The layout looks clean and organized and simple. Cons I have a very strong dislike for the functionality of the program. As someone who is actively looking for jobs at a particular university that insisted on switching to Workday in the middle of my job search, I have been able to compare it to the previous state and have seen a drastic decrease in page response speed, confusing cross listings of open positions, the inability to browse multiple filters in different tabs or opening job postings in separate tabs with ease. It provides a full overview of current benefit elections as well as new elections. The process to review current benefits and sign up for next years benefits is seamless. Pros Workday allows me to easily view past pay stubs, access personal information, view information about my team and request time off. Cons The workday system can take some time understand. However the search feature is very useful and helps users navigate. Very helpful and thorough platform Pros Workday was a one stop shop for anything HR related I ever needed in my previous work. Want to see or download your paycheck? Workday. Want to apply for PTO? Workday. Want to delegate tasks? Workday. Want to do performance reviews? Workday. The best about the compensation specifically was that it was very detailed without having to download the statement. Cons As a user it was difficult to figure out how to navigate to certain features. Teaching Assistant Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Workday works okay" July 18, 2021 3.0 Pros My organization switched to Workday last fall and while it has its kinks, Workday tends to be fairly reliable for basic functions like remote onboarding. It took me a while to get comfortable with its symbols and nomenclature, but once you've got it, it's a handy little tool. I like the customizability to the organization -- our page used to look like Workday only, now in combination with some other visuals it really looks like our organization's site. It's also nice to have every faculty and department under one single HR umbrella. Cons It takes a long time to get used to where everything is located and for a while, the notification settings were weird and confusing. The mobile version is also easy to use I can use this software to see how many hours I have recorded for the week, and it is easy to see how many vacation hours I have accrued. The app for iPhone was simple and clean, no gimmicks or confusing language. Time was able to be input and corrected with ease. Cons If I were to use this app without the help of my supervisor's informative meeting, I would be totally lost. I think it would benefit from a user guide or demo of how easy inputing time and checking hours really is. It makes getting access to your time card, benefits, and time off simple. If your company chooses to have different applications on the home screen they are able to do so. Cons Entering your time for the week is a bit tedious. You have to search for the "time type" and then enter your hours. If you don't choose the correct time type then it will not accept your time. It gives you the ability to easily see what performance ratings were during previous years and allows for transparency between the employee and manager. This system can also integrate with a number of different applications, making it a one stop shop for a large organization. Cons Depending on how your company has this setup, it can be a bit confusion finding what you need via the home screen icons.
