### "Great tool to manage my team and my own career"

March 7, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with has been positive so far. As a manager, I use several of the platform’s features on a regular basis, including reviewing employee information, managing absences, and accessing training-related tools. The system generally makes it easy to perform these tasks in one centralized place, which helps streamline day-to-day management activities. The interface is clear and most functions are intuitive, allowing me to quickly find the information I need and complete routine HR processes efficiently. While there are some areas that could be improved, such as report speed and navigation, the overall experience has been good and the platform provides useful tools that support effective team management.

Pros

I appreciate how integrates multiple HR functions into one platform. The learning and training integrations are particularly valuable because they connect learning management tools with employee profiles. This makes it easier to track certifications, training progress, and professional development in a centralized place. I also like the simple and intuitive user interface. Navigating the system is straightforward, which improves the experience for both employees and administrators. The absence calendar is especially useful because it provides a clear visual overview of time off, helping employees request leave and allowing managers to quickly see team availability. Overall, Workday HCM offers an integrated and user-friendly environment that helps simplify HR processes and support effective workforce management.

Cons

One aspect I liked the least about is that report generation can sometimes be slow, especially when working with larger datasets or more complex reports. This can affect efficiency when quick access to information is needed for decision-making or operational tasks. In addition, it is not always easy to find the right report within the system. With the large number of available reports and options, navigating to the specific one you need can take some time. Improving report discoverability and performance would make the reporting experience smoother and more efficient.

### "Workday HCM Makes Everything Better and Continues to be a Game Changer"

January 30, 2026

5.0

Workday has really grown on me and continues to evolve and get better. I do not see any other platforms out there (Oracle HCM, SuccessFactors, etc) that perform like Workday does or are investing and taking the strides that Workday is currently taking. I see Workday as "best in class". Is it perfect - no, but my experience continues to get better with each release.

Pros

Having previous experience at companies that utilized multiple systems integrated together where we had to manage multiple integration error logs and such I really love that is a truly "core" product that brings all the modules HR, Onboarding, Payroll, Benefits, etc. together into a single system. Also, like that there is a reporting component built into the product so that as we configure new features we can also report on them. Also, it is beneficial in that it is translated/translatable so it can be used globally and also has a mobile interface so users can utilize it via a mobile device.

Cons

During the early stages of Workday I was not sure I was going to like it as coming from multiple platforms that was familiar with to a way more robust single platform was a learning curve and initially thought that Workday was very vanilla in that certain basic things did not seem configurable, but over the past few years Workday has become 2nd nature as have become more familiar with the product and the Workday Product team has continued to listed to customers on Workday Community and enhance the product to make it better.

### "Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) - A Benefit's Analysts Review"

January 30, 2026

5.0

In nearly two decades working in HR, finance, and benefits administration across both small charter schools and large municipal government, I’ve implemented and managed several HR systems from basic payroll platforms to comprehensive HRIS solutions. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what promises more than it delivers. This review draws from my direct experience using at the City of Tucson, where I support benefits administration, compliance tracking, and system configuration for thousands of employees and retirees. After working with Workday HCM for over two years at the City of Tucson, I can confidently say it’s a robust enterprise solution that delivers real value. In my previous role managing HR and finance for a charter school, we had separate systems for payroll, benefits, finance, and student information. Every month-end close involved manual reconciliation, data entry correction, and inevitable discrepancies. Workday eliminates that headache. The system excels at what enterprise HR platforms should do: unify data across finance and HR, automate complex processes, and provide actionable analytics. The single data model means benefits analysts like me can track enrollment changes, audit payroll deductions, and reconcile benefits vendor billing without jumping between multiple systems. The real-time reporting has been a game-changer developing timely reports, responding to ad-hoc data requests from City management, and reducing physical paperwork while increasing timeliness and accuracy of benefits enrollments and changes for employees and retirees. As a benefits analyst, the quality of Workday’s benefits module is particularly important to me. The system handles health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSAs, HSAs, and more—all within a single interface. Employee self-service is intuitive enough that most staff & retirees can complete their own enrollments without assistance, which dramatically reduces the administrative burden during open enrollment. In addition to the above, I particularly appreciate the audit trail capabilities. Every benefits transaction—enrollments, changes, terminations—is logged with date stamps and user information. If questions arise months or years later about who made a change and when, I can pull that history instantly. For someone who’s spent countless hours investigating data discrepancies and disputes over why a change was made and how it impacted lives from paychecks to the ability to use insurance benefits, this is a significant quality-of-life improvement. Overall, Workday’s unified data model, comprehensive benefits administration, real-time reporting, and compliance capabilities make it a powerful platform for enterprise HR operations. \*Note that this is my personal & professional review and opinion and does not constitute the official views or opinions of my current or prior employers.

Pros

\* Unified data model \* Comprehensive benefits administration \* Real-time reporting \* Ease of use for employees

Cons

\* Configuration changes require a long lead time. External consultants are a necessity for successful initial implementation.

Pros

### "One Platform. Total Control."

December 24, 2025

5.0

Workday offers a wide range of features that can’t realistically be learned all at once; instead, they’re best understood progressively as your career evolves, which has been true in my case. I began my journey as a Customer Support Advocate (CSA) and was promoted through several roles, eventually reaching my current position as Supervisor of Integration Specialists. In my current role as a team manager, I now have access to and control over many advanced features that were not available to me before. I’ve learned how to create new requisitions as a hiring manager and track external applicants throughout the recruitment process. One experience I’m particularly proud of is helping one of our mutual customers build a full Workday integration for their business using my company’s public APIs. This end-to-end integration automated key daily operations such as employee payroll and data reporting. The project was especially exciting because my familiarity with Workday’s features allowed me to effectively advise on automation and accurately align data points between platforms.

Pros

I first became familiar with Workday in 2019 when I joined my current employer. I quickly learned how powerful the platform is and how easily it allows me to access and track my personal employment information. I especially appreciate being able to view my own and my direct reports’ absence balances, vacation plans, compensation details and employment history, among many other features. The Search option makes things even simpler. Whenever I’m unsure how to navigate to a specific section, it takes me there instantly.

Cons

Learning Workday requires patience and curiosity, as it offers far more functionality than you might initially expect. At first, I faced some challenges with navigation, but once I understood how the different sections are connected, it became much easier to move through the system and explore its features. I believe there are still areas I haven’t had the opportunity to explore yet, but overall, I appreciate how Workday keeps pace with evolving business needs and adapts to dynamic changes within the industry.

### "Efficiency and Reliability in One Unified Platform"

May 6, 2026

5.0

is a highly reliable and sophisticated platform that effectively centralizes all HR functions into one clean, modern interface. The Power of One architecture ensures data is always accurate across payroll, time tracking, and employee records, which significantly boosts organizational efficiency. While it is a robust system with a vast array of features, its stability and seamless automation make it an excellent long term solution for managing a global workforce.

Pros

is a powerful, all in one platform that excels at centralizing HR and Document Management into a single, intuitive interface. Its greatest strengths are its high system stability with minimal bugs and a seamless Scheduling and Time Clock feature that simplifies daily operations for employees. While it is a premium investment, the Value for Money is clear through the elimination of disconnected third-party tools and the high level of professional Customer Support provided.

Cons

The main drawbacks of are its steep learning curve and the complexity of its back end configuration, which often requires specialized training or expensive consultants. Additionally, while the platform is powerful, the internal search function can be finicky if you don't know the exact terminology, and creating advanced custom reports can be difficult for non technical users.

### "Powerful enterprise HR platform with strong analytics, though complex to deploy"

April 30, 2026

5.0

Pros

What I liked most about is the quality of its centralized data model. In practice, employee information, approvals, org charts, talent data, and reporting are managed in one ecosystem. For example, this makes headcount monitoring, workforce planning, and governance much more reliable than using disconnected systems.

Cons

What I liked least about is that implementation and administration can be demanding. In practice, the platform is powerful, but configuration, change management, and user adoption require strong internal ownership. It can also be expensive for smaller organizations.

### "Caveat Emptor"

January 8, 2026

3.0

Workday was not designed for mid-size enterprise businesses. The service was lacking and the support from Workday, directly, was spotty.

Pros

Workday is a robust platform with exceptional features with a good look and feel for the end user along with a virtual sandbox to test updates before they go live.

Cons

I our case, customer support was through a third party as we were "not large enough to get support directly" through . That third party used a case system. Though we could assign a level of priority based on our needs, the third party could lessen the priority level causing excessive delays for immediate needs.

### "Best HRIS at the moment with room for improvement for customer flexibility."

November 7, 2025

4.0

Overall is very good and useful with many possibilities. I really like the processes, integrations, and security management. Also I like the reguler updates on bugs and issues per data center where as HRIS specialist I can be informed and there are no surprises. I would prefer less window releases that can be layout omptimizations, but more updates based on customer suggestions from Community. Overall it is value for money, if reporting and matrix options can be enhanced. I would promote Workday as HRIS solution for more companies.

Pros

Not "boring" for end user kind of more playfull and fancy than other HRISs. For some modules it is very easy to use. And very useful on managing HR processes and can support almost all processes within the system.

Cons

Reporting, not clear on trended worker data source and not easy to combine data and data sources and not easy to make dashboards for higher management, often we need to go to powerbi solution which means exporting sensitive data. Also, there are security limitations with matrix organizations.

### "The tool is great! The company needs to reevaluate their priorities."

November 5, 2025

4.0

I've loved the tool itself. The company is quite rigid with subscription agreements which can be challenging when organizational changes are bound to happen within a 3-7 year period. When I first started working with them, they really cared about their employees and customers and it showed in everything they did. Now, under new leadership it's clear that their priorities have changed and not for the better.

Pros

I love how customizable everything is. We can build everything that our organization needs to track for compliance, document management, HR Management, Payroll Management, Learning and Talent.

Cons

I would like additional options for communicating with our end users. The UI is the top priority for my team and while Workday is certainly improving on this, I think there's a lot more that can be done in ESS and MSS as well utilizing AI more effectively across the platform.

### "Strong all-in-one HCM platform, but takes time to learn"

February 2, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with has been positive. It’s a powerful system that does a lot well, but it takes time to learn and set up properly. Once everything is configured and users are trained, it runs smoothly and supports a wide range of HR needs. I’d recommend it for mid-sized to large organizations that need strong reporting, structure, and scalability.

Pros

What I like most about is having everything in one place. Core HR, payroll, reporting, and talent data are all centralized, which makes day-to-day work much easier once you’re familiar with the system. The reporting tools are especially helpful and give good visibility into real-time data without needing to pull information from multiple systems. Workflows are consistent, and the platform feels very stable, especially for larger or more complex organizations.

Cons

Workday definitely has a learning curve. For new users, it can feel overwhelming at first, and some tasks that seem simple can take time to figure out. Making configuration changes usually requires someone with deeper system knowledge, which can slow things down. Support and implementation can also be expensive, so it’s not always the best fit for smaller teams.

### "Workday HCM - always building and expanding to fit our needs"

November 10, 2025

5.0

I've been using since 2018 as an Admin in all the HCM modules. Over this time, I have seen Workday expand, iterate and improve, and continuously innovate their platform to keep it the forerunner in the HRIS space. This not only challenges me to become a better Admin, but also provide the best solution for our business needs. I think this innovation is how Workday has stayed a top/leading solutions over the years.

Pros

is both infinitely customizable but also within my control as an Admin. Unlike other systems I've used, I can truly make our Workday tenant what I want and what the business needs. This allows us to solve our unique business needs while not having to purchase a highly customized system that is too hard or expensive to maintain. I also love that all of our employee data, benefits, time off, payroll, etc., is all within the one system. This helps create a seamless flow of our HR data to the downstream functions that need it.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to know the "art of the possible" just based on your implementation. I know a lot of customers will go live with a basic setup and it can be hard to know what to do next.

### "Powerful HR platform but heavy to set up and learn"

April 8, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s a powerful HR system that solved a lot of our manual problems payroll accuracy improved and reporting became more consistent. But it’s not plug‑and‑play setup and changes take effort and sometimes outside help. Day‑to‑day it works well, but expect a learning period and some patience with the UI and performance.

Pros

Workday is great at keeping all HR stuff in one place payroll, benefits, time tracking, org charts everything syncs so less manual work. Reporting is powerful once you learn it, and security feels strong which is important for employee data. The mobile app is handy for quick approvals and time entries. For large teams it really helps standardize processes.

Cons

It’s kinda slow and clunky sometimes, especially for new users. The learning curve is steep and training takes time. Custom reports and configurations need specialist knowledge or consultants, which adds cost. Some features feel overcomplicated for small teams and there are occasional bugs after updates that need support to fix. Value for money can be questionable if you don’t use all modules.

Pros

WORKDAY IS A PRODUCT THAT IS EASY TO USE AND HAS HR ALL IN ONE PLACE. IT IS EASY TO ACCESS YOUR PAYROLL INFORMATION AND GET ANY DUPLICATE PAYCHECKS YOU MAY NEED.

Cons

I love using Workday. Easy user experience. You can track your time, plan vacation days with knowing what your PTO balance will be for the time you are requesting. Also, it makes your yearend reviews so much easier.

Pros

I like using Workday because of the ease of use from the app. It makes reporting my time at the end of the week so much easier than in the past that payroll is never delayed.

Cons

### "The Most User Friendly HR System!"

February 25, 2026

5.0

Workday is a very complete HR system which I have had the pleasure of using first hand as a user, and I'm very satisfied by it's features, how easy to navigate it is, and how easy it is to update any personal information I need to. I would wholeheartedly recommend workday to a business looking for a reliable HR system having experienced using it as a user, it is so complex in it's features but also seamless to navigate which makes it a great detailed system.

Pros

Workday is a very user friendly HR interface, and allows me easy access when it comes to booking my annual leave, submitting overtime requests when work has been completed out of hours, reviewing my benefits packages and ensuring all of my emergency contacts are up to date. It is the most comprehensive, detailed and straightforward HR system I have personally used, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as a user, and I imagine it is very straight forward to administrate as well given how easy to navigate it is.

Cons

It is very hard to be negative / suggest improvements about workday, but I would say the one thing stopping it from being a complete user friendly system is the lack of customisation, for example there is no ability to set your own theme / colour code certain things which may cause accessibility issues for some people. Seeing this implemented would be nice but it is not a necessary addition.

### "Powerful and Supportive, With a Learning Curve"

August 15, 2025

4.0

I’m hooked. Workday keeps me curious and growing, and I can see myself staying in my HRIS career for a long time—or even working at Workday one day. The combination of capability and support has made the journey both challenging and genuinely rewarding.

Pros

The Ask‑an‑Expert service has been a game‑changer. They don’t just set things up for you—they show you how to do it yourself. That shifted my mindset from “Can Workday do XYZ?” to “What do I need Workday to do?” The learning investment up front increases value in reusable, scalable setups. I haven't noticed many bugs and issues. If there are, it's because I missed something in the setup.

Cons

The same flexibility that makes Workday so powerful also makes it complex. There’s a real learning curve, and it takes time and patience to understand how pieces fit together. The payoff is worth it, but you should plan for that ramp‑up.

### "Powerful When Done Right: My Experience with Workday HCM"

August 13, 2025

5.0

stands out as a powerful and modern solution for HR operations. Its intuitive design and strategic capabilities make it a favorite when implemented thoughtfully. That said, its complexity can create friction—especially when technical constraints aren’t clearly understood by end users. Still, with the right support, it’s a game-changer. I genuinely enjoy working with it and proudly consider myself a Workday fangirl!

Pros

is intuitive and forward-thinking. When well-built and backed by a strong HRIS team, it transforms organizational efficiency and empowers strategic HR operations.

Cons

can feel clunky when poorly built, and its technical limitations—while logical—often frustrate HRIS teams due to end-user misunderstandings

### "Go Workday and you'll never look back!"

November 5, 2025

5.0

I started with a Workday implementation back in 2013 and never looked back. The way Workday communicates, rolls out enhancements, and supports its users makes it easy to succeed with the platform. They genuinely listen to their customers, and seeing feedback turn into real improvements is both exciting and rewarding.

Pros

Leveraging both Workday Community and the Success Plan assistance makes analyzing bugs, fixes, and enhancements far more efficient and insightful. The platform’s intuitive interface makes it easy to support any area within Workday, since its foundation remains consistent across modules—business processes share the same core structure, objects, and instances. Everything is interconnected, which allows for a truly seamless experience when navigating and supporting the system.

Cons

There is not much I don't like about it to be totally honest. If I had to say one thing as the least would be the Benefits platform especially with reporting.
