Pulling benefits and elig for pts, this site tells you if the pt has other primary ins, and what it is, to verify we have the correct information in our system. Being able to view multiple insurance company information for elig for pts. Cons Not being able to submit claims, viewing fee schedules for all insurance company's. I am exhausted, mentally and physically from dealing with the daily outages and problems. Pros I am so disappointed in the product. I was forced into its use by insurance carriers through my office and it is so ineffective. Cons There are DAILY glitches in the software that make it so that I cannot do my job . . . customer service does not exist, you are given a scripted response that "we are working on the issue" and nothing ever gets accomplished and tomorrow there will be a new problem. Pros It is very easy to pull eligibilities, obtain authorizations, and even add users using this portal. Cons The Provider Directory Management can be confusing especially if you have multiple doctors. Availity is a great concept, but doesn't work more often than it does. Cons No one responds to trouble tickets. The remittance viewer times out regardless of how active the window stays. Pros I use Availity mainly to verify insurance eligibility and benefits. I like that it is quick to access and find the information. Cons The biggest problem is that the information is incomplete or false. It often creates a situation where the information is searched on Availity and then a phone call to the insurance carrier is still needed. This ends up causing more wasted time. Pros I like that you can check multiple insurances on this website at a time and that it saves your last search in case you need to go back to it. Cons When it comes to the explanation of benefits / billing side of things, they keep trying to improve things and in my option its making it worse. The old way, was the best way. Don't use Availity if you can avoid it. Don't pay any fees to them to use their additional services. not worth it. Waste of time and money. I really wish Availity would change their platform to actually work. Pros Availity is the worst platform I have ever seen or used. I really really dislike how the platform is laid out and how non-userfriendly it is. You really can't accomplish anything on this platform. I have certain insurance companies that I work with that request that we use Availity. This is the only reason that I am using it...forced to do it! Pros I like the layout of patient benefits and remittance advances. The design is very user friendly and efficient. January 16, 2020 4.0 Unfortunately with most insurance carriers either refusing to give benefit quotes or being automated response systems most physician's offices have no choice but to use Availity to look up basic patient coverage. Availity has a claims benefit and remittance viewing area but at least 80% of the time these system tools are unable to retrieve any claim information. At least the software is free to use. Pros Availity allows for physician's offices to look up patient benefits from multiple insurance carriers in using one online system. Cons The information Availity provides for each patient is mostly generic, for example you can retrieve basic copay amounts to collect but not specific coverage information. Pros We use this software to check insurance eligibility for our patients. Its quick! Has multiple search options to find your patient and the results are easy to understand. Cons If there is something that can be considered a con: It would be the verification of information on a quarterly basis. We are happy to be able to have so many tools from one product. Pros We use availity daily. For everything from verification, to details. We are able to have a one stop shop for multiple look ups. Cons I love it all. If I had to choose one detail for improvement it would be ease of reporting. However we have notice that reports are a issue with several products. Pros It has drop down menus and check boxes that make it virtually impossible to submit the wrong information for insurance billing. It walks me through a claim step by step to allow me to do my chiropractic insurance billing. I also like that it shows me patient benefits with up to date co-pays and deductible information. Cons I wish it offered access to more insurance companies. It has the main ones that I use, but there are a few that don't allow me to check benefits and eligibility through Availity. Pros Nothing works as intended for long so im not sure Cons Requirements to set up a new account have waaay too much personal information needed. Overly intrusive questions about personal information that have no relevance to a sub account to a business account. " March 13, 2018 3.0 There is no other software out there to find info on Regence patients. They have a monopoly. Pros In comparing Availity with other software of the same type, there are not many things I like about Availity. I can add providers to one log on, that is helpful and efficient. Ease to switch from page to page, provider to provider. Cons The info needed to find eligibility on patients is a lot and time consuming. Too many clicks to get around the site. The process is pretty streamlined. Cons You have to pay for a premium subscription and with some payers you have to have the member ID or you can't get eligibility information.
