### "Great data tracking, and point of sale program"

March 29, 2018

4.0

Helped me gather and retain much more customer and vehicle information than I previously had. Much easier to search back through past services and repairs.

Pros

I like the options and functionality it offers. I need to go through more training to learn how to use the rest of it, but what I've used so far is great.

Cons

Occasionally changes pricing if I've adjusted it on a work order. So I invoice it out and have to go back and change it to what I had previously quoted.

### "Benefits of NAPA TRACS"

August 15, 2024

5.0

I really like . Anytime i need to access invoices or estimates i can simply hook up to my laptop and move forward. I didn't need to buy any special electronics to utilize the product. Being able to let the consumer see how professional and sophisticated the software looked was a huge bonus and made my store even more appealing.

Pros

Being able to look up VIN's and license plate numbers really help in accurately identifying a vehicle.

Cons

Some small glitches may occur, so you need to check your invoices before you finalize anything. Really not that big an issue, since you should be double checking anyways.

Alternatives considered

[AutoLeap](https://www.capterra.com/p/216500/Autoleap/)

Reason for choosing NAPA TRACS

When i visited the websites, it looked like AutoLeap was more concerned with dissuading people from using than they were about meeting our needs. NAPA TRACS clearly showed how they could help us from the beginning.

### "Mixed"

May 26, 2022

3.0

We have used TRACS since it was DOS based. We have seen a lot of bad features come and go, as well as the good. It is easy to use for the most part but can be a little daunting for a service writer in a hurry.

Pros

Inventory management is very useful and easy to use. We love that Repair Link and ProDemand links are now part of the screen. Being able to undo an invoice is a great add as well. Calling TRACS Support is always a great experience. Some of them even call back to make sure you're getting along ok!

Cons

Repair orders and invoicing needs a lot of work. If you have more than five items in your repair order, good luck maneuvering around. Switching over to the profitability screen or technician screen gives you a much easier view. However, they have taken away the ability to drag items around in these screens. There are also way too many columns in each of these two screens. Please bring back spell check!

### "Awesome Software"

May 26, 2022

5.0

I really enjoy the ease of use with the program.

Pros

My favorite feature about this software is the profitability worksheet. It clearly shows me what I set me goals to be and if we meet them.

Cons

The part I liked least is not being able to change the Invoice date. It is needed randomly and would be a useful feature.

Reason for choosing NAPA TRACS

Can't remember the name, it came down to customer service and knowing that I was going to be taken care of by the Tracs team.

Cost and Features. I was not getting the same benefit from Fullbay that I do from Tracs. I had been with Fullbay for the Inventory features and realized that Tracs are more suited for what we do here in our shop. Plus the price for Tracs and features they have are way more valuable to me.

### "Love Napa Tracs and the support behind their product is amazing! "

June 6, 2022

4.0

My work orders and invoices look more modern, professional. We are able to search not only NAPA but all parts vendors on one screen and see their availability. I am able to run many reports and have help customizing to my shop . All the way from the TRACS rep, conversion team, daily access to the National Trainer and the support hotline, no other company offers that support. I have an amazing team behind me. Well done NAPA and !

Pros

It is up to date, user friendly, invoices and work order look professional with my customers, integrates well with many other software/products. As Tracs users, we have access to the National Trainer, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]DAILY (Mon-Fri). Also the support team behind Tracs is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are awesome. We used Mitchel 1 for 20 years and I am so happy we switched to !

Cons

I have asked for some features with Accounts Receivable. I have been told they are working on those and it will be in an update soon. The best part is if you work with the National Trainer which to my knowledge no others have to offer, they listen, will help in anyway they can and they work to improve their product constantly!

Reason for choosing NAPA TRACS

The service, support and access to the National Trainer on a DAILY basis who can help you navigate any issue and work to customize specifically to your shop. No one else offers the support they have! We are able to search all parts stores for availability on one screen.

use it as a service writer in Truckee California still had to have general knowledge and understanding of a vehicle .

Pros

its pretty easy to use. as long as you have a mechanical mind and simple logic mind set you'll be fine to use it.

Cons

must know all locations and terms that are used to find the parts. cannot give it a general description and hope for it to fill in the blanks.

### "TRACS DOES IT ALL!!!"

January 21, 2025

4.0

It's been a good experience over all. TRACS, for us, is an all-in-one tool, that we utilize on a daily basis. From diagnostics, to ordering parts, to keeping track of the expenses on repairs to each individual vehicle, TRACS does it all.

Pros

Convenience in ordering parts specific to my saved vehicles. Also, keeping a catalog of our vehicles and equipment.

Cons

Pricing would have to be the only con. We have 4 mechanics and 2 shops. It gets a bit expensive for our small business.

### "Good overall shop management solution if you have an extremely great computer system."

May 24, 2022

4.0

Still plugging along with this hoping things will improve. The platform has the potential to be the best in the industry but needs a ton of cleanup in the code, improvement with the integrations and frankly, the price point is exorbitant for something with as many issues.

Pros

Overall a great shop management tool. Full featured and handles most all aspects of your shop from estimate through invoice along with history and accounting reports.

Cons

The code that drives the software is very klunky. It's so heavy to run that the best computer you can buy off the shelf at your local electronics supplier will struggle to keep up. Be prepared to invest in a computer that is WAY above average in both processor power and ram. Otherwise you'll be restarting your several times a day to release the memory the software has bogged everything down with. Often by lunch time on a busy day I'll find I "click" a tab and wait upwards of 2 minutes for the software to move. So a restart becomes mandatory. Altogether, this process costs me more time than the otherwise convenient software saves. Additionally, parts tech catalog integration is dismal at best. Works ok for looking up parts across your vendors and transferring said parts to a work order, but you cannot order from it any more. You still have to go to your individual vendor, look the parts up again and then order from there.

### "GREAT PRODUCT BUT HAS LIMITATIONS"

January 5, 2021

4.0

i really like the system but will unfortunately have to change i feel that if i had a stationary shop location and wasnt on the road contantly that it would be a great system. i use the enterprise version and actually like i stated love it but will have to change so i can adapt and grow my business for the future i will probably return in the future once i have a shop location and am not going back and forth between devices as much

Pros

I love but as a mobile automotive repair business I have found certain limitations it has to be hooked to a laptop for invoicing estimates. unfortunately I will have to be looking for a more mobile option if possible . i like the ability to send and invoice work orders estimates and invoices on the fly with ease of access being able to access mitchell one for my diagnostics and being able to use that system and all the benefits that come with it. i wish i didn't have to use the software of tracs only from my laptop. also it does glitch out but that could be my laptop more than the program you have to have a lot of memory and speed to run the program also processing power is key. it does have a very professional look to the customer when they see the invoices and epicor makes ordering parts and comparing prices across the board a breeze.

Cons

i wish tracs would do a better job of integrating the parts into the work order but in order to do that you have to actually order the parts instead you spend a lot of time copying and pasting part numbers and information from the pro link screen to the work orders and also the way i use it is considering i dont always make the sales cause some customers buy and dont buy i use an item i have made called misc part and then add the part number to the estimate as i go so i can get the estimate written quicker to present to the customer it can be a challenge getting used to the program also anytime you add a new customer even if you get the quote or not they are forever stucj in the system and cant be deleted they can only be hidden. which makes it difficult also. the same with the parts and items you put in they can be altered but never removed.

Reason for choosing NAPA TRACS

i would stay but am going to have to leave the system for now hopefully in the future i can revisit it its great for a shop location but not for mobile technicians

### "TRACS"

November 8, 2023

4.0

TRACS has great customer service and TRACS was a great starting point for our shop, but the software could use some significant updates in interface and features. It's easy to use and effective, but making it an all-in-one software that features communication/texting, more comprehensive work order management, DVIs, etc. without having to pay for, sign up for, and manage 4 other integrations would make it significantly more competitive.

Pros

For what the software is, worked well. The pricing is great, and I think it's a good starting point for any new shops or those who aren't tech savvy. All of the features that TRACS does offer, it does well.

Cons

TRACS is slow to updates and changes. It only recently allowed the ability to capture digital signatures. There are still a lot of updates to the interface and features that it needs to make to compete with other software on the market. It works with third party software to bridge some of the features it lacks; however, having two different software is costly and clunky and often doesn't work the way it should. TRACS is very manual and unintuitive, and it very much feels like using an early 2000s software.

### "tracs enterprise"

June 3, 2022

4.0

So far its pretty good I would recommend it. It has a few glitches as does everything but overall It does what I need it to do and I keep finding new stuff the more I investigate so by next year I will know even more about it.

Pros

Tracs is generally a easy program to use for beginners and does everything you need in a business to keep customers and production in the office moving along.

Cons

I liked the old way to look up parts, before we switched to enterprise. It was a better system for me and it had a little more information I felt. I also don't like how every time I order something it erases anything I have wrote in my work order where the part listing is. I like to label my parts and it erases any labels I add.

3.0

Overall the experiance has been good, the only things I do not like is the lack of assistance that is avaialable and difficulty of using parts vendors other than Napa.

Pros

The ease of making estimates using Napa parts and Mitchel labor is fast and easy.

Cons

Using parts suppliers other than Napa can be less intuative.

### "The old Napa Tracs worked , this doesn't"

June 1, 2022

1.0

It actually ruins parts of my day, every day , try having a customer standing in front of you waiting for 3 estimates. I go to O'Reilly's website and look up the parts faster and type them into the estimate or I would be here all day....

Pros

This category is asking for 40 words on what I like. I don't have 40 words. I have been in the automotive repair business for many years. there is nothing about this software that works for this business. Why fix what wasn't broken.

Cons

Work orders not easy to access, parts look up is way too complicated !!! I worked for Napa for 10 years so how to, and part numbers are not a problem for me. Takes the fast pace out of a a fast paced shop, the parts availability is like looking for gold, time consuming. Go look at O Reilly's website, please Simple, informative. The old Tracs had its flaws, but was very workable( daily I deal with at least 10 invoices a day.). . click on an invoice and go. Now you spend literally 3 minutes trying to get the invoice to alphabetize. Just to open it.

June 1, 2022

5.0

So far I have had no issues with software, except one time when \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] went down across the US. A very good tool, wish I had more time to use other features of it but with running the business and having employees my time is limited.

Pros

It works with my QB, easy to use. I use Asset management also with Tracs to track tech's time.

Cons

sometimes the flexibility on going back to an invoice from a month or so ago and not being able to open it, make any changes for bookkeeping purposes, etc.

### "Napa tracs is VITAL"

June 1, 2022

5.0

and our representatives have been a valuable asset to our business. Can't imagine not having it

Pros

Many features in tracs are important to our business. As the accountant, I love how the info from tracs propagates to our Quickbooks with one click. It's a central place for all info needed by our team.

Cons

Sometimes customer payments don't close out their invoices. They show a zero balance on their account but in quickbooks they have open invoices that the payments aren't applying to. I have to manually close those invoices.

Reason for choosing NAPA TRACS

I asked 5 other successful shops in our town what system they used. All 5 said Tracs. 5 out of 5 was good enough for me.

### "Tracs review"

June 7, 2022

5.0

Everyone can read the invoice. No one has to decipher someone's handwriting. Customer has a clear copy for their records. It is nice we can reprint an invoice for a customer for warranty purposes if they don't hve heirs.

Pros

We have been through many versions of tracs. We went from paper to Tracs. It was so easy to use. The training curve was very short. The invoices are very easy to read and are some what adaptable to each shop's circumstances.

Cons

The current version, Enterprise, has totally messed up the recommended services. I would like to be able to go back to the legacy version. No one has really been able to help me set up labels under the new system.

### "Needs work"

December 13, 2023

3.0

Pros

Napa Enterprise is a good software to use to manage small business and easy to use. The work order management is a great system and is a huge improvement from Napa Legacy.

Cons

Big downer is when receiving payment you can only receive one payment at a time and you must type in the amount to receive. Napa Legacy would auto fill in the amount with the customer balance and after receiving payment you could select another customer. Napa Enterprise makes it so you have to exit the payment screen and reload it to select another customer. Slows down receiving to a crawl.

### "glitchy program "

June 7, 2022

3.0

over all I do like tracs and plan to continue using it however I do feel that the program could be improved if some of the bugs were worked out of it

Pros

I do like that tracs lets me move in and out of Mitchel as well as prolink for parts ordering we also integrate it with autovitals

Cons

tracs uses A LOT of power to run this makes the program slow and glitchy esp. when intergrading it with autovitals witch also uses a lot of power the software is prone to locking up and sometimes is very sensitive where you click at on the screen

### "Hill's Napa Tracs Review"

May 24, 2022

2.0

Hasn't been a good experience for us. No one want's to listen to our problems or resolve those problems. I emailed several complaints to I guess if you want to call the sales reps they do not reply. WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY OF THE COURSES DON'T SEE NO NEED TO AND YOU NEED TO LET THEM KNOW THAT SO THAT WE CAN QUIT GETTING EMAILS FROM !

Pros

Two things 1.We don't have to have the Main Server up and running so now another user can run his without the Main Server on. 2. Don't have to worry about doing a backup everyday, it does it on it's own. The OLD (Legacy Tracs) SYSTEM was BETTER.

Cons

We use this for parts sales only, we do not use here for Service Tickets that would be a question that you need to ask our Restoration Shop, we have two different businesses here. I believe we need to look for a new system. We have input some request on the old system, but you pretty much ignored us on that at the time and pretty much ignored us on the new system. Whoever programs the system needs to ask the users what we need not what they want to see.
