### "Salesforce for simplified, mobile, and sales processes"

November 19, 2018

4.0

Salesforce is the industry standard CRM...no surprise here. For superusers, the tool is far better than many other CRMs available today. Nevertheless, the tool is fairly straight to the point. It would be nice to see additional features rolled out regularly to enhance the overall user experience, including especially to ability to enable streamlined automation of the day-to-day sales interaction logging. The Steelbrick CPQ quoting tool is far superior to previous tools I have used, but our use case is fairly modified from the standard out of the box toolset, so my gripe with workflow is more internal. Nevertheless, a streamlined interface would likely increase ease of use, which could make the tool better.

Pros

Salesforce is a fairly intuitive end-to-end CRM tool that enables sales teams to collaborate on the go to simplify logging lead/contact interactions as well as to create, track, approve and book opportunities and quotes, enabling visibility for reporting

Cons

Interaction logging is still a fairly manual process, and even with add-ins, the process could be greatly improved with one-click interaction logging settings enabled by default at the user level.

### "Great Tool, But Get the Setup Right"

November 27, 2018

5.0

We used Salesforce for donor and program tracking at my day job, and I do implementations for small nonprofits to do the same. It's a very flexible tool that is easy to customize but that also comes with great options out of the box. Overall, it's an excellent way for nonprofits to better manage their data and drive results.

Pros

As a Salesforce administrator for a mid-sized nonprofit and a consultant, I think this is an excellent tool for nonprofits. Most nonprofit tools are very siloed--only allowing you to do one thing, like track donors or track programs. But with Salesforce, you can combine all your data into a holistic view, which is great. It's also easy to build automations, which can save a ton of time, especially for super-busy nonprofit organizations.

Cons

Setting up Salesforce is easy if you know what you're doing. But too many nonprofits, especially, don't get the set up right on the front end. That can make things overwhelming and confusing and lead to user errors and frustration. Being thoughtful and thorough with your original setup is absolutely crucial.

### "B2B Necessity! "

September 25, 2018

5.0

As a B2B sales rep, Salesforce is the first tool I use in the morning and the last before I leave for the day. The CRM keeps all of the information from my accounts/leads in one centralized location and the customization is a dream! I can store all information and notes in one location to reference on each call and email that I send. The fact that Salesforce is integrated with every other tool I use, makes my job 1000% more efficient!

Pros

Salesforce is vital in any B2B sales role. I love it's ease of use, organization, and storage! I am able to keep a list of accounts/leads and easily call/email right out of Salesforce! I use the CRM daily and I have experience with other CRM's and Salesforce topples the competition without a doubt. The reporting abilities have allowed myself, as well as my teams, to uncover accounts/leads that can get buried. Salesforce also integrates with a wide variety of platforms and solutions which makes streamlining my processes impeccable!

Cons

The reporting feature can prove difficult, but once you master the fields you are looking to find data on, it get's easier!

### "Lots of Functionality; Difficult to Use"

September 10, 2020

3.0

Pros

Salesforce is commonly used by most sales professionals, so when you have new team members being onboarded there's less training required for those users as most had previous experience with the platform. It allows information to live in a single place that can be collaborated on by teams such as sales, success, and renewals. It's helpful to see activity and know what's been communicated with a particular account versus having to be cc'ed on every email sent to a customer.

Cons

While the basics of the platform are easy to use, in order to get the most out of the product and leverage all features, I feel like you need to interact with a Salesforce Customer Success person or pay for support. The design feels a little archaic and the UI is not user-friendly. The mobile app lacks a lot of functionality. I've worked for many companies that have used Salesforce and run into the same problem where parent companies often do not align with the acquisitions or other companies under them, making several account pages, which does not play well with Gainsight. I am sure this is a company administrator error, but since it's happened at multiple companies, I'd say their UX needs to be improved to reduce administrative mistakes.

### "Salesforce gets worse with every iteration"

July 27, 2021

2.0

from Bad to Worse.. lightening is horrible

Pros

only that it works with docusign otherwise, Id prefer to use something else.. at least it has a mobile app.. but except for simple searches, it's basically worthless

Cons

what can I say? It's terrible and always has been, i marvel that someone became a billionaire off of this terrible product. It is slow, seems unstable, probably because of the slowness in part. Reporting, search and activity reviews are terrible for the salesperson. It's very difficult to use this software to backtrack where you have been to do follow ups.. lots of hidden/imbedded critical menus etc. Scrolling using Chrome is unstable and I don't think you you can use it with any other browser, not sure about that. There's other least likes, but i'm out of time

### "Inflexible platform with poor customer service"

March 28, 2024

2.0

Maybe it is to preserve legacy users, but the way you go about creating custom fields, entering data, etc. is antiquated. It is like you are using a web-based platform from the 1990s!

Pros

It is an all-encompassing CRM platform. In addition, it has APIs to interface with many other systems.

Cons

It is highly inflexible if you want to modify the screens or reports. Customer service is just as inflexible. Even worse, the system lacks the ability to time stamp status. For example, if I want to pull a sales pipeline report as it stood a couple of months ago, I cannot do this. So unless a report was run in the past, you cannot see what progression has occurred since that time.

Reason for choosing Salesforce Sales Cloud

It was the system in place when I joined the company.

### "Easy to implement with the right skills set"

July 11, 2022

5.0

Pros

I led the purchasing decision of Salesforce at our company, which had used Hubspot for a few years. I had always been aware of Salesforce, but we never had the funds to commit to a set number of users annually. When we went through the sales process, Salesforce was very persistent about aligning us with a partner to lead our implementation. I was sure I could implement Salesforce myself, but I entertained a couple of conversations with companies, who all quoted 15k-30k. I ended up doing the implementation myself, and while I didn't have experience with Salesforce, I'd set up and managed most of our business software solutions for years. There was definitely a learning curve, however by leveraging Youtube videos and help articles on the web, I found that I was able to get up to speed relatively quickly, and was efficient in rolling this out to our company. I'd encourage others to try implementing Salesforce themselves first, as you can always run to a partner if you run into challenges. In my opinion, the hardest part about Salesforce is deciding how you want it to work. If you leave this up to a partner, who doesn't understand your business as well as you do, you'll be starting from the back foot from day one.

Cons

The large upfront commitment of a two-year contract, with no ability to reduce your contract value. It's a big commitment for any small business.

### "Salesforce is the best CRM on the market"

September 25, 2022

5.0

We can obtain all we need in one spot at SalesForce. If somebody makes a post or gives us a task, we will be alerted. We have the ability to delegate work to other members of our team and to rank that work accordingly.

Pros

All of the campaign details are accessible in SalesForce. The Dashboards feature allows us to see how well we're doing on various activities, making it much simpler to do in-depth analyses.

Cons

Campaign tasks will still be visible in Salesforce up to the end of the campaign, even if it has been paused or cancelled. As a result, it now looks horrible because there are a lot of jobs listed under "Pending."

### "Fantastic software! Just too expensive "

September 15, 2022

5.0

It's been fantastic. The setup is a little complex and the cost is high, but if you want to have a functional sales team I'd advise anyone to do it.

Pros

Salesforce Sales Cloud sets the bar too high for other CRMs out there. Lead management and its integration with Pardot, Marketing cloud, or even Hubspot make it a complete tool for Sales teams.

Cons

The cost is extremely high, there are more affordable CRMs for small startups. The problem is that Sales Cloud is just too good. I'd create a plan for startups so they can try it.

### "Salesforce is Easy to Use and Has a Lot of Robust Features"

May 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

I like the API and the fact that is very easy to use- the 5-9 extension works very well to manage calls.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is that in our industry calls can go beyond 3+ hours and the system might lose the information. Salesforce should have better support for the 5-9 extension to keep the calls from dropping.

Pros

Salesforce provides some excellent functionality and is definitely top of the game when it comes to configurable and customizable CRM environments.

Cons

There are definitely times where it feels like you're being nickel-and-dimed. There are also some basic features that Salesforce seems to leave out arbitrarily.

### "Salesforce Jr. Admin Experience"

July 6, 2020

4.0

Salesforce (NGOc) is fantastic for tracking donor information, including giving (opportunities).

Pros

Salesforce is user friendly in its layout and ease of use. If I had to use an analogy, Salesforce reminds me of Facebook versus MySpace. MySpace went overboard with attempting to add more features, which took away from the actual user experience and purpose of the social media site. Facebook kept it clean with their layout and maintained the original spirit of connecting with friends and family. Salesforce has done the same thing by keeping the layout clean and consistent.

Cons

Salesforce works relatively seamlessly with my company's business processes, however I have noticed that there are a lot of features that could be taken advantage of for our purposes, but we aren't because we don't know about them. There are some features that we use, but it would be nice if Salesforce sent us an email or displayed a popup (every once in a while) explaining something along the lines of, "Have you experimented with this object/app? Many other businesses use these other objects/apps to complete these types of tasks: \[list of examples\]." This would expose us to other features that we might not be taking advantage of.

Reason for choosing Salesforce Sales Cloud

Currently we use NGOc. However, NGOc is being phased out and we are considering switching to NPSP. Time will tell as to whether or not NPSP will suit out needs.

### "Salesforce Review"

December 15, 2020

5.0

Overall, my experience has been positive and I'm very pleased with this product. It took me a little longer to acclimate to this software in comparison to previous products I've used however this is due to the additional features they offer that I was not privy to. This is very streamlined, innovative and forward thinking as this is cloud-based. I highly recommend.

Pros

I liked the fact that it's a "one-stop shop" that not only met all the CRM services that the company currently utilize but also offered features I did not know was needed. Being that this is more advanced then some of their competitors, it can be a challenge navigating however, they have an excellent customer support team who always respond to inquiries in a timely and efficient manner. SF also "plays well with others" meaning it integrated seamlessly with our existing program.

Cons

In my opinion, this is not for beginners unless you are in a position to dedicate the time and effort required to fully utilize this software and maximize it to it's full potential. It's not what I would consider "user-friendly" per se. It is also on the expensive side and when I began to familiarize myself the software, I wasn't exactly sure what additional features were included in the package. It's definitely a workaround.

### "One stop solution"

October 13, 2020

5.0

It has been great working on Salesforce. We use salesforce for all our agent systems. We also use distributed marketing. Using salesforce allowed us to support complex business process and also improved productivity.

Pros

Cloud based. No downtime so accessible anytime. All the functionalities are packaged so well. Setting up a CRM from scratch can be done in less than a week. They have the products and functionalities for all use cases of CRM. You can integrate with other salesforce platform like marketing cloud so easily. Great customization possibilities. Everything can be tailored as per the need of the organization.

Cons

The salesforce support can improve. A lot of times the support agents don’t have the right knowledge to address the problem. Also resolution from Salesforce can take anywhere from 2 to 72 hours. Frequent updates and steep learning curve

Pros

I was able to keep good track of my customers and build great reports/dashboards. The experience going from sales to customer success was seamless. I used other CRM and they can't build Dashboards as good as Salesforce.

Cons

### "Overall a great tool"

September 26, 2022

4.0

Overall, my experience with Salesforce was great. My team and I used it for practically every aspect of our job.

Pros

What I liked most about this software was how quickly my team was able to pull up customer information. I used this at a previous job in the aviation industry, and it was customized to our needs. We were able to pull up information in a variety of ways, including by tail #. One thing I particularly liked was being able to link emails as this allowed us to see a history of communication with the client from different members in our team. This expedited a lot of our processes as we didn't have to do unnecessary digging.

Cons

I felt at times the data entry was a bit repetitive. However, at the time I think our team lacked training so I believe there may have been better processes in place that we just were not aware of.

### "Great CRM"

December 12, 2019

4.0

Overall we had a lot of success using Salesforce to track our sales pipeline, inside sales goals in particular. It was also really valuable as a data hub for tracking and being aware of prospect outreach. It's powerful enough to allow you to really customize your views, dashboards and reports. Just make sure you have a good administrator who will build out these views and good internal training. It's easy for the system to become crowded with junk data if the users aren't on the same page.

Pros

I used Salesforce to track our sales pipeline while I was working on inside sales. It was a great tool for keeping track of opportunities, seeing what stages certain accounts were at and also projecting our sales pipeline. I liked being able to project sales totals based on percentages assigned to certain stages of the sales pipeline. It also made it easy to track all of our outreach so that at any moment, a manager or another rep could look up the account and immediately know where they stood and what the last contact was. The reports were also great for tracking each rep's progress and again, visualizing those pipeline projections and comparing it to previous month's performances.

Cons

While parts of the system were very easy to use, there were certain areas that I thought had a bit of a higher learning curve. Because of the fact that Salesforce is so powerful and allows you to track so much information, at times it can be overwhelming with the large number of options and the interface can become a bit busy. You need a good administrator to keep your account views and pages organized in a way that makes it clear and simple to use.

### "Versitle, Customizable, Scalable CRM Solution"

November 26, 2019

5.0

What is not to like? I am self-professed Salesforce fan. Overall this tool is amazing and the first software that I have worked with that is actively working to make itself future-proof. It allows our team to track, improve, and better manage our relationships with our customers.

Pros

The tool is completely customizable to meet your business and process needs. It is a tool that can be used and administered without knowing code. If you know their programming code, you can build incredible custom apps, object, etc. With the App Exchange, you can purchase and try many other components that can plug directly into your org. Our team plugs Power BI directly into Salesforce for expanded reporting abilities. Native reporting is drag and drop which is easy for end users to manage.

Cons

Support for transitioning from the Classic version of Salesforce to the Lightning Experience can be somewhat lacking. Salesforce native filtering and reporting can be extremely parans heavy which is difficult to track using the built in reporting interface.

### "The Premier CRM Software"

December 5, 2019

5.0

Salesforce has been a lifesaver as a user and admin. I have used multiple programs in both roles, and Salesforce wins hands down. I can't stress enough how much your future self will thank you by choosing the right CRM program the first time.

Pros

In every company I have consulted for and worked for, we have used or switched to Salesforce. Once built out properly, it is an asset that is scalable and will continue to benefit your sales team. The functionalities are endless: Leads, Accounts, Opportunites, Metics calculators, pipeline management tables, Groups, and options to create products too! (This one was difficult to construct but I was more than ecstatic that I could use this for wholesale as well) Let's talk about customer support: Very comprehensive. There is a whole website dedicated to tutorial videos, live chats, and Q&A boards. If you still can't figure out the problem they do have a real human you can speak to who will help you out.

Cons

The learning curve to set up your salesforce correctly is rough if you have not done any Salesforce admin work before. Starting off with a small group is easier, and the program is more forgiving when you have fewer accounts, leads, etc, but as your org grows, you will want to ensure that Salesforce is set up correctly. Errors with when you have a lot of data will take a long time to fix.

### "The most powerful and customizable CRM - but it takes some training."

March 27, 2018

4.0

Pros

Just upgraded their layout to "Lightning" offering a more streamlined look to many reports, SalesForce provides an extremely powerful and customizable environment for tracking customers, orders and contacts. Different access levels and views allow you to share information with many people across your organization while ensuring that you maintain data from being altered. Custom reports can be set to run and be emailed on schedule informing your users and keeping them in touch with any activity they should know.

Cons

Salesforce can be expensive as you need to pay for access by seat. Although it is a very powerful tool it does not walk you through how to create contacts, opportunities and reports (for example) so Salesforce training will probably be required for anyone new to the system. Creating custom fields, plugins and more can make Salesforce fit perfectly with your organization but over time this can hinder your ability to use new features or keep control of your data.

### "Salesforce Takes Care Of All Your CRM Needs "

February 15, 2019

5.0

There are numerous user definition fields with Salesforce that makes it easy for each team member to not only work as a team but in each unique user role. CRM, candidate tracking system, and client base all easily managed and Salesforce can be opened everywhere thanks to the easily accessible mobile version and the ease of access on every browser. Each section of Salesforce is tailored to display the data pertinent to each client or team member. Automation of common tasks is time saving. Salesforce is a great tool, a versatile piece of software that has become essential to our business needs.

Pros

Salesforce is easy to use and has a vast range of features. There are numerous plug-ins available to suit every need. Importing records is a relatively simple task. Customer support was amazing with the necessary learning curve. Features can be turned on and off when necessary.

Cons

Over-customization made it hard to integrate with some of the other products we currently use. It takes time to fully understand the system completely but well worth the effort. The cost was significantly more expensive than other services.
