It's not something I would deem essential as an end user that doesn't use all the features, but I like that it's there for me to use. Cons I use it so infrequently that it usually takes me awhile to find the exact location of what I am looking for, so the naming conventions of the menus could use some work. I was easily able to onboard and verify to-do documentation. Pros Value. One simple word. Workday's HCM platform is the Bentley of HR software. It's easy to use and provides incredible insights to employee and company data Cons There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to maneuvering through the product. Our implementation took several months and the transition wasn't as smooth as we had hoped. It accurately and succinctly records time. It is simple to report time and provide necessary labels and explanations. Cons Entering time can be tedious. It also takes a while to produce a pdf payslip. Otherwise it is great software. This has proven to be a very effective way to manage the workflow of hundreds of employees. Pros I like how easy it is to track jobs that you still need to do. I can get an assignment from my manager and see it in my inbox. Then once I am done I can mark it as complete. This helps keep things efficient and reduces the amount of time it takes giving my managers updates on projects. Cons Once you get used to it then it fairly easy to use with no real downsides. I do wish that you could say that you are working on something and change the due date as it becomes more of a ongoing project rather than one that you can just say complete. But I guess you could always just make a new project and break it down into smaller parts. Pros The UI is so simple and clean. It is super easy to navigate and work your way around the platform. We mainly used this to retrieve our payroll advice, track our leaves, accomplish our annual performance, goal improvements and even access correspondences. It also allows ease of use when viewing the full hierarchy of the organization chart. Cons The software performance can be improved. I also think the workflow is too restrictive. We began implementing this software just over a year ago and I feel comfortable with it now and it does make my job easier. Pros Workday is our single source of truth in regards to Personnel. It is nice to have one place to go to review, edit, and update information and to have confidence that it is correct across the company. Cons You have to know what you are searching for in order to find it. For example, if I am going on PTO and need to add a delegate to approve things on my behalf, then I have to search specifically for "My Delegates." It would be nice if there was a side bar that could have all these options available to me so I don't have to know exactly what to look for. Review Source David S. Pros The HR Database area is compiled well and onboarding is relatively easy once a candidate has been hired. Can be a little difficult getting into the system for some reason but once in you are gold. I have clients who use Workday and require us to submit candidates via the system. Cons More cons that pros, I'm afraid. The training was long, extensive and confusing. Nothing really seemed easy. You pay $ for everything....an email, a submission, etc. I think it's a very expensive product. It stores everything from Performance Documents, time off information, and salary guidelines all in one place. Cons I still struggle with finding the most effective reports to use. Cons Even though the UI is clean, there's some instances where I'll be trying to find a certain page, form, or piece of information and it isn't in an intuitive spot so you can waste alot of time trying to find one thing. They also offer a smartphone app that allows you to access some of your organizations HR functions on the go. Cons The smartphone app is a little buggy at times, and sometimes you get stuck in a screen you can't get out of without ending the app and re-entering.
