April 10, 2018 4.0 Great recognition, very good with foreign language processing, easily implemented. Pros Finereader is fairly easy to configure and learn how to be a capture pro. It provides as many station processing engines as you need, up and until you hit an annual click amount per page. Cons They are not the cheapest in the industry on a per-page/per-year basis. And, although the software scales well for recognition processes, Finereader lacks a lot of the muscle tools for the conversion and processing of other document digitization needs. (Kofax Capture, PSI-Capture, Ephesoft being better examples at document conversion operations). Review Source DP Dave P. Pros I am able to capture my old documents (1980s-90s) and turn them into usable information for current clients. This is a very big time saver for me. Cons Sometimes the OCR doesn't get all the information accurately. Editing can be difficult and I suspect its because I am not completely familiar with the product, which means that there needs to be an easier way to learn the product. I work as a lobbyist and the software quickly lets me see changes made to bills as they progress through the legislative process. Most of all I like that the program contains many useful features. One of my favorites is Hot Folder. Thanks to this feature, you can customize tasks and the program will digitize the necessary documents automatically. You can enable this feature and just do other things. Cons The program is not perfect. Errors will inevitably appear during digitization. Most often, the program incorrectly digitizes small print or documents scanned in low quality. So, I easily recognize the texts typed by different, even outlandish fonts, and the technology of adaptive recognition helps to work with the whole document, and not its separate pages.
