Cons Since it requires for employees to be actually in or around stores for time clock data to work, some may feel that they are having their employer snoop on their every move or listens to their personal conversations, so they feel privacy is being invaded. Like any other complex software, it takes a while to learn and can be overwhelming when working within the system. If you are a user who will be using the system in depth, you should expect to rely on a consultant or training for the first few months until you have a decent grasp on it. Pros One of Workday HCM's greatest features is its connectivity. As you implement more domains than just HCM, the system has great integration between its parts. This allows for better reporting and information as a whole. Cons Workday HCM is built to be a very structured and cohesive software. In order to maintain this, you lose some of the ability to customize, compared to if you were using a free-flowing code with no limits. The structure ensures that system updates or custom objects never impair different parts of the system or cause breakages. We have monthly QR reports and Workday has come in handy when reviewing over my goals, feedback, and performance reviews. Workday allows me to update my account, provide my payment information and compensation, and if any need to change/update my profile updating my information has been no hassle. Pros What I like most about Workday is their documentation upkeep. You have all your available resources within one browser such as payslips, worker documents, request time off, personal information, and performance. You are able to change your place of birth or marital status without sending or mailing letters to HR for assistance. Cons What I least like about Workday is we have time-sensitive documents and we are not able to go back and review previous signed-off documents if needed such as Job offer letters and acknowledgment documents of company handbooks or regulations. Pros Workday has several, crucial components for employees in one place and is very user-friendly. One of the best features of Workday, from my user experience, is the training platform, which includes training options, from onboarding to ongoing education and development to topics relevant to my role.Additionally, the updates section is a great way to stay connected to what's happening within the company and stay informed about news , updates, etc. Cons I have not found many aspects of Workday that I would consider cons! The only experience I have had which was not as smooth as others was searching for documents or information that I know is housed in Workday and not being able to find it as easily as I felt I should have. Has a lot of potential, but marred by clunky and antediluvian UX Pros Reporting - almost limitless functionality in terms of getting reports on salient information. Can pull just about anything, and as long as the data is clean at point of entry, it will come out in an Excel file very readable and easy to read Linear Process Maps - particular processes are very well laid out and structured if done right the first time around Employee landing page - bright, vibrant, presentable Cons Cumbersome - quite slow. Redundant graphics slow down page transitions, reports take a long time to pull if you are looking for a fairly normal size file, some processes can turn into roundabouts Navigation - back buttons for some, but not all pages, which doesn't make sense (have to go back to home page if you click through to the wrong area). January 26, 2023 5.0 Pros I can take care of all my needs with workday; input attendance, approve hours, submit terminations, job changes, etc. The employees also have access to their vacation and points. They can use it to look up some of their own information. Cons It was a little hard to use at first, it seemed like a lot of work. It is easy to submit time off requests and see my PTO balance. It is easy to keep track of my paychecks and the direct deposit has always been seamless. I also really like the org chart feature that wasn't available in my previous HR software and we had to go through our intranet. Cons I love it as an employee but I really don't like it as a job searcher. When companies use Workday to keep track of their recruiting efforts, it is really clunky from the job searcher perspective. I have to create a workday account for each job application but since it registers as a Workday account, I might have 10 different workday accounts, for many jobs that didn't even give me a single interview. Don't make me create an account until after the first interview.
