March 4, 2020 3.0 As far as I can tell, the migration to this software has honestly only caused headaches for our business. Pros The biggest positive I can glean from this software is that in theory it is a singular place that has multiple functionalities (Pay, Absence, Time Off, Talent and Performance, etc.) all in one place. Cons The cons for this software far outweigh the pros. My company switched from Namely, which was a much more user-friendly system. Workday is not intuitive to use at all. I'm all for a system that is streamlined, but Workday looks more barren than anything in each of its sections, and what should be simple is just confusing. It did not integrate well with our previous system, and much of the data we had before now has no place, leaving my company to have to utilize multiple systems for performance reviews, which really defeats the purpose of using an all-encompassing software like Workday. Lots of features integrated within the Workday suite makes it a very comprehensive tool to be considered for any large organization 2. The ability to extract and download historical timesheets is a very good feature for any employee to monitor his/her performance Cons 1\. Understanding and using the entire workflow and tool can be a little confusing at times 2. Some options are little tricky to find and use - multiple hierarchy - options within option can be little irritating at times. It sends you an email update when time is due so I never miss a paycheck. It keeps track of important documents so that I don’t have to! Pros I use this program at work to clock in and out of work. I also use it to select my benefits, my tax forms and submit request for PTO. It’s easy to use, straight forward and they even have an app I can access when I am not at work. Cons Something that I like least about the program is that the app wanted me to change my password after a short time which led to me being locked out of the app. Another thing that is frustrating is that you can’t just click and look at your paystub, it has to be downloaded and there are a few steps to getting it. With few clicks I can track all the internal processes like Education and Training, Referrals, Performance Objectives, Profiles etc. Cons Some UI functionalities need to be improved. Limited functionality to escalate any request. Custom changes are limited. " November 17, 2022 5.0 Pros Like my title suggests, the software is extremely viable when it comes to hiring and onboarding of employees. As a maintenance person we sometimes have high turnovers or increase in headcounts for a particular period of times. This helps us in keeping our things straight. Pros I have enjoyed how easy and friendly the software is to use. A set up of the payroll functions has made for a quick and accurate system to track and submit payroll. The software has outstanding reporting functions for my managers to use. Cons The customer service has been lacking in my experience. During the set up process I was speaking to several different customer service reps and they each gave different response to similar questions. I look forward to the activation of more modules (e.g. payroll management) to bring all personnel task into one system. Pros Very well organized, with clear arrangement of lots of vital information related to my own and my team's work profiles. Good handling of sensitive information and privacy coverage, while at the same time improving transparency. Modular approach to multiple key HR processes allows for gradual adoption. Cons Management options (promotions, transfers, etc.) are openly available all the time, while in reality they are tied to strict company processes and policies. Probably this is a configuration issue for our instance - this makes me think that initial setup and configuration can be complex. I do not have to search hr documents to know where do I fill my annual review, or set goals, it is all at one place and which is really great. Pros Our company uses Workday for setting up goal setting, direct deposit options, annual review and many other things like reimbursement forms, etc. I like that all of these functions are abstracted out to your profile setting and you can easily all the information at one place. Cons Some of the options are closed and can not be controlled. For example deleting a goal, you have to contact the admin to remove the goals. This takes a lot of effort and time. The features and reports available are all great if you can find them. Pros The interface is not difficult at all to use, it does have a lot of functionality, the reports are great Cons finding all the reports available can be hard as they are hidden, getting to features, not on the dashboard are difficult as I did not know about the other 75% of features available to me. I think better help bubbles for some of this would be good and instead of drilling in from dashboard maybe a nice feature would be to have it ask you what you are trying to do and then show you how you can do it. It is really easy to enter your time card and submit it for approval. It is nice to be able to see my pay checks on my phone with app. Cons I don't like when I view my whole paystub on the app it gives me a notification online that I viewed the paystub on the app. I think it is dumb that they don't realize that it is me both times checking it. I use it most for my expenses and it helps me report and keep financial expenses organized so I can get reimbursed in a timely and efficient manner. I know my management team loves it definitely makes the payroll department's lives much easier! Pros I've worked at a couple of large tech companies, and expensing things was always a hassle. At my newest job, I have to travel to some of our different locations for training, and I use workday for my expenses. I can easily upload my expenses, and have it approved by a manager, and get compensated very quickly. I love that Workday is available as an app on my phone as well, this makes it really convenient for me to always stay up to date, and log my expenses wherever I go. Expenses are only one of the features of workday I use, and this is a software that is very expansive . They also have 24 hour support, so they're really good at getting back to you if you need help. Cons I wish I had the ability to customize the layout of the interface. There are certain features I use more than others and I wish I could choose to remove things I don't use. We can track our PTO and request days off in this program, we also can view Org Charts and put faces to names. I can see who works for who and under what department on a chart that they provide which is an amazing tool. We also use Workday for promotions and to send documents through. It is great. Pros You are able to see your colleagues details in term of their role in the company as well as track your furure compansation and get feedback on your performance. Cons It is not so easy to see and get updates whenever a change occurs, but the most thing I didn't like is the fact that it is on the cloud and from security and privacy level it's very risky.
