It's a little clunky but does what I need and is straightforward to learn how to use. There could be some changes that make it more user friendly but it does get the job done.

Pros

After I learned how to use it and navigate, it's easy to do what I need. I don't feel like I'm unable to complete a task because the functionality isn't there. My company also uses Onshape and the integration for that is pretty good. I'm not involved in the Admin-side, but from what I can tell it seems very customizable.

Cons

There's a couple things in terms of UI that can be better. For example the search bar sometimes gets stuck in an "Advanced Search" that needs to be cleared/reset in order to get out of, and this is a thing at multiple companies that I've also seen disrupt my coworkers' workflow.

Excellent tool and great value for the money. Integrates nicely with the Arena QMS module. Needs work on electronic Document Management System (eDMS).

Pros

The audit management and the development of custom quality processes. Security is fully 21 CFR 11 compliant.

Cons

Lack of a complete document lifecycle management capability; i.e., from draft through review to approval.

My overall experience with Arena is good and I found it useful to use in our day to day operations .

Pros

Features like Change management with its live status and BOM data for items are good. Also getting the history of an item is useful

Cons

Cannot add multiple items to a request at once. Need to add each item individually. The same is applicable to a change also

I didn't use the customer support yet, but the overall experience from customer point of view, it is a good PLM, the data management is a strenght over the competitors, but the customatization could be improved, for us it is a challenge the audit management, with more customizable features we could alignt our requirements easier. Security is a strenght as well, no bad comment about it.

Pros

The last updated was pretty nice, the interfase have been change in a good way. Also the documentation visualization has improve as well.

Cons

I dont know about the money we paid for it, but as a eQMS it is a nice solution, but for the team the interfase is not as friendly as we can, I think the research motor could be improved and automate the salection when it's a quality record or ECO. so what I like least about arena is to look for an Quality record and manually must select quality to complete the research

My general experience with Arena PLM during this activity was outstanding and incredibly eye-opening. It perfectly demonstrated how modern cloud software can solve traditional bottlenecks through robust data management and fluid, cross-functional team collaboration. Seeing how easily files are tracked, shared, and updated across global teams made it clear that this platform is a vital asset for any organization. The event was flawlessly executed, and it left me fully inspired and eager to implement these excellent management and collaboration tools into our daily engineering pipelines immediately.

Pros

What stood out to me the most during the activity was how effortlessly Arena PLM handles advanced data management and elevates team collaboration to a whole new level. It acts as a single, flawless source of truth where all product data, revisions, and engineering changes are centralized in real-time. I absolutely loved seeing how easily different departments can collaborate simultaneously without any risk of data silos or communication errors. The platform makes sharing information completely transparent, ensuring that every team member is always aligned and working with the most up-to-date documentation, which drastically improves overall efficiency and speed.

Cons

If I had to mention one thing, it would simply be that the session felt way too short to fully absorb all the incredible capabilities regarding data management and team collaboration. The live demonstrations were so engaging that I immediately wanted to spend hours running deep-dive simulations with large datasets and complex team workflows. There are absolutely no negative aspects to highlight about how the platform handles these processes, as it functions beautifully. I just left the activity wishing we had an extended, multi-day workshop to explore even more of its brilliant collaborative tools and automated data workflows.

I use ARENA PLM every day, often multiple times per day. It is much more reliable and easier to use (less problematic) than the other programs I use, especially the Microsoft office suite.

Pros

I has all the information (documentation, drawings, suppliers, change history) for our products. Finding (search) what I need is fast and easy. Making changes is easy. Since it is internet based, remote access is easy.

Cons

I know of no way to make changes/corrections for typos or spelling errors except by item by item. A global change/correction ability would be very useful.

Arena is a decent product with an evolving user interface. They do listen, so be sure to send them comments/suggestions.

Pros

Arena is a useful document control/management tool with a straightforward training module system. As an engineer who uses the Change Control, Items, and Project modules, Arena has a decent search interface with an evolving user interface.

Cons

The usability of Arena is decent, but it's seemingly two steps forward, one step backwards. They're as likely to break a useful feature as to resolve an existing headache, but they're trending towards an ever more useful product.

Item and BOM Management is very intuitive. Import templates allow for ease of use. Any additional attributes desired or required (RoHS, WEEE, AEC-Q, etc.) can be added and set to required or optional. Compliance requirements can be set up as attributes on items. Automatic redlined BOMs (when importing a BOM on an already released BOM) make it easy to see what has changed. There is also a BOM compare option that compared from Revision to Revision or a BOM to a different BOM. The Training Module is great because it's tied to the released SOP'x, WI's and any documentation that requires training. Re-Training can be set up at regular intervals. This reduces the need for a separate training LMS tool and the need for another headcount in HR to manage a certain portion of employee training. The Change module is interactive for CCB members and reduces or eliminates the need for an actual meeting. Change request module allows for pre-review prior to submitting the actual change. Types of changes are ECO, DCO, MCO and deviations. You can add other types of changes as may be required by your company. Tracking status of the changes is a breeze. Again, additional requirements can be added to the out of the box templates on the administrator side. The ability to share releases and changes with Suppliers speeds up manufacturing. There is an ability to allow suppliers to submit requests in the request module and to participate in the change process saves time if errors are found. We regularly have the supplier participate in the "implementation" of changes prior to closing a change. I like that all correspondence is recorded. The Quality Module helps track quality, (i.e. NCMR's, CAR's, CAPA, etc.) We even set up an incoming QC template for BUY parts to record details. We built out APQP to track stage gate release process and that worked really well. Deliverable files can be uploaded and tracking at each stage is visible for final sign off of the stage It's very easy to train users to use whichever module they need to work with. On the administrative side it is easy to set up, add requirements, and configure to whatever works for your company. On the Arena side, I like that backups are completed on their end, servers are configured on their end. this eliminates the need for IT to do this work.

Pros

I like that Arena is easy to use, the integration between the various modules, that it is hosted, and that upgrades are automatic. Customer Service is far and above the best. The ISO auditors like that it makes their job easier and faster.

The Quality Module helps track quality, (i.e. NCMR's, CAR's, CAPA, etc.) We even set up an incoming QC template for BUY parts to record details. We built out APQP to track stage gate release process and that worked really well. Deliverable files can be uploaded and tracking at each stage is visible for final sign off of the stage It's very easy to train users to use whichever module they need to work with. On the administrative side it is easy to set up, add requirements, and configure to whatever works for your company. On the Arena side, I like that backups are completed on their end, servers are configured on their end. this eliminates the need for IT to do this work.

Arena PLM truly shines when it comes to keeping complex product data organized and ensuring that cross-functional teams collaborate effectively. Despite a learning curve, it has become an indispensable tool for our daily operations, ensuring our data management is secure, accurate, and that our global team collaboration remains seamless during fast-paced development cycles.

Pros

What I like most is the exceptional data management capabilities. Having a centralized, single source of truth for all our Bill of Materials (BOMs) and product specs prevents costly versioning errors. Furthermore, the platform greatly enhances team collaboration. Our internal engineering departments and external suppliers can easily access, communicate, and approve changes in real-time directly within the system.

Cons

While the core data management is very strong, the initial process of importing and mapping legacy data into the system can be quite cumbersome. Additionally, the user interface isn't the most modern, which can slightly slow down initial team collaboration until everyone is fully trained and used to the navigation.
