The software is easy to use; there are good training videos and help screens. If I run into any problems, I send an email to support. They are extremely quick to respond and resolve things. Support is fantastic. Pros What's nice is that IconCMO is specifically geared towards churches, so it understands the importance to track revenue and expenses by Fund. They make it so easy to set all of that up. There is the Contribution module for our church office to track giving. It is totally independent of the Accounting module, but yet it will feed the revenue into the Accounting module. Cons The payroll piece isn't as robust as some other software programs, but only from a standpoint of automatically producing some of the federal and state tax forms. Instead, they provide a report that gives you all the data you need. From there you fill out the form yourself. out. But IconCMO's annual cost for a payroll module is a few hundred dollars less than what you would pay anywhere else. So, if a few times a year I have to fill out a form, it's still a money savings. Pros IconCMO is easy to use and well organized. The getting started guides are well written and very helpful (you don't have to be an accountant to understand them), and as you use different screens the Help guide for each screen is also a great resource. The template reports cover almost every situation we need to keep track of donations, expenses, and comparison to budget. We used to have a desktop-based product that very few could access and use. The IconCMO online product is more user friendly and can be used by our staff and volunteers 24/7 from any computer. Cons The Payroll module was a little difficult to learn. Then when you had finalized the budget you could import the new numbers to the new year. Now i do this with a spreadsheet. I called the other day with a question and the person who helped me gave great information that met my needs right away. Icon made some great improvements to the Donations Module recently that have really sped the process of entering donations. Cons No real issues, we are probably not tapping into the full capabilities of the system particularly when it comes to the CRM features. The people are always willing to help me when I mess stuff up or I cant figure out how to fix my problem, even when its a stupid mistake, or question, they are always willing to help me. Pros The Icon CMO software is really easy to use. The donations are easy to put in and go straight to the deposit side off the software so you don' t have to put everything in twice. Cons There is not much that I don' t like about the Icon CMO software, the only thing that is a hassly is when I am putting in contributions I am use to hitting the enter key to go to the next row and I have to use the mouse to click on the next row to enter the next name or number. Reasons for choosing IconCMO Fund Accounting because it had everything we needed in one system, and I liked the fact that if anything ever happened to my computer I could always get into the system and the finances wouldn't be lost, since it is backed up onto their system. In regards to your hassle with the contributions- if you use the tab key or enter key it will move you through the fields in each row down to the 'plus sign' to add the next row. Once you are on that plus sign, if using the enter key, it will automatically add the next line, if using the tab key you could hit the space bar or the enter key to get the next line to populate. If moving through all of the fields of each line is too much, then you might want to use the three dot icon in the upper right to remove the columns that you do not use. This product is easy for the new volunteers to understand, and yet it is powerful enough to get the information the state and federal government requires from a not for profit. Pros This software when used setup right is a real time saver. I use it with all the individuals and groups I work with. If I am out of the office, another employee can login in and see what I have done and when. Cons It could be the way we set it up, but some times I have to go through a lot of screens to find what I want and/need. Pros The fund accounting portion of IconCMO is adaptable for organizations of all sizes. It is relatively easy to use. They provide training products for those who do not have a financial background. There are products that integrate well into it. It allows you to track income and expenditures at every level (contributions, budgets, checks writing, credit card usage and payroll). They provide excellent tech support and the cost is very affordable and well worth the money. Cons The manual for this could be more user friendly in that there are some processes that need to be explained or broken down more on how the system works. It has all the church needs for accounting purposes. Anytime I have called and talked with Icon has been a very helpful and great experience Pros Our Church has been using Icon for about 5 years now but I just started in my roll of financial director for 8 months. This software has been very easy and user friendly to learn. I have had to use this with almost no training and i have been able to navigate with ease. I haven been able to use some of the resources on the site to answer questions Cons I am still learning so I can’t say I have a least part yet. I do this part time, so digging into the whole program has not happened yet.
