Pros Construction Crew Scheduling is much different than construction project scheduling. Control board offers a product that really doesn't existing anywhere else in the market. It is a super powerful tool by being able to forecast labor and equipment needs you can really see your "pinch points". Self performing construction companies can only grow as big as they can manage their resources, Control Board helps to enable further growth. Cons It took a lot of internet time to finally find the program. Most people who don't know what they are looking for, may never know about it. Other programs that I test drove were more suited for a workplace where there is just 1 workplace, when you try to start adding many "job site" locations the other software in the market just doesn't hold up. Project Manager Machinery Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Skeptical at first, but really quite good" June 19, 2023 4.0 ControlBoard finally got us out of the phone calls and Excel spreadsheet world into a one visible portal system that is the core of our scheduling. Having one inflexible system is doomed to have it's flaws, but overall, ControlBoard has allowed us to be fractionally more efficient, and has cleaned up some of the trivial tasks that only a web-based portal could. Pros The info that the crews get is instant, and uniform, and via the expected channels. There is no lag from having to recommunicate changes in plans. The cleanliness and organization makes it easy to see both overviews and details of daily and weekly work. The ability to attach work packages has helped control engineering/installer communication. The site info and colors and customization to our customers, job names, job numbering system, and crew sizes/departments has made the experience streamlined. Excellent support from the software team through the whole process. Cons The "applying a filter" manual step is a little clunky, and even more difficult on mobile devices. We tried to connect ControlBoard to our accounting system, but there were too many "special cases" (scheduling some prework on a job that is not open yet, for example) that made the direct connection not workable. Some of the "permissions" for different users didn't work right out of the box. Everyone was able to explain things in great detail. Pros The two gentlemen we worked with (\[sensitive content hidden\]) were amazing to work with! They were very kind and explained everything very well. Cons We are still working through it, but do not have any least favorite attributes so far. The overall process has been great. We get excellent support when needed and it meets all of our scheduling needs. Pros ControlBoard made it easy to import jobs from Sage 100 Contractor and assign employees to work on those jobs. Cons Unfortunately, Nothing comes to mind. Everything works great. Their support is great and quick to make enhancement based on what we request. They are very patience in addressing our company's needs. Pros I love the support that we get. The company make enhancements and really listens to what we need for our company. The tool is very easy to use and it updates with our system so it works well with what we need. Cons The back button does not bring you back to the previous page so users need to get used to it. Coming from an inhouse spreadsheet, Controlboard is very similar, but intuitive when it comes to making changes and adjustments. Pros Ease of Use, and easy to access the website from a phone tablet, or pc. Scheduling is as easy as drag and drop and shows many different schedules. Cons Nothing that has come up yet. It gives everyone at our company the ability to view the schedule in an easy format. Pros We use this software for our scheduling. It is easy to see every crew and resource and job on the same menu which really helps us put together schedules for the next few weeks. Cons There are sometimes small glitches but the team at control board always helps us quickly resolve them. A few of the old feature in the server version were removed like the ease of typing descriptions in the job view were removed but some new ones that made moving crews around easier were added. Pros Providing lots of information to my guys in the field, address, job number, start time, contacts, and being able to transfer to their mobile device almost instantly. I also enjoy the texting feature if I need to send an important message. Cons There are some features that seem clunky that I enjoyed to use on the old control board software. Such as using my keyboard to copy and delete resources that i now have to drag back and forth. It's very possible I'm not using this software to its full potential as there is more to learn. May 18, 2021 5.0 We like being able to send a text to our crews to let them know where they are going and it drops a pin of their location. This is so easy and so helpful for our foreman and project managers to easily contact the crews. Pros This product is very easy to use. I love the feature of just dragging and dropping equipt and crews to the correct locations. Cons The only feature that makes things a little trickier is toggling back and forth between the clipboard and the drop downs get a little confusing on where crews and job s are. The software is incredibly functional and meets all of our needs. The only problem with congistics is that it takes some time to figure out which features benefit you and which do not. In the beginning, I attempted to use as many features as possible. I soon realized that i was spending too much time on scheduling (which is not my only task at work). Once I simplified my method of scheduling, I was able to make changes and updates much more quickly. Formerly, we scheduled our jobs & equipment w/ excel spreadsheets. Congistics' Control Board was the only product I found that met my needs for a reasonable price. Cons Like most technology solutions, there were some challenges initially where we had to adapt to the system. Also, I really like the fact that if you do have any questions or concerns, they are easy to get ahold of and answer your questions. Scheduling is quick and makes it easy for the project managers. All of the info it holds on the employees is very useful as well. Cons There honestly isn't really anything I can think of that we don't like. Anything we have had any issue with was either changed or was just something we didn't know. The only thing I can really think of, was I wish there was a place for a picture for each employee, so that it is just there when you open the employee up. Cons While I understand their importance, I personally am not a huge fan of having the release notes prominently displayed on the home screen. I think it would be more user-friendly if these notes were hidden or made less visible, as they can clutter the interface and distract from the main content. Overall, it is a great solution for our company. This is all secondary to the fantastic customer service and support provided by ControlBoard. They are always available to assist, will actively fix bugs, and adjust features custom to the end user. Highly recommend. Pros Ease of use, thoughtful features, great value. You can tell a lot of effort is put in to make the product great. Cons Any issues I experienced were resolved by \[sensitive content hidden\]. Most were filtering or export problems that were mainly just growing pains.
