September 12, 2024 5.0 It has been very positive. Arena PLM makes product management easy. Pros It is a great single source of truth for our products that links into our eQMS system without the need to build out complex software in our other systems. Cons Integration options. When we reviewed the integration options with our operational systems(ERP,CRM) there were not a lot of turnkey options. We would then have to build out and maintain these on our own. They do listen, so be sure to send them comments/suggestions. Pros Arena is a useful document control/management tool with a straightforward training module system. As an engineer who uses the Change Control, Items, and Project modules, Arena has a decent search interface with an evolving user interface. Cons The usability of Arena is decent, but it's seemingly two steps forward, one step backwards. They're as likely to break a useful feature as to resolve an existing headache, but they're trending towards an ever more useful product. " September 19, 2024 2.0 Every interaction is a frustrating experience, having to remember what to click on this page, where a secrete setting is on another. It is the least intuitive software I've used in my 30 year career, and I've had to use clunkers like SAP. I regularly lose work because I thought I was done with a workflow but there was yet another save that seemed totally redundant. Every ECO I submit is kicked back because some tiny checkbox I didn't notice wasn't selected, some files I entered defaulted to the wrong settings, some input I made wasn't saved because the UI requires to much interaction for each feature. Pros Arena PLM has a lot of functionality, so much we don't really use more than half the features. Cons The UI is very inconsistent, with every place requiring different interactions, boxes checked to proceded, etc. The UI also does not scale so you need to scroll your browser on nearly every page to find the "save" or other button way off in the corner off the page. Improvements can be made on notification and automations" May 29, 2026 4.0 Overall, the experience is good and satisfactory. I would like to see features to automate trackers and get notifications on new request creations or part creations irrespective of me being a part of it directly. Right now I only get notification if someone adds me to a request which rarely happens in our workflow since we have multiple people working on similar requests. Pros The document management and approvals are intuitive. The revision control is easy to understand and work on across the organization. Timely emails about the changes and notifications on the process updates reduce time required to manage multiple processes Cons The search could be better for individual items and lists. The results should show if the query is part of an item's name irrespective of whether it starts with it or not. Also, I think there should be some bubbles that can help understand individual buttons with org-specific information. e.g. The editions should show how my org uses it. The bubble could say, editions function as versions at XYZ to keep a single file code across revisions. Production manager Medical Devices Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A honest user feedback " June 5, 2026 5.0 I didn't use the customer support yet, but the overall experience from customer point of view, it is a good PLM, the data management is a strenght over the competitors, but the customatization could be improved, for us it is a challenge the audit management, with more customizable features we could alignt our requirements easier. Security is a strenght as well, no bad comment about it. Pros The last updated was pretty nice, the interfase have been change in a good way. Also the documentation visualization has improve as well. Cons I dont know about the money we paid for it, but as a eQMS it is a nice solution, but for the team the interfase is not as friendly as we can, I think the research motor could be improved and automate the salection when it's a quality record or ECO. so what I like least about arena is to look for an Quality record and manually must select quality to complete the research Review Source GR Gowtham R. User interface was much more accessible and organized compared with Agile PLM and provides helpful context on functions. Pros Organized and user-friendly interface. Compared to the homepage clutter from Agile PLM, the Arena layout was easily navigable with help and info tabs on most options to provide additional context. Cons The search function in Arena defaults to the first world-specific search and doesn't appear to have an option to search under "all" like in Agile. If the wrong world was selected (ex. searching for an item part# while "change requests" was selected), no search results would be found and a new user might find it confusing. My first time using a PLM tool and it's very simple for a new person to understand. Still with all that simplicity able to have full functionality for Project tracking, approvals is good. Pros Product, Project management. Able to view information about past changes for the parts and tracking oof all approvals and reasoning for change is very helpful. Ability to check and compare between changes to BOMS for assembly part across Revisions and also with other similar assemblies is very good Cons Currently implementation is tracked through external software. Ability to integrate implementation and also manufacturing site's ERP systems into one single software is a next step for full integration of PLM. There could be some changes that make it more user friendly but it does get the job done. Pros After I learned how to use it and navigate, it's easy to do what I need. I don't feel like I'm unable to complete a task because the functionality isn't there. My company also uses Onshape and the integration for that is pretty good. I'm not involved in the Admin-side, but from what I can tell it seems very customizable. Cons There's a couple things in terms of UI that can be better. For example the search bar sometimes gets stuck in an "Advanced Search" that needs to be cleared/reset in order to get out of, and this is a thing at multiple companies that I've also seen disrupt my coworkers' workflow. Pros I love the simplicity of some functions that other PTC products, like Windchill, overly complicate. Cons There's no way to truly customize the dashboard to show ALL items where you are involved - instead of creating a quick link to a search which opens a separate window view of Changes I have open, I want to see a direct list of items I have open. It would also be nice if it could develop an interface to SolidWorks so we wouldn't have to use a convoluted process of getting our information between both programs. Pros Easy to use. The Change Order system works well. Tracking history of Items created is good. Creating BOMs is easy. Approval system flow is basic and works. Cons More difficult if administrator doesn't configure it correctly. Some sections are little vague on how to use properly like the Sourcing section. Everyone enters the information differently due to it's flexibility to use it. Redlines section is confusing how to use (I still don't know how to use it!) so I end up just attaching a document for redlines. It easily allows us to review part history, have a single source of truth for file releases, and provides easy to find/read/review BOMs. It also allows for a great amount of flexibility on release workflows and approvals, as well as easy to review sharing settings for releasing parts to suppliers Pros Arena easily allows for a single source of truth for parts, assemblies and related documentation. It provides a quick way to view part status, history, and release state and easily allows these parts to be shared with external suppliers. It allows for a complex linking of files between multiple parts, as well as being able to track parts through the development cycle Cons Setup, migration, and training were difficult. Some things still need manual interaction on a daily basis such as marking primary files. Integrations with external software such as Jira and SolidWorks are non-existant, and custom integrations need to be created and maintained. Pros I do like the Engineering Change function and that fact that with the change function as well as others you can attach files. Cons I do not like the fact that some of the features needed for quality functions have to be made in the Quality World and require alot of clicks for approvals, complete etc. Currently to set up annual procedure reviews we are having to set it up as a project for notifications to go out 1 year from last revision. One of the most troubling areas for me is that if something changes in one document, such as a revision to a stated value the system does not provide you a list of all documents that the value is found in as some other systems do. For Engineering I think a very good system; for the actual needed quality actions I feel there are some areas lacking. Also have not been able to find an escalation process. The basic PLM information is easy to create and control. The new features and functionality always make for a centralized location for all information on Products in all lifecycle phases. Supplier access allows seamless communication for critical changes incorporation to product lines throughout various product lifecycles. Change Order/Deviation/ Corrective Action Request interface for contract manufacturer to collaborate actions to take on factory floor with critical actions for inventory dispositioning, for material planning and procurement. Centralized location for compliance documentation associated to items within a product. Workflow for Change Orders and Change Requests. Redlines for all Change Order controlled revisions on BOM's. The system is easily modified for unique requirements per company policies. Cloud application eliminates maintenance and hardware requirements which reduces IT cost. Incorporation of best business practices for the release and controlling all product data. New enhancements make this PLM a gem in a fast pace industry. You would need someone's active help to understand how it is used for your own company's needs.
