Power and flexibility. Customization and control. Everything you'd want in a faux database.

Pros

Its UI is very straightforward. Cming from a place where we use it more for contact management and not so much sales specifically, the interaction between part of the program is very good. Navigation and highlighting needed components and effort from users is well done. You can get the use to do what you need to do. Running the background processes becomes a bit clumsy at times. If you walk into it knowing a little about the way software works, you can be dangerous in both a good and bad way. This is a PRO if you know enough to know you know nothing. Take the time to re-learn and ask plenty of questions. You can do a lunatic amount of things with automation and make life easy. In addition, there's been enough history that someone has asked every question once. You just need to find a way to get to it. Barring that, getting responses from the SFDC help staff is very good.

Cons

Running the background processes becomes a bit clumsy at times. If you walk into it knowing a little about the way software works, you can be dangerous in both a good and bad way. This is a CON if you think you know something or there's some edge case that's hard to define. I personally find that things aren't generally intuitive. I don't really knock SFDC for this though as the variety of things you can do make it difficult to keep everything really tight. Pre-requisites... my oh my make sure your sand-people are in a single file. Trying to retcon something is a red nightmare. Also, and maybe I'm cheap... but licensing is crazy-expensive in my opinion.

Pros

It's extremely easy to use. The implementation process was a breeze for our team. It's highly customizable, so our team determines what is the priority. The dashboard is great. So much data is nicely organized and accessible. The work queue is nicely laid out and organized. Tracking our team performance and forecast is also right there.

Cons

The mobile side of Salesforce has great potential, but still needs some development.

We were looking to update our CRM and wanted something cloud based and easy to reach for all users. It has been an excellent choice as we can make fast updates to our system without a lot of work or programming. People find it easy to use and onboarding new employees has been faster than before.

Pros

Very easy to use and setup customizations. There are a lot of options to customize the system to your needs without having to write code. Going from test to live in super fast and easy. It is updated three times a year that bring a lot of new features that improve what we can do in the system, Salesforce becomes more powerful each time. The ad hoc reporting is incredible to have.

Cons

The price is pretty high for some who are not going to use it all. There are a lot of extras that would need to get bought for you to get everything you want from the system. It might not be clear what is an extra. It lacks some functions that you might expect from a system like conditional fields cannot be highlighted.

I would caution anyone to avoid Salesforce if they are considering it for their organization. Our organization was already using it when I started. I had heard of Salesforce, and thought it would be a great tool to use. That was so far from the truth, I almost wish I hadn't accepted the job offer just because of how much I've had to use Salesforce.

Pros

Salesforce is the ultimate customizable CRM. If you need a CRM solution that can be customized to your organization, there's probably nothing more customizable than Salesforce.

Cons

It's hard to imagine any person, team, or organization \*liking\* Salesforce. I'm sure many people use it happily, but we find it way too bloated, convoluted, and confused. And we have many CRM veterans on our team. The fact that Salesforce tries to be an effective tool for anyone outside of sales is perhaps the most confused product roadmap I've ever come across. It does everything, but nothing well for us. And their sales teams are the most aggressive, with ridiculous iron-clad contracts.

WE moved from Jira to Salesforce - it was a learning experience and one SFSC lightning was available, the overall ease of use was better.

Pros

An integrated single source of truth customer repository. Single pane of view allows to mine customer specific transactional data with ease. Ability to customize workflows allows for greater granularity of control. Availability on mobile devices is another great feature for people on the move.

Cons

It is a rich tool, but even though it is web based, it is not a lightweight client.

Overall, considering I have used this program across numerous organizations, both as a new implementation and as an existing platform; I would say it is a superb CRM system. Additionally, I have used two other CRM systems, and neither meet the functionality as well as Salesforce.

Pros

I have been a part of numerous business organizations that used Salesforce. One that integrated it into a business and one that had used it, essentially, since inception. In the business where we switched CRM systems, from the user standpoint the transition was somewhat seamless. Although expansive in product functionality, it has a pretty simple user interface, making it easy to pick up. Salesforce offers the excellent feature of customizing reports, either to export or to feature on a cloud-based reporting dashboard.

Cons

The biggest struggle that I have had to date is with the 'new' lightning interface. To be fair, as with anything new, it requires time and patience. However some of the items, like the report builder, is far less intuitive than the original. It offers a block-style builder platform that features what I can only describe as a partial-drag-and-drop function. The system automatically adds items to a grouping when selected, however upon initial interaction looks like a drag and drop menu. It's a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, isn't an issue.

When Lightening was introduced into our nonprofit we experienced some highly unusual issues. SalesForce customer service found our issues, and assisted in the resolution to roll out. The customer service team took all measures needed; their input was critical to ensure SalesForce could be used in the new platform..

New Lightening interface, CRM tracking, reporting capabilities, training documentation, ease of input of information

Cons

New Lightening interface has eliminated ability to import data easily. Importing information by batch should not be a hassle!

Frustrating and would NOT recommend them based on customer service and support. You're a nobody once paid client.

Pros

Honestly, I personally feel they are behind when it comes to CRM systems. I don't find anything of quality and if it were up to me and not the company I'd switch today to another system.

Cons

Nothing they promise to integrate with works right, it either always has a bug or slows down your system tremendously. Once you're a paid customer your AE vanishes and you can't get any support done or call backs in a timely manner. I've currently waited two days to add another license. Then when it was finally paid for I couldn't get anyone from support to help set them up. Our AE and her manager have both yet to call back regarding it. It's very frustrating and time consuming dealing with them. Everybody says they'll have someone reach back by end of day and still no one does. They want to close support tickets before it's even handled.

My cons is that the app needs improvement. I wish the layout could look more like the desktop version. Its hard to access notes on there.

Salesforce is the biggest and maybe the most famous brand and that was why we started to work with them at first glance when we need an online service to help us get started on our B2B marketing and sales team. But, we could not manage to get the value we need, tried hard to stay but time is money and support (somehow) could not managed to get us into right position.

Pros

Even though we used the service less than 3 months, server speed was amazing. No lag, no downtime, no speed or maintenance issues I can remember.

Cons

Over-complexity was the main image when I try to recall my experiences with Salesforce product. Tons of options, menus, different settings interact with each other, sections etc. It must be really cool when you are able to use them, but learning curve was too high.

It supports a detailed sales process, and provides the visibility and reporting that I need to do my job effectively. I can manage my sales pipeline and build out just about anything I need with the software.

Pros

I have yet to find something I can't do within Salesforce. Sometimes it takes an app from Appexchange, or it's a complicated setup, but at least I can do it. Every sales org is unique and it's this flexibility that keeps me a Salesforce user. Data is important and the basics of Salesforce are easy enough to customize on the fly so that I can build out a process within Salesforce that is effective. Their reporting is extremely customizable once you build out the rest of the instance correctly.

Cons

There is a learning curve, but it's well worth learning the software in detail. There are a ton of really logical features that should be part of Salesforce, but aren't. I'll google them and find massive threads on the topic validating this. Oh well....
