Vice President of Sales Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Logility Finally Makes Sense of Supply Chain Data" March 9, 2026 5.0 Before using this product, all our data was segmented into silos (Demand Planning in one system, Inventory data in another, Finance in their own spreadsheets, etc.). With Logility we are able to use all the information in one place; therefore, we are all working with the same numbers. In addition, it allows non-supply chain individuals to view the performance metrics without requiring someone to interpret them for them. Pros I think the most important feature for me is the Dashboards; I am able to see how demand, inventory and supply all relate to each other in one place, without having to wait for IT to run a report. The flexibility in the data modeling layer allowed us to take input from different systems that were previously separate. Now management can access the data themselves instead of sending me an ad hoc request, which has significantly reduced the number of requests I receive. Cons The initial set up and configuring the cubes took much longer than I anticipated. It is not something you would be able to pass along to a non-technical individual and then walk away from. Additionally – and I know this is a minor complaint – the pricing model for licensing has changed over time, in a way that is frustrating, as things that were included previously are no longer included today. Overall, I find support to be good, however, the amount of time it takes to resolve certain configuration issues has been lengthy. Review Source LE Lisa E. I don't believe we were given sufficient advise in the beginning. We have since transferred to new account and project managers and things are moving along nicely. My advise would be to understand the software using simplified data first, once you have a good understanding of the extractions, transformations and how those translate through SQL to the BI tool, you are on your way to building a user friendly BI tool. Pros The ease of creating dashboards and reporting and the transparency and self service of the Data Warehouse. Cons The amount of time the BI tool takes to load and the high cost of upgrading to more bandwidth on the server. This software was the BI tool in use. I found it was not intuitive to use and was rarely used. As luck would have it, with personnel changes, I found myself as the main person to use. Now everything has become easier to handle. Pros I'm just glad that the Logility Platform no longer crashes every time i pull the SQL data into the reports. The drag and drop chart's aren't bad, i guess. I am typing this out on my cracked iphone screen in the freezing warehouse office as i wait for our 3 pm truck to dock and my hands are numb. As usual enterprise software is a nightmare. Logility handles the excel files from the finance guys ok. Cons The problem is when you try to load a large data set, the loading wheel just spins forever and you're wondering if your computer died. Dax formulas are so confusing, i missed one comma yesterday and the entire inventory count was zero, which caused panic. I hate the licensing. Now all of our data is in one place and it takes me about five minutes to run a scenario compared to waiting days. I spend less time correcting for manual errors now, therefore I am glad that I can focus on actual design. Pros The calculation engine has done okay since it handles the logic without me needing to write code. My elbow is stuck to a coffee spill on my desk as I type quickly. The way that it actually links financials to sales, which is odd. I am just happy that the formulas do not blow up when we add more information. Cons I would say that the "learning curve" is basically a wall and that you need to be somewhat an expert before you are able to avoid messing things up. It cost too much money over the long haul. I also hate having to shut down my computer and then log back in again due to the browser network timeout. We no longer use a million spreadsheets for finance trends because it just works. The API built the model for us so I don’t have to work late building them by hand. Pros I am very relieved Logility works fine with Snowflake and Salesforce. I think most of the non-technical people will be able to drag the objects around and it will not crash. The AI portion creates the descriptions for the chart and I was surprised that it created something that had some real meaning. The docs were better than expected. The Kubernetes build was quick which I did not expect at all and that was good news. Cons Windows users are dead and buried while Linux get all the new toys. Why do I have to write a script to change a font or add a simple word wrap to a widget. Honestly, we could probably just hire two more employees to do this but I'm impressed the 3-way matching functionally works without failing. I can also create a history of invoices from here. My lack of motivation has been cured because I can now scan pictures of receipts even though the mobile application is awful. Pros Logility platform set up was reasonably quick I suppose. The basic workflow tool does what it's supposed to do. I'm glad it does handle our Amazon bulk orders (it doesn't crash). People also do use the supplier portal. In addition to all of this, the extremely fast calculation engine will allow us to run large scenario models quickly and honestly, it is the reason I am able to complete my job within enough time to actually leave for the day. Pros I'm happy that our business staff (Finance & Sales) is able to make their own changes to our logic instead of always having IT Implementation do these simple fixes. And the logic changes made by our staff are identical in concept to how the other office programs work, so I’m thankful we didn’t have to learn anything new and they are also adding new features constantly or whatever is gained by the product by doing that. Cons You have to be doing something massive with it to justify the cost of this product, otherwise it’s way too expensive for basic tasks. I would say the biggest complaint I have, and I mean major complaint, is the concurrency issues – that blue box that locks you out of a process when another user is running a process, it seems like this is happening to every client we have and they complain about it all the time This creates downtime for everyone and you just sit around and wait and wait. The trends for our Supply Chain are now available visually. It shows how the performance metrics are performing without having to click through 20 separate folders. Pros Instead of opening a pile of mail, I am doing this so yeah, it takes those raw data and creates the graphs and I am happy that it did not crash my computer during the initial setup. It ties into both SQL and Excel so I no longer have to manually merge them. Cons It has been a real challenge trying to set up DAX, as the formulas never seem to be correct and it gets very slow once you add a lot of data to it. I hate losing all the formatting on an exported PDF for my boss as it makes it appear that I don't know what I am doing. Review Source PB Peter B. So it increases our forecast accuracy and I don't need to run for manual updates. Pros I use Logility Platform to plan the demand and supply process. It makes it simpler to gather things from different places and model in a easier way. And what I like is that it provides real time view of how the supply chain is performing without any need of spreadsheets. Cons Atfirst you might think the interface is hard to adapt to but it gets better over time. Also there are aspects of the configuration that needs more use of technology by me. It also sometimes freezes when running large data sets which is irritating and it needs to be fixed. The integrations into multiple data sources was a huge plus for us. Cons One of the only issues we had with Halo was the limited integration into a SDLC for building and managing code. Our users have easily adapted to using it and greatly prefer Halo compared with SSRS reports and/or connecting Excel to a cube. It still uses the reliable Microsoft backend (database engine, SSIS, & SSAS) and makes it all usable without having to be an expert in everything. Pros Very user friendly for both users and administrators. As an administrator of several applications, I've found this is one of the easiest to learn. Most of all I see that the product is being actively developed and improved which gives great promise that each and every bug/feature request can and will be addressed. Now it simply pulls the data directly from its source, providing each department access to viewing the exact same dashboard. This alone saves me several hours per week since I no longer have to perform manual updates to charts. The manager’s simply login to view the trends without having to request that information from me. Works okay for what we require. Pros I wish this shift would end I am in pain. Anyway I am using the Logility Platform to take our unorganized spreadsheets and combine them into one dashboard. I love the fact that I don’t have to understand coding to use it and I simply drag and drop the widgets where I want them. It also ties all of our various database systems together allowing us to finally see what both the sales teams and finance team are doing in one location. Prior to this we were completely dependent on manual updates to Excel. Cons Additionally the date filter widget is extremely buggy and usually doesn’t even function properly with the first click. Getting information as to how to correct issues with Logility is an extremely frustrating experience due to the confusion created on their help site. When attempting to export a report, it will send the entire dashboard versus the single specific chart you desired. They are charging way too high of prices for this application considering at times how clunky it performs. Also getting set-up initially was a significant amount of effort as well.
