Pros I liked the task management for delegating tasks to my team. The payroll and scheduling systems are pretty straight forward. Cons It's easy to get lost in the bubble interface if you are not paying very close attention. Sometimes I forget where to find certain options because of this. Happy customer! Pros The Time Off functionality is so customizable! With over 17,000 pre-made calculations set up, and the ability to create your own (if needed), whatever you are trying to set up in the system, there's a high likelihood you'll be able to do it. From the training provided, it's recommended to set up different Time Off Plans for any time off type you have, this means more maintenance, but more flexibility within the system. As a general recommendation with Workday, get familiar with the vocab/wording they use to describe the system - it really helps understand the software. Cons Being fairly new to the software, the fact that it is so customizable is very overwhelming at first. I recommend going slow, and reaching out to customer service support, or Workday Community, whenever you run into a snag or question - there are a lot of resources available, and whatever your holdup is, there's a good chance someone has going through something similar and can help you through it too. Pros When ever thing is working right the program functions as expected. Cons It seldom works properly. There are zero work around and if someone else doesn't do something you are dead in the water with being able to hire a candidate. It slowed our internal process greatly. And ever person has different access so you helping someone else and them helping you is a nightmare. It's not something I would deem essential as an end user that doesn't use all the features, but I like that it's there for me to use. Cons I use it so infrequently that it usually takes me awhile to find the exact location of what I am looking for, so the naming conventions of the menus could use some work. It's easy to use and provides incredible insights to employee and company data Cons There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to maneuvering through the product. Our implementation took several months and the transition wasn't as smooth as we had hoped. This has proven to be a very effective way to manage the workflow of hundreds of employees. Pros I like how easy it is to track jobs that you still need to do. I can get an assignment from my manager and see it in my inbox. Then once I am done I can mark it as complete. This helps keep things efficient and reduces the amount of time it takes giving my managers updates on projects. Cons Once you get used to it then it fairly easy to use with no real downsides. I do wish that you could say that you are working on something and change the due date as it becomes more of a ongoing project rather than one that you can just say complete. But I guess you could always just make a new project and break it down into smaller parts. We mainly used this to retrieve our payroll advice, track our leaves, accomplish our annual performance, goal improvements and even access correspondences. It also allows ease of use when viewing the full hierarchy of the organization chart. Cons The software performance can be improved. I also think the workflow is too restrictive. We began implementing this software just over a year ago and I feel comfortable with it now and it does make my job easier. Pros Workday is our single source of truth in regards to Personnel. It is nice to have one place to go to review, edit, and update information and to have confidence that it is correct across the company. Cons You have to know what you are searching for in order to find it. For example, if I am going on PTO and need to add a delegate to approve things on my behalf, then I have to search specifically for "My Delegates." It would be nice if there was a side bar that could have all these options available to me so I don't have to know exactly what to look for.
