Comments: Mestec have been synonymous with helping us understand our production efficiency, identifying non-productive activities and improving our product cost accuracy particularly on sub-assemblies. Their expertise in software as well as production environments makes a great partnership.
We have successfully introduced the production system in the four main production areas with a view of extending it to other areas.

They respond promptly to any issues that occur, usually a configuration problem on our side.

I am also impressed with their continual focus on improving the software using feedback from their entire customer base. In the end everyone benefits from these improvements.
As the software is Web based it looks professional and is easy to use. The standard reports cater for the majority of our requirements but custom reports can be supplied. For example we have had Shop floor dashboards designed to show relevant production information for each production area.

We intend to continue working with Mestec to give us the ability to focus on the key drivers such quality, cost and OTD.

Implementation of Mestec in a small contract manufacturing business

Comments: The Mestec implementation is being used to delivery greater visibility of manufacturing operations with the primary intended benefit being improvement in shop floor productivity. As we don't have a separate MRP/ERP system, we are also using it for materials management and manufacturing BoM and process definition.
Pros: Mestec has proved to be very flexible and the company has been extremely responsive in working with us to improve the product to address our requirements as well as dealing with specific issues as they arise.
The hosted service has so far proved to be reliable and performs well.
Mestec have built some bespoke integrations for us to Sage for sales order integration, and have been very responsive in terms of development and support for those interfaces.
Cons: We haven't seen any product documentation (although the excellent support compensates for that)
The web user interface is a little dated and could be made slicker in a few places.
We haven't seen any 'out of the box' integrations, or toolkits, not sure if these are available?

Overall, a good choice for a small business looking for flexible solution that covers both core manufacturing execution but can also cover simple materials management and BoM management if you dont already have these in an ERP system.

You have asked a few questions for which I can provide the following answers: Documentation - We have just released a brand new version (V5.0), and the priority has been the creation of user-training materials. This is nearly complete and following this, our written documentation will be ported to a new on-line 'help' system. Web interface - Our new version (V5.0) has an entirely new UI. We would be happy to demo this to you at your convenience and then hopefully agree an upgrade path for you sometime in the coming weeks. Integration - We do indeed have out-of-the-box toolkits and API's and these have been utilised in your implementation, however this is likely to have been done prior to your involvement in the project. Comments: Very well thought through software that adapts easily to specific needs for a manufacturing business. Highly proficient technical team are able to meet even the most demanding of requests. The technical team understand fully our business and our objectives and strive to include improvement suggestions in a short space of time. They could not be more helpful.

Comments: We manufacture a wide range of products and derivatives, in a wide range of batch sizes and have had, historically, difficulty in knowing accurate times for new builds and understanding operator performance. Mestec software has transformed our shop floor knowledge and behavior.
The team are superb and highly responsive. We highly recommend them.
