Overall, it is probably one of the least functional programs I've ever used. It's a great idea and was probably the best option a decade ago but it could use a full rebuild

Pros

It's nice that it keeps track of customers, their vehicles and the repair history. I also like being able to order parts directly from the program.

Cons

The software feels like it was built for old computers and has just constantly had new code dumped on top. We have issues with it nearly every day and frequently have to have support come through remote viewer and reinstall it. It has a million different functions and tools but only a very small percentage of them actually work.

Overall I am completely satisfied

Pros

Integrates seamlessly with my local Napa parts store. Estimates and billing take less time to complete than they did with my previous software that did not allow Napa integration.

Cons

It is Not cloud based do it slows down my computer. I’m sure there are security benefits to this.

Pros

Software is easy to use. Doesn't take long to figure out how to use it. Makes it very easy to see what you have done in the past for a customer. You can create multiple estimates for a customer, and as they approve them just transfer them right to your work order.

Cons

When you are creating estimates for a customer they are tied to the invoice that you created them on. If a customer decides to do a job later you have to go back through your past invoices to find where the estimate is.

Its good about keeping up with invoice and mechanics but its all the time not responding and you have to shut it down and restart the program

Keeping up with invoices and keeping up with mechanics that does the jobs

The pricing on Tracs does not match the over counter price at my local Napa store, Tracs is always not responding Tracs does not look up vin numbers right, Tracs is very slow

nothing at this time I am questing if I still want to keep the program.

Easy to lookup customers by name, vin, number, tag

Cons

The software in my opinion could be a lot better. Orders sent on po; store says they never received the order. I have transferred items to recommend service and it will not be there. Sometime times when you have a existing vehicle in the system and you need to go to prolink it can't find the vehicle. Sometimes it wont even connect to prolink or any of the other tabs it just sits there and spins. The list is to long to keep going.

Overall experience has been very good. We have used TRACS since the early 2000's.

Pros

We like the ease of use with Napa TRACS and the reporting features and reports are helpful in looking at numbers.

Cons

There are a few little things I would like changed but understand that the company has to go with what the majority use. I would like to see easier payment entry when entering fleet payments and full options for payments on the invoice screen.

Pros

The ease of writing and updating work orders is fantastic. I like that you can do everything from writing purchase orders to checking history and updating recommended service from one screen. I also like being able to program it for a "check and balance" reminder so a ticket can't be invoiced without a PO being received or without a customer group and cause of failure being entered. It is nice to also limit access for different employee groups so that for example a technician in the shop looking up parts can't unlock or change an invoice. In our company with multiple locations, it will also allow us to link into or change shops for customer and vehicle information.

Cons

The system has a way of changing edited items back on its own. There isn't anything more frustrating than to quote a customer an estimate, only to find that when you originally had two parts on the estimate ( such as two rotors ), the system had changed it back to a quantity of one. The same thing occurs if you edit a price, it automatically changes back....frustrating if you don't realize before you invoice.

my customers depend on me to let them know when and what there vehicle needs and if a part is under warranty i can see when it was put on there vehicle.....

Cons

Nothing!!! If my computer goes down i am lost with my napa tracs

Pros

I like that Napa is integrated with the software. It makes my job of making estimates easy.

Cons

I get the most frustrated that I can only use one window at a time. There are times that while making an estimate I will either have a customer come in to pay or the phone rings and I need to get in another window. This forces me to end what I am doing so I can help the customer.

Very good we have used it a long time. It works very well with our shop. We are 65 miles from parts so knowing where parts are and when they will be at are shop is huge. I t is nice to see profitability on each ticket. very simple to use.

Pros

We like how easy it is to use electronic cataloging with the work orders. we can easily see where parts are and how long to get them. lately with some parts hart to get it helps to know where it is .

it would very easy to put a small book keeping program with it. tTo make it simpler than imorting to qick books

Pro Link and vin decoder when works. History and note section is handy

Cons

Bugs in the system that cause vin decoder not to work at times, loosing tickets after you build them. Or when you close them when Invoiced.

Tracking invoice profits and other KPI's.

Pros

Parts lookup to invoice integration. Payment processing via 360 integration. Customer history. Back Office integration with Quickbooks and TRACS.

Cons

Program seems to slow during use during the day. Do not like having to restart server this frequently. No other programs we use require this. TRACS should be able to fix their "Memory Leaks" issues. Would like a more robust time clock capable of tracking payroll similar to Labor profit management.

the reports section, even though we only use a few select reports.

Cons

Teh scheduling feature is cumbersome to use and has a lot of limitations that need improvement. Also in order to invoice a ticket, all purchased items have to be received individually, which can be very time consuming.

We use it daily and no major issues thus far, other than when having to make corrections when customers are charged incorrectly.

Pros

It's interface is fairly easy to use and being able to see what is in stock at the stores can be very helpful.

Cons

When making corrections it can be a litte confusing and a little more user friendly. If this system could print old schooler mailer reminders for the user to send to customers

there is nothing exceptional to comment on

Cons

has to manually backup every 30 hrs. should be able to do it by itself during the night. if I make a mistake on an invoice I cannot go back to a work order to fix it. VIN decoder is seriously flawed. Labor times leave a lot to be desired, however this comes from Mitchell. Since last update everything is extremely slow! Frequently I get message that my subscription is going to expire even though it isnt.

Pros

The fairly consistent usage from legacy to enterprise is good. There are some promising items within Enterprise - the schedule is better, the estimating, matrix info is easier to use.

Cons

I wish the programmers would finish some of the items they started and get the bugs worked out rather than move on to the next "feature request". Get the foundation solid, then move forward!

Overall, it is very good. With each new update, there are things getting addressed to make it work better.

Pros

They are constantly updating the platform while taking input from the end users. I have been selected to work on the TRACS Advisory Council.

Cons

The parts process is still clunky and time consuming. While I understand the reasoning for the process, it is still time consuming.
