Now it simply pulls the data directly from its source, providing each department access to viewing the exact same dashboard. This alone saves me several hours per week since I no longer have to perform manual updates to charts. The manager’s simply login to view the trends without having to request that information from me. Works okay for what we require. Pros I wish this shift would end I am in pain. Anyway I am using the Logility Platform to take our unorganized spreadsheets and combine them into one dashboard. I love the fact that I don’t have to understand coding to use it and I simply drag and drop the widgets where I want them. It also ties all of our various database systems together allowing us to finally see what both the sales teams and finance team are doing in one location. Prior to this we were completely dependent on manual updates to Excel. Cons Additionally the date filter widget is extremely buggy and usually doesn’t even function properly with the first click. Getting information as to how to correct issues with Logility is an extremely frustrating experience due to the confusion created on their help site. When attempting to export a report, it will send the entire dashboard versus the single specific chart you desired. They are charging way too high of prices for this application considering at times how clunky it performs. Also getting set-up initially was a significant amount of effort as well. I'm still surprised that the Google Sheets connection doesn't break daily. Pros Logility Platform's dashboards will actually pull data from their systems as opposed to showing you a white screen most of the time, and I think this is awesome. It also gives us a centralized location for our client’s numbers, therefore they no longer ask me where the file is. The security is also good. Cons My least favorite thing to do with my stakeholders is explain to them while we are both standing there staring at a spinning loading wheel for three minutes due to a slow hang caused by large historical datasets and Logility Platforms inability to handle such data. In order to customize your own plots, you need to have some knowledge of technical stuff. The learning curve is extremely difficult for non-technical people. I find changing the data type of columns to be an annoyance. But since it handles the terabyte sized tables automatically for me, I don't have to do it myself. It also has great customization options. Pros You are able to store your search results and use them with other users. In fact, most of the time the data loads without breaking down (half of the time) as I fully expected it would with our huge inventory table size. Cons I dislike having to only grab partial record sets instead of all of the results after copying output. As far as billing goes, it is ridiculous how quickly the cost will increase. We use logility platform to integrate different systems within our company so the raw data actually makes sense together. Pros I like that i don't have to write code to make it work and you just drag and drop boxes together to clean up your raw data and then it does the cleaning of the data for me. The bus is running late again and im so hungry i could eat my shoe but at least building predictive models today at work was fast. You just connect it to our crm (customer relationship management) system and it does all the math without me having to learn python. Cons It uses way too much memory on my laptop when i run big datasets and sometimes it will completely freeze and i'll have to start over which is super annoying. Trying to get help from support people is a joke. They just keep sending you in circles. I hate that you can no longer pull the code out of it as we used to be able to. And I am no longer required to spend countless hours writing every line of code necessary to generate predictions. It helps me link other systems together so that all data can be used to help each system function properly. All in all, it makes completing my analysis easier and faster so i can leave sooner. Pros The logility platform works fine. Drag-and-drop the small squares to create your data pipeline in a few clicks without having to write code, great. The auto-find for my sensor logs selects the most fitting model with no need for me to tweak it for an eternity. Cons It takes literally forever to load at times and hogs way too much ram. My laptop fan was screaming about 20 minutes ago. Some of the python libraries were pretty irritating to get working as well. They just won't work smoothly or easily. I miss being able to simply pull the python code direct from the tool, however they removed this feature for whatever reason. Now everything has become easier to handle. Pros I'm just glad that the Logility Platform no longer crashes every time i pull the SQL data into the reports. The drag and drop chart's aren't bad, i guess. I am typing this out on my cracked iphone screen in the freezing warehouse office as i wait for our 3 pm truck to dock and my hands are numb. As usual enterprise software is a nightmare. Logility handles the excel files from the finance guys ok. Cons The problem is when you try to load a large data set, the loading wheel just spins forever and you're wondering if your computer died. Dax formulas are so confusing, i missed one comma yesterday and the entire inventory count was zero, which caused panic. I hate the licensing. Because nobody can see the reports i make unless we pay more money for them to have access. Honestly, we could probably just hire two more employees to do this but I'm impressed the 3-way matching functionally works without failing. I can also create a history of invoices from here. My lack of motivation has been cured because I can now scan pictures of receipts even though the mobile application is awful. Pros Logility platform set up was reasonably quick I suppose. The basic workflow tool does what it's supposed to do. I'm glad it does handle our Amazon bulk orders (it doesn't crash). People also do use the supplier portal. Cons Its user interface looks as if its been sitting since 2008 and when you try to edit the amount on a PO it gives you an error message that makes you throw away the whole order and drive you nuts. Basically it stopped us from making decisions off three different versions of the truth. Pros Ok i know you can hear the kids yelling in the background and im gonna have to bear with that, the most important part is that Logility has both demand planning and inventory/supply chain functionality within one platform rather than the prior practice of using multiple spreadsheets (5) to jump between. I can pull up the dashboards and visually analyze how demand inventory and supply chain are related to each other; and since these dashboards sync with our erp system the numbers i am analyzing are actual, not 3 days old. Forecasting accuracy improved since switching to Logility and that was not something id expected. Cons Setup was longer than we were told - i mean a lot longer. Its a little petty but the ui still looks kinda out-of-date. Finding an exact metric thats titled differently than the dashboard title takes a while. Why cant they be the same. Ad hoc reporting/analysis isnt nearly as flexible as id like it to be either. Sometimes i still have to find a workaround to view the data in a certain way across various geographies. We no longer use a million spreadsheets for finance trends because it just works. The API built the model for us so I don’t have to work late building them by hand. Pros I am very relieved Logility works fine with Snowflake and Salesforce. I think most of the non-technical people will be able to drag the objects around and it will not crash. The AI portion creates the descriptions for the chart and I was surprised that it created something that had some real meaning. The docs were better than expected. The Kubernetes build was quick which I did not expect at all and that was good news. Cons Windows users are dead and buried while Linux get all the new toys. Why do I have to write a script to change a font or add a simple word wrap to a widget. It is very frustrating that I cannot figure out what metrics are hiding from me unless the dashboard title has the exact same name as the metric. With Logility we are able to use all the information in one place; therefore, we are all working with the same numbers. In addition, it allows non-supply chain individuals to view the performance metrics without requiring someone to interpret them for them. Pros I think the most important feature for me is the Dashboards; I am able to see how demand, inventory and supply all relate to each other in one place, without having to wait for IT to run a report. The flexibility in the data modeling layer allowed us to take input from different systems that were previously separate. Now management can access the data themselves instead of sending me an ad hoc request, which has significantly reduced the number of requests I receive. Cons The initial set up and configuring the cubes took much longer than I anticipated. It is not something you would be able to pass along to a non-technical individual and then walk away from. Additionally – and I know this is a minor complaint – the pricing model for licensing has changed over time, in a way that is frustrating, as things that were included previously are no longer included today. Overall, I find support to be good, however, the amount of time it takes to resolve certain configuration issues has been lengthy.
