if sealants are basic or preventative-can't, how many cleanings are allowed per year and if it's 2/year or every 6 months and alert you if you are scheduling something not covered-doesn't. There are a couple of other things like this, still not there. There are always glitches when a new update comes out. I always wait several months, cuz they always have to send an updated version out later. Review Source BB Brieona B. December 5, 2017 4.0 Eaglesoft has much better graphics than Dentrix and it looks better to the naked eye Pros I used Patterson Eaglesoft in college and it was so easy to learn and manipulate. It had easy scheduling and the graphics were great! Cons I do not think Eaglesoft is as company friendly because I do not hear of many dental offices that use it. The updates were timely, effecient and always an improvement. We moved to a cloud based software, that is more complicated and less user friendly. Pros User friendly, minimal clicks. Organizational , ease of reports, simple to find information. Cons Not cloud based. Required separate software with additional cost for electronic attachments. The clinicians like it but charting can be a very lengthy process with this software. Pros It is easy to find and select existing patients and it is easy to look for openings to schedule new patients. Cons Not as up to date as some other softwares.
