Pros

I can submit claims electronically, which is a good thing.

Cons

This software is used for too many types of companies. When you submit a claim, you are asked to provide repeated information about the client throughout. It does not remember anything about the client from week to week, so each time a claim is entered an enormous amount of information is gathered again and again. The transition from one field to another is not smooth. They could do SO much better. Why don't they?

Easy transfer between medical software and their system. Great reporting system & customer service that you can speak to that day.

Cons

System wide payor problems should be corrected & recognized by them. Instead you have to make them aware before its addressed

Pros

Easy to navigate benefits and insurance verification. The added feature to verify pre-determination by CPTs is a timesaver. Remittance search easy to navigate. Love being able to see CMS benefits and eligibility. Easy to navigate to payer spaces for additional information.

Cons

Claims search can be cumbersome if you don't have a claim number already. Also, wish more insurance companies available versus having to log in to different portals.

I like the ease of being able to electronically bill several insurance companies at once. It is also nice to be able to retrieve eobs.

Cons

Sometimes bills that show as accepted on the availity portal, somehow disappear before the insurance companies receive them.

The doctors I work for our contracted with a ton of insurances and this software helps me avoid having to call insurance companies!

Pros

This software has a lot of benefits! I use it to get estimates for our patients, check for CCI edits, checking patient eligibility, and much more! The doctors I work for our contracted with lots of insurances so it is nice to be able to access so many of them on one website!

Cons

The only thing negative that I can say about this software is that it takes a little while to learn how to navigate...not the most user friendly site I use! Once you get that part figured out though it is very helpful!

Pros

I do like the convenience and ease of use of the site. The software is very up to date and mostly helpful.

Cons

Despite the software's good points there are a few bad ones. One being that the list of insurances you are able to look up is particularly limited. Also the patient information is not as informative as it could be, meaning as far as patients responsibility it could be a bit more descriptive.

My overall experience is really good. It allows me to use the availity website rather calling the insurance company. My attention can be on the patient without being rude on the phone and avoiding wait times.

Pros

Viewing benefits and processing referrals are simple, fast, and smooth workflow.

Cons

Of course when the internet fails then the website becomes unavailable.

Pros

I like having access to multiple payors information in one place, with EOBs, eligibility, and claim status.

Cons

It is super hard to navigate the different payors, and often times complete information is not available.

I wish it flowed easier. For instance, if I look up eligibility, then be able to go right from that patient to status of claims without having to input information all over agian.

Pros

I like to be able to pull up eligibility for patients

Cons

It is not easy to pull up information at all. You have to input too much info and then find out it was the wrong site that you were accessing for that particular patient.

Pros

This product allows us to research patient's benefits and/or claims in realtime with accuracy.

Cons

This product doesn't seem to work for all insurances. Works well for Anthem BCBS and Humana, But doesn't give claim status for VA, which might be the VA's fault, but we can't get a straight answer.

I think this system is fine. Perhaps better architecture on the admin setup side would have been more helpful. Overall, it is an adequate product with mediocre support systems.

Pros

It provides easy access to employees for learn the billing software platform. The customer services are helpful once you finally get through to the department you are looking for.

Cons

It is definitely clunky. Sometimes you will input incorrect data and the system will not tell you where you have made the mistake.

Pros

I use this product for my business on a weekly basis. I can research claims for certain insurances and also look up benefits for clients. Never had any issues.

Cons

It's hard to figure out at first. Even after looking through some of the tutorials and manuals it's not real clear on what to do to research. I had to teach myself and finally figured it out.

I like that it should work.

Cons

May have been developed by the same folks that made the Zune. Not intuitive, and has not worked at all. Not the chat feature, not the uploading feature, not the preauthorization feature. Almost like they make profits by having folks jump through hoops and give up. Hmmmmm.
