Pros It's an impressive software product for all sort of needs regarding OCR scanning, editing and converting. Most common use is converting photos/scans of documents to editable files and it's doing it fantastically. OCR is near perfect, depending on quality of input materials and fonts used in original material. Another very useful option is to compare 2 documents of different types and to check differences in them. You have to use it only once and You remain hooked on it. Cons The biggest problem this software product have is a price. Also marketing/promotional reasoning about it is so lame. Non-English letters can be problematic. Review Source DM Davide M. I have not seen before that digitization was done so quickly. I also like that the program understands not only text, but also recognizes tables. Cons In general, I am satisfied with the program, but the program confuses some symbols. The most frequent problem is when the program instead of zero writes the other letter. The OCR has good accuracy and good results. Cons I wish ABBYY FineReader PDF could be smarter, they have a great tool but it is missing smartness. maybe they can include AI in their OCR to convert text in Word or Excel exactly like the original version. It recognizes scanned pages without any difficulties, and also makes it possible to import Microsoft text just as easily. Cons Not all versions of ABBYY FineReader work equally well. Great way to archive documents digitally by converting to a doc then saving in the cloud. Pros ABBYY FineReader makes it super easy to run OCR on scanned documents. The accuracy is pretty good for standard documents and business cards. Cons The OCR engine was not the best at maintaining anything that is within tables such as invoices. I particularly liked the feature where you can draw the shape on top of the picture to indicate where is the text, where are images or other objects. From there, you have your editable text pretty easily. Cons it is a paid license, but it worths if you find yourself constantly transforming paper into digital documents that must be accessible on the web. Cons Usage all fairly straightforward though I have no comparator - this is the first scan and convert software I have used . Perhaps a little cheaper to purchase in future ? Third World countries often rely on typewritten historical documents for many purposes and a cheaper version would be a boon there. FineReader is helping me out with text recognition. I do not know what to do without it. It saves a lot of time, while the finished text almost does not have to edit. Cons The program consumes a lot of resources. Because of this, I did not immediately understand why my computer began to work more slowly.
