The thing I like the most is that it is somewhat aesthetically pleasing. Cons Small buttons, tons of useless white space, awful navigation, AWFUL resume parsing, worthless searching ability. Also, I am able to finally put away my tacky spreadsheet and download this software for a smoother payroll experience. I am able to not worry about my Payroll anymore! Pros I do not think there is a better payroll software out there. Workday Payroll software allows users of all levels of business to submit time sheets in a matter of seconds. No more physical punch cards or tacky spreadsheets. I love the fact that I can have this software as an application on my phone! I can literally correct mistakes, find manager information, or contact Workday Payroll right from my phone! Cons I wish that when submitting my time sheet, the software would send a notification straight to said manager instead of via email. Pros Workday has simple interface, which makes it easy to use. It easily allows the HR team to pull employee information and later help in maintaining the same data. It helps manage all the different info and uses for an employee. Cons I think there is something with the encryption or the platform it was developed on because of which it sometimes returns errors or just freezes. Account Manager Banking Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "not familiar with the costs or competing services but this application was a pleasure to use" June 28, 2018 4.0 Whenever the software wasn't working, I'd reach out to the company IT dept and they'd contact workday to resolve tech issues so I am not 100% sure how their customer support is but the software itself is great when it's working properly. Pros It has a very clean interface. Structured very well and has components for all sorts of HR needs, from viewing pay stubs, to leaving end of year reviews for managers to read over. Benefits like health and dental were available on this and easy to access as well, which is nice as an employee because it saves you the trouble of having to ask around for it. Getting your end-of-year tax forms from it was also easy, as everything is very organized. Cons When the software would act up, it wasn't easy to get a quick fix. Also, when leaving a review or some sort of task for upper management, the process in which you'd have to follow wasn't easy to follow. The save tab on pages wouldn't respond at times, which would prevent you from progressing on these work tasks when they're presented by management. Review Source JMD John Mark D. It’s user friendly enough to work for a larger company. Pros My company uses Workday to manage our benefits and payroll. It’s pretty easy to use and isn’t overly complicated. It’s user friendly. Cons Sometimes it takes several “clicks” to do complete a task. For example, entering a time sheet takes several clicks. However, this is minor and is no longer an issue once you get the hang of it! Pros The layout is attractive and the inital ease of use is definitely there- I was here for the company wide international roll out and it went through fairly easily, which is a positive sign. Cons The training internally was nonexistent, so once issues came up down the line that were not covered by the core feture set (as they inevitably do with HR products) there was a bit of a loss of confidence in the system and how to use it. I feel that Workday should provide some materials with their video for future reference as when my company’s page faced some issues, it took quite some time to resolve due to Workday’s use of an outdated system for customer support. Pros As a user, Workday Performance Management is great as you can log into Workday and see lots of information about your performance, job position (layout of the company), and when combined with other Workday softwares, it makes a great way to track your position/advancement in the company as well as your salary, benefits, and work schedule. Cons While I do not work in HR, or integrate this software with the existing programs, from what I have heard from my colleagues is that it can be very hard to implement the software. There are not many free programs/materials to help you get started so in the case of my company, we had to pay for Workday’s course but even then, some issues have come up but we as a company are left in the blue as the course was a one time video and cannot be accessed again. Pros The platform allows you to manager several different HR related things through a single dashboard, such as posting jobs, compensation, and employee performance. Cons Applying to a job through Workday is terribly cumbersome and not user friendly on either end. The instructions (that were provided via Workday) were extremely easy to follow and allowed me to seamlessly enter my information and follow the screen prompts. Also, viewing my payments and checks was very easy via their online portal. Cons For my personal use, there was no mobile application provided to me so that I could view my payments and confirm that payment was received. Although I did get an email confirmation that I was paid, I would've also liked to see an app notification letting me know payment was received or if I needed to provide any more information. This product has all the key points you require and user friendliness makes it more valuable to customers like us who look for products which can simplify their work and reduce the time waste while running payroll; handling grievances; or taking care of employee data. But it does need a lot of knowledge transfer from the seniors who knows Workday better. Cons Well it's a commercial product like Oracle and SAP and i would consider it is one of the best by far as it is on cloud so i don't have any cons for it you just need to have a really good internet connection. January 23, 2023 5.0 Pros What I really like about Workday - once you know how to use it - it's pretty easy to use! You get used to knowing where the relevant information is and how to access it. I also like the automated reminders - if I need to update something or complete something in my profile, Workday will notify me and allow me easy access to directly go to the area in my profile I need to work on. Cons I do feel like the platform can be a bit difficult to navigate if you don't know what you're looking for. They released an update which changed the UX for an end user recently and it was hard to figure out where to go to find what I needed. I have created custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields. Pros I use the mainly for employee reporting and what I like best is the vast amount of customization you can use when creating reports. There are unlimited options in terms of fields and report types. The platform also has great capabilities for creating visuals and dashboards. Cons What I like least about this platform is the complexity required when creating reports. In many cases it feels much more complicated than it needs to be. Pros I guess it looks ok, and it may function well from an administrative perspective, but I don't have any insight into that. Cons As an employee at a company that uses Workday for HRIS, I have to say I can't imagine something that I want to do less than try to submit my timesheet through this application. The process for submitting my time is so manual and outdated, that the entire idea fills me with dread. What day and age do we live in where I have to fill out forms for clocking in and out, log my meal time, and have to enter these time allotments for every day that I work. Why is there no way to copy times from a previous entry/date, and why is there no functionality to drag and drop my times in on the worksheet instead of filling out 25+ form fields per week that I work? How difficult could this possibly be to fix and why has this not been addressed?
