Slowly we are getting there, but that would be my only criticism. Pros I've used other, similar programs in the past, and FunctionPoint is by far the most comprehensive, while also being extremely easy to navigate. I find it to be pretty fool proof, so I'm never worried about messing something up. Cons I think the search functionality could stand to be a bit more user friendly. It usually takes me a few tries to find what I'm looking for if I don't have ALL the relevant information. March 15, 2018 4.0 Pros I like the synchronization between the Task/To Dos list and the time entry. The Dashboard we have seems pretty straight forward. Cons The Tasks/To Dos list is challenging because I can't figure out a way to sort my many projects by the due date. I also have a problem with the Task list in the timer section. It only shows 200 projects and at any given time we have at least 300 or more happening at the same time. If I have had to work on a project to which I wasn't assigned, it's impossible to find it except if it's in the Task list. The "Find a Project in the "projects drop down is pretty useless . As a legacy system for us, it works decently for creating estimates, invoices, etc., project management, etc. It's fairly easy to learn for new hires to use for basic use. Good timesheet options. Cons It lacks certain features like mass movement of multiple tasks or projects, the schedule feature leaves a lot to be desired, no integration with quickbooks, and reporting could be more robust. Our rep listened to our traffic issues and helped us come up with the right solution for our company. Cons I wish I could look into analytics on my timesheets. We're always trying to increase efficiency so seeing some sort of chart or graph with my billable vs non billable time over the span of different time periods would be very helpful. Function point allows us to track our time, assign tasks and keep work flowing within our agency. Their customer service team has been great and on-site training was very helpful. Cons Simple reporting is not easy to pull. Adding daily tasks is too tedious, so not every department has tasks within each timeline. Tracking time by department by job is not easy to do, as it requires many steps to pull that report. We probably bit off more than we could chew with Function Point, and now realize we likely needed something more simple. With the ability to comment on a project, all who are working on that exact project will receive the note in their email and can follow along from project start to completion. Cons When you create a 'note' on a job, and if you forget to actually 'pin' the note to a person, Function Point will not alert you to say 'oops you forgot to checkmark the person you are sending this note to'. Pros Task management by individual person. Resourcing forecast based on date range. Ability to use it from anywhere. Cons The new scheduling list doesn't really work for our team, we prefer the old schedule template if we have to adjust entire schedules rather than having to adjust each individual task in the schedule. Some of our schedules have hundreds of tasks, so the adjust dates functionality in the old schedule is crucial for us. Cons Creative collaboration is difficult. There is no running stream of communication that would easily allow someone to understand where the project started and how it has progressed. There are too many ways and places where files or information can be stored which creates a lot of challenges with communication and consistency. April 16, 2018 4.0 Pros I enjoy the ability to personalize the dashboard to what I find important to view. The multiple reports that can be run is handy also. Cons It would be ideal to have one more tier available above Projects for billing purposes. The compatibility with Microsoft 8 & 10 has not been easy. There were many adjustments that needed to be done on my end to be able to print reports. I still struggle with particular reports running correctly. December 6, 2017 5.0 Pros I love the timekeeping, the reporting and efficiency utilization of the reports. I can see where my staffing has holes, and what jobs are profitable. Priceless! As my company grows, we can utilize more of the FP features. Cons The CRM portion is not as streamlined as we originally wanted, but it has improved. It would be great to utilize this as some sort of marketing tool in the future with our prospects. I love the features of Function Point and how easy it all is to use, plus whenever I have had a question the support continues to help in any way possible and always right away. Pros One of the features I love most about Function Point is how every part of it communicates making it that much easier for the whole office to communicate and be on the same page with each project/job. Cons My only issue I have with Function Point are the reports. I would like more options when printing out financials on jobs, individually and as a whole. The app is only for timesheet which is good for staff, but not much for management. Pros That I can do a lot in one place. I use it to keep track of the time I spend on each client account, and what work I did for them. I also use it to expense things, and calculate how much the client needs to pay. Lastly, I use it to communicate with other team members and assign tasks. Cons I wish there was an easier way to plug in jobs to the timesheet. If when I clicked jobs, and it popped up the most frequently used, that would be helpful. Instead of searching by client name. The little clock that shows up on tracking time to tasks is an incredibly efficient tool. The weekly view for timesheets tracking is enlightening. Dashboard customization allows people to see what is most important to them in order to increase their productivity. Cons Sometimes cumbersome (too many clicks) to get from one place to another. Cons Sometimes I have a hard time finding things within the software. For example, how to change a setting to have the program do something different. However, the customer service is great so if I get stuck I just reach out and then have a folder in my email to save instructions from FP so the next time I have them handy. Cons The UI is not good... it is hard to navigate - the scheduling piece is particularly tough - I think the system has so much potential but seems to be built from a developers perspective vs a user perspective. " October 17, 2017 3.0 Pros The software is pretty intuitive and provides several great ways to view task allocation as well as costs vs. actuals. I've found this very convenient and useful when trying to monitor budgets and time going into the project. Cons While more intuitive than several softwares, FunctionPoint lacks efficiency in the amount of steps it takes to achieve one task. Something as simple as sending someone a task takes a longer time to set up on the front-end (via estimates, creating the job, etc) than to simply put in a task. I believe it makes managing an agency simple and easy. Cons There are a couple of things that I would like to see. When I tried integrating with QuickBooks I know it wasn't exactly perfect. Also, when you are using the arrow to sort things numerically or alphabetically the results are suspect. I like that our internal clients can request new jobs and log in to make comments and see files without having to email attachments. Cons Because my team is in-house, we don't need the Estimates feature. I wish there were a way to open a job without first having to open an estimate.
