For large custoimers with a lot of virtual machines or data, it's a good solution with a good price.

Pros

The price is very low in competition of others, it works and does what is should do. Based on Linux very important because of data security, compression is great! Offsite storage is very easy to use!

Cons

The support is based in Asia, you get answers in the night

It is a mush to introduce this product to my clients and friends since there are dangers worldwide on the internet. Backup service is important You never find the same service with absolutely competitive price.

Pros

Saving both Storage Space and storage cost The Deduplication function helps to save lots of storage and automatically deletes the same files without any selection.

Cons

Ahsay always pushes patches. I know they have to fix some problems and provide more features but it still creates some works for our IT department.

Very positive. It's been consistently reliable and is very unobtrusive on both clients and server. We use a number of different backup solutions across our estate for various different applications so we have a good benchmark.

Pros

This is an easy to use, easy to deploy and inexpensive solution. We spent a long time looking for a backup solution that would suit remote workers long before covid became a thing. Many of the solutions fall short of our requirements (eg. dynamic IP addresses, back up to our DCs, some users running Linux etc.) and are extremely expensive or will only run on Windows machines. This one ticks all the boxes and also provides a nice, intuitive interface for end users to restore files from their backups.

Cons

The OBM solution for Linux servers has a very clunky restore process. Ideally, a web-based interface like the CBS server would be ideal, so it's a little surprising that this hasn't been done. The documentation is also a little convoluted, but ultimately gets the job done.

Reasons for choosing Ahsay Offsite Backup Server

Runs on Linux clients and servers, can back up securely to our datacentres rather than the vendor's cloud services, works with remote clients with dynamic IP addresses and it's extremely reasonably priced.

Pros

Installing and configuring is fine, as is the use of the backup sofware. Overal it works fine.

Cons

The company is unreliable. We did have a maintenance contract, but when a new version came out (7), we did have to pay again to be able to use it. The investment was even higher then when we became a customer.

Vembu decided at some point that resellers were not needed anymore. Later they reversed this, but at that time we did switch to Ahsay already.

Cons

baremetal backup not there. we can't do a baremetal backup and restore like acronis or Datto.

Very, very poor.

Pros

It had a great amount of potential but this system basically requires a full time enployee to manage.

Cons

When we needed it the most, it had error after error. Truly regret spending as much as we did on the system.

We've been reselling backups using Ahsay for years and it has always been a pretty stable way of backing up our customers' data.

Pros

I like how easy it is to set backups up and all of the different types of backup sets you can have. I also think the way in compresses the backups and does the delta changes is very clever.

Cons

The issues we have with Ahsay seem to be whenever it is updated. We get fixes for current issues but we always seem to have new problems crop up afterwards.

Given all that we know about Ahsay and 10 years of use of the client software for internal use and customer use and deployment, is a reasonable solution.

Pros

Easy Implementation and deployment, seriously easy to use.

Cons

Setting up path data, (although easy to figure out), was abit confusing.

When you know what you are doing it works flawless.

Pros

Simplicity with its separate modules. It does what it has to do. Simple configuration and installation.

used it several years ago - but with rise of Hyper-V and Azure backup there is no use for them
