### "A reliable solution for Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud users"

I have been using V-Technologies Starship since it was first offered for Sage 100 and now Sage 100cloud. It is a solution that the shipping departments seem to like and I rarely get calls on any type of support issues. It's simple to upgrade and what I can't handle myself the support department will field for a fixed fee which is generally money well spent. I get very few, if any, complaints from end users about this system.

Pros

StarShip is easy to upgrade, the support has improved over the years and I have probably upgraded a half dozen users in the past two years and support has always been helpful at sending the latest release and documentation. In some cases I advise the customer just to pay the flat rate and have V-Technologies do the upgrade. In all of those instances everything has gone well.

Cons

The online knowledgebase is difficult to navigate / non-existent. If I have a tougher question I advise the customer to buy a V-Technologies support case. I think this has worked pretty well. I'd rather have a great self-service knowledgebase but once we get V-Technologies on the phone the support techs are exceptionally well versed in solving problems.

### "Solid shipping solution"

Using starship allows the shipping department to quickly fulfill orders that have been created using our ERP system. Once the orders have been processed, Starship writes back the pertinent data to our database so that it can be accessed as needed.

Pros

Starship is a great solution for fulfilling our UPS & USPS orders through our ERP software. (Macola 10) It is flexible enough to adapt to our needs. The technical support is very knowledgeable and can usually get problems fixed very quickly.

Cons

The biggest complaint that I have with the software is that you have to pay per incident for tech support. This can get pricy. I've also had to call tech support due to quirks that seem to be the fault of the software, but have been charged anyways.

### "AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

Nothing short of a horrendous time wasting nightmare. When complaining about the problem, we received a rather rude and abrupt phone call from one of their employees whose only purpose in calling was not to help fix the issue, but to give her own special commentary about what she thought of our complaint and unfavorable opinion of their software

Pros

This product was sold as a newer and better version of their ShipGear software suite. While it had its quirks, ShipGear was at minimum a functional shipment processing software suite. Starship is anything but.

Cons

The setup for the software was improperly done by Vtechnologies and we had nothing but problems with it. The last straw was when their software wouldn't authenticate our already programmed UPS and other freight carriers account numbers, rendering the software useless. We ceased using just a few months into the new software, as we encountered the same non-existent customer service, solicitations to pay even more money for something VTechnologies screwed up in the first place, and a complete inability to log into their so-called portal. We were advised by their senior sales that if " we couldnt follow simple directions", then that was on us.

Pros

The ability to integrate with ERP systems that others don't want to deal with. The software works well and the support has been excellent each time we have reached out to them.

Cons

The setup and UI is a bit clunky, and some settings aren't intuitive, so there can be errors that occur because things are overlooked, or settings are in odd places. The product needs a UI refresh badly to make things simpler.

Pros

Integrates well with inventory system. Many features and options. Creates commercial invoices, that's a plus.

Cons

It is hard to troubleshoot. Customer service is good, but I dont like having to pay for support by purchasing incidents.

### "BUYER BEWARE!!! "

We have used starship for close to a decade, they have the worst service imaginable. Because you buy the software outright, they charge you a subscription for support - to the tune of approx. $233 per month. This subscription just includes access to updates and they say it gives you access to support staff - but support staff will ALWAYS tell you that to fix the problem its a billable service... and want to charge you thousands of dollars more.

Pros

There are no positives to this software. Its ALWAYS a mess. It crashes. It freezes. To get help takes 48 hours+ sometimes.

Cons

Customer Service, and really everything.

I would not recommend them no matter how well their product works when it does work. Currently exploring other options.

Pros

When Starship works it works well, but when there is an issue, and there will be, their Customer Service is the worse of all 3rd party vendor we deal with.

Cons

Customer Service. You can only communicate to them via email and you can only open a support case via their portal. Now there password reset for their portal doesn't work so if the issue is you can't get into the portal good luck getting that resolved. Once you do get a support case open don't plan on getting prompt responses and don't plan on them responding more than once per day. This means when you do have an issue you will be done for days. Right now we've done down for a week.

Reason for choosing StarShip

Because we were already using Stargate.

Ships easy and writes most data back to Sage

Pros

It is a very easy software that once it is setup just works. We have been using it for 3 years and have the kinks worked out so it is very efficient now.

Cons

We integrate with Sage and it does not allow us to separate items. It consolidates them and renders it useless for our EDI orders. There are fields to fix this but they casue the writeback to Sage to fail and will not fix this.

Able to create and track shipping labels for a variety of carriers in one easy to use program. I miss it.

Pros

It allowed you to create both UPS and Fedex labels in one easy to use shipping software program. This simplifies things and keeps all records in one easy to lookup location.

Cons

It didn't port well with our Business Software (Sage BusinessWorks) and so we ended up having to eventually switch over to UPS WorldShip and Fedex Ship Manager in order to handle the amount of orders we were receiving.
