It has streamlined financial processes, improved accuracy, and saved a lot of time through automation. Despite a few challenges during the initial phase, it proves to be a reliable and efficient solution for managing financial operations. Pros Workday Financial Management offers a clean and intuitive interface with powerful automation features that reduce manual work. The real-time reporting and analytics are extremely helpful for quick decision-making. I also liked its cloud-based accessibility, which allows working from anywhere, and its strong integration capabilities with other business systems. Cons The initial setup and implementation can be time-consuming and may require expert support. There is also a learning curve for new users, especially for advanced features. I work hard to show this system off and make our employees fall in love with it. That being said, the last few years have been ROUGH trying to defend this system and company. I couldn't be more thrilled to see \[sensitive content hidden\] out and \[sensitive content hidden\] back in the driver's seat. Workday has deviated far from their core values and the things that made me originally fall in love with this system 6 years ago. STOP messing with the search functionality. Get rid of "simplified search" or allow it to be turned on/off tenant-wide. Why is it when I type in 'start prox', the Start Proxy task is the 7th in the list returned? Things like this happen all the time and cost us all time. Very frustrating. STOP over-complicating your customer support model. This has caused us so many issues and grief over the past 2 years. We have not been able to keep track of all the things - functional review, optimization package, etc etc etc. We start one and months in are told that we selected the wrong thing. So frustrating! STOP over-engineering Community. Please bring back Brainstorms. Pros My favorite aspect of Workday Financials is the ability to drill down to transaction level within reports. This is a great feature. Cons I feel as though over the years Workday has pushed functionality into Production too soon; in other words many of the features are, in my opinion, at about 80-90% complete. Prime example would be recurring journals. The idea behind this is genius, however the fact that there is no BP for recurring journal templates sort of negates the idea of allowing these journals to post without approvals (which I imagine is what most customers want, myself included). Another example would be amortizing prepaid schedule installments - how many years have customers been asking to have the ability to schedule installments out to a certain DATE instead of 'Accounting Date Days Ahead'? After working (for a short period) with a mix of programs, then getting to move into Workday with my company, I can't imagine going back. Everything is in one place, can be easily located and acts as one source of truth. There is a lot less room for risk and less labor being spent zigzagging between sources to ensure everything aligns. Pros Lots of flexibility for custom rules/validations, lots of pre-built items available such as calculations and reports. Once you get the hang of your area and related cause/effect, becomes second nature on how to make related changes to align with your company's needs. Cons Sometimes bugs come up that take longer to resolve than desired. They aren't often, but on the plus side, they do typically offer information on how to work around the bug while its resolution is in progress. Review Source PD Patricia D. I liked how user friendly it was. Pros One of the features I liked the most on workday is the design . It breaks all categories into a list and you can click through. Cons The con is that it can become confusing until you get the hang of it. I found the way to request paid time to be confusing. I like the reminders it sends if it's time to submit myu time card. Pros Workdah is very user friendly when it comes to entering and submitting my hours. I also like that I have a HR section to see notification from HR. I like that it lets you manage my vacation leave and sick leave Cons It requires me to change my password to often and I have a hard time remembering my password sometimes because I have so many. I've been using it for years now and it's just second nature. Pros I use workday to submit payments and invoices received. I like that everything is in one space to submit and you can look back on previous invoices and payment. Cons I don't think it's super straightforward. I'm good with technology so I figured it out quickly, but I know others on our team struggled. I also don't like when I'm submitting payments and I have multiple entries with different categories I have to enter all the information over and over. I wish it would copy over. I have worked with other software, like Paycor and PrismHR and neither had anywhere near the capability that Workday holds. Cons The pro is also a con - While the ability to configure all needs is wonderful, it does com with a bit of a learning curve. I also wish topics in community would be more easily found. It takes too much time to do anything. Pros The only thing I like about Workday is the layout. It's customizable and easy to find what I'm looking for. Cons There are lots of things I don't like about Workday like how it makes everything more complicated than it is. It has an easy-to-use interface with a strong back-end for customizing business processes. Easy to onboard and integrate new company acquisitions. Great APIs for billing integration with 3rd party applications. Pros Great integration with Payroll and HCM modules. Complete suite of financial modules. User-friendly user interface. Cons A better integration with Adaptive Planning would be helpful. Some Financial dashboards are not available out of the box. When finally accessing the correct report, Workday is slow to load the report and a pop-up typically appears asking if the user would like to be notified when the report is available. Pros Some of the budget management reports allow users to drill down into specific line items/ spend categories. This feature is great for a quick refresher of recent expenses. Cons There are too many separate reports acting as silos. This often makes it difficult to see the full financial picture without multiple tabs or Excel downloads. We use WFM primarily for accounting and payroll. It has a user friendly interface, set up was somewhat of a breeze. I like the fact that it's a cloud system, makes everything easier. Cons Their help center is lacking. Also for people who are not as tech savvy, it's was surprisingly challenging to find user guides and we had to contact WFM support for that, when they should have been accessible in the first place. The software has great reporting capabilities. In addition, the software offers a range of security and compliance features in terms of data encryption and two-factor authentication, which help to provide greater security for sensitive information about your business operations. Pros The software is intuitive to use and I was able to create reports easily once I understand how the system works. Cons There is a learning curve to using the software when creating hierarchies for your chart of accounts before you can effectively create useful reports. The fact that it integrates with our HRM system makes it easier to drill into certain data sets. Adding attachments to invoices and journal entries has essentially turned us into a paperless office. Pros Workday Financials is user friendly and has some great reporting capabilities. The interface looks fresh and it's easy to navigate. Each new release adds additional utility. The Workday Community is a great tool to post ideas and get real world advice from other companies experiencing the same issues. Cons Workday runs slow sometimes, especially on days when we're loading payroll and there's a lot of data going through the system. Sometimes Workday gives cryptic and seemingly random error messages. Cons The language, terms, jargon are very specific to Workday nomenclature rather than based on industry. Some concepts are quite unique and sometimes unnecessary when compared against a Coupa or other provider. It is so simple and really streamlines the work process between employees and employers. Pros I enjoy that all of our employees use workday and it makes it very simple to approve their time, as opposed to having to check time cards or check into another account. You can do everything from Workday, enter your time, ask for time off, track employees time, send employee messages, check your pay stubs, see your benefits, and lots more. Cons I don' think there are really any cons! It is very simple to use, and is easy to access from a phone as well. Pros Processing my invoices is easy and finding old files is a breeze. I process invoices, adjustments (credits and debits), and there is no issues. Its easy to process those as it kept all the information from the supplier to easy the processing. The reporting and research its very easy with an array of ways to find what I'm looking for. Cons Nothing at all. Very user friendly, easy to learn and so "jointed" with all aspects of the AP. Very happy my employer has this program. April 13, 2018 5.0 Allows me to register new levels of financial efficiency and business performance with Workday accounting software, I could quickly respond to anomalies as they happen with reports and in-memory accounting, I could manage all activity with configurable business processes. A great benefit is that I have accomplished to change proactively to internal and external changes without IT resources or costly customizations. Pros I like most is that it gives me the possibility of having all the analysis of my management in a single financial management system. I find it interesting that it helps me to lead strategic planning and find the best ways for the profitability of my new business. Cons I'm practically new using the tool, but I think it would be useful to include the possibility of including the initial data of the company and predict its productivity in the short term. Nobody likes to fiddle around with software that looks outdated and glitchy when they’re dealing with their paycheck. Pros This has been the most intuitive software for entering payroll information and altering personal information for payroll as well. We’ve never had an issue with Workday and plan on using it forever! Cons The only difficult thing to figure out is how many hours you have for the week. Sometimes when you have holiday hours or vacation hours it’s hard to tell how many hours you actually have for the week without submitting it.
