Pros This has been one of the best anti virus softwares that I have been using to protect my desktop and laptop from all the attacks such as malware, spyware and Trojan attacks. In the past this has been the most popular and well known security suite. The updates runs automatically and it always detects any malware which would harm my PC or laptop when inserting third party software or when copying files using Pendrives, DVDs or any storage device. Cons The only thing that has been bothering me of using this software even from the past is that it uses a higher percentage of RAM, hence it slows the computer. Even it sometimes slows down the start up. This i think has been one of the reasons of the rise of other security suits. Pros Look, I'm not a tech person. When I'm shopping for software, I'm looking for ease of use, not customizability. This is why Norton Antivirus was exactly what I need: a solution for work that would be simple to install and brainless to manage. With Norton, I never worry that my information or identity is at risk. It's been around for so long that the brand is pretty much synonymous with web security. Cons The only real complaint I have about Norton is that it's getting pricey. I've also used AVG, and I don't know that Norton is providing more service for the price. But, like I said, I'm not exactly a tech person, and so there could be lots of things happening on the back end that I don't know about. I'm willing to trust the industry on this one. Pros Norton AntiVirus is an anti-virus and security software that is compatible with PCs, Macs and Mobile devices. Some of the things I like about the software are below: 1. The software has an active customer care. I am able to get a response to all enquiries within a short period of time. 2. The software has several features users can choose from if some additional functionalities are needed. 3. Norton AntiVirus provides a cloud backup that can be used to store important data for future purposes. It comes with a storage of 2GB which can be increased with other paid packages. February 8, 2018 2.0 Norton is still the big kid in the block. It offers great protection and blogs to keep you updated with the latest threats and how to combat them. However, it sadly falls short in the license management part. Pros The most popular antivirus out there still does what it knows best. Protect you against viruses and actively scan while you work or game. The team behind this carefully updates it with the latest protection, and more than that offer good blogs on how to protect your organisation's or personal computers against the latest threats. I personally find this service alone of great use. Cons Poor application for iPhones. I do not recommend paying the same amount of money for a subscription if you will use that subscription on an iPhone. There are serious limitations to it as it only protects you online but will not scan the phone for viruses or let you know what apps are using personal data or mobile data as it does on android. I consider this a serious con and unless they upgrade the application they should probably pull it out of the appstore. Another con would be how difficult it is to manage multiple subscriptions if you buy a bunch for your organisation. Emails with download links are sent via norton, and from norton, and most often you will need to share the company norton login with all your staff to make it register the subscription details. This is unacceptable. In addition, their new Wi-Fi protection (VPN) subscription do not allow you to see AT ALL which devices are protected and use a licence. We already bought a year long subscription, but had we known that managing licenses was impossible for VPNs, we would have chosen another program. Also at the same time the app does not take too much of my computer memory up either. I have had issues in the past with really bloated security software. Many times that would get in the way of using Art programs like Photoshop or Illustrator which have a high demand for cpu memory usage. Pros I like the warnings I receive that make me think twice about websites I visit. I think the user interface is simplified for anyone to understand. The ability to optimize the disks and clear out all the extra trash left on browsers is spectacular. I regularly use the application for scanning for virus's and I have not yet got one. Most likely due to the live Auto protect that shuts down any suspicious activity. Cons My only real complaint is that I wish it had even more. I know there are other Norton products that could be added on to make it a more complete suite. For example a VPN perhaps. Other than that, I am pretty happy with the software. Once it’s initially installed and set up, I can mostly leave it alone to do its thing and protect my computers. There is a tuneup feature where someone can commandeer the computer and remove start up programs, clear cache, remove/repair broken links, etc. Cons I get multiple pop-up windows several times a day requesting me to upgrade to other products they offer And there’s no way to turn this off. I never use to recommend the software and was never happy about the need to keep up with all of the updates needed. We're already well protected from the moment we boot up our operating systems and Norton is notorious for making your computer run terrible while it's "protecting" you. Pros It's pretty easy to use and relatively straight forward. Cons Norton Security's hey day has long been passed. This and other "security" software suites are bloated cpu/memory hogs that no longer serve as much of a purpose as they used to. It's not that Norton Security is completely useless, but these days, the built in Windows Security and Apple/MacOS Security is way more than adequate. Gone are the days when you needed a specialized suite of security tools to protect you from online intruders and data thieves. For the most part, this software negatively affects computer/operating system performance greatly. Windows and MacOS already take care of your virus protection and firewall needs built in to the OS. Pros We have Norton Security deployed on every PC and mobile device in our company and we have yet to have any intrusion issues or malicious code on our machines. The deployement to all of the devices was super easy, and we also use it for backing up files. It really is a set it and forget it piece of software. Cons The only things that bother me about Norton Security are the unneccessary options that you have to set up just to get the basic protections working. They have added so many little "enhancements" that most people do not want, that getting the app installed and configured correctly can be a real headache. They should strip it down. Cons Sometimes Norton Antivirus detection for software threat is too strict and i have experience installing a virus free from a trusted resource, but this software will detect it as a virus and remove it. Previously I have been underwhelmed, with the performance of this product. When tested it gave a low percentage of viruses detected, however recent experience with this software have imporved my feelings towards this Norton Antivirus. It gave a high percentage (around 98% or 99%) which is competative with any of the other Antivirus sofware. Pros This software provides adequete protection from viruses and hackers. I had previously had a good experience with norton products, and this one seems "okay". Nothing special. Cons I often get called out to customers premises and turns out they have a computer full of viruses because Norton's didn't pick it up. The customer then without fail will say "But I had virus pretection. They sold it to me when I bought the computer."
