### "An EMR That Delivers Real Clinical Impact"

Our overall experience has been excellent. Sigmund is more than a vendor, they are a true partner. Recently, a revenue cycle consultant working with our organization commented, “I have never worked with such a supportive and responsive EMR vendor.” That sentiment accurately reflects our experience. Technology evolves rapidly, and new capabilities are constantly emerging. What organizations ultimately need from a technology partner is responsiveness, forward-thinking development, and a commitment to staying current. Sigmund consistently delivers on all three. It has been a strong and collaborative partnership, and we are excited about the continued innovation ahead.

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of Sigmund Aura is their exceptional and highly responsive customer service. They consistently listen to the needs of their customers and demonstrate a genuine commitment to our success as an organization. Their AI capabilities are particularly impressive. Aura’s ambient listening, customizable templates, and flexible AI models allow documentation to be tailored to the specific needs to meet expectations of clinical, medical, quality and compliance. Feedback from the AI initiative across our entire patient care community has been overwhelmingly positive. These tools have meaningfully improved documentation quality, supported more accurate reimbursement, and significantly reduced the burden of typing into the medical record. Most importantly, Aura enables clinicians to spend less time on screens and more time with patients. There is tremendous opportunity within Aura to continue leveraging AI and machine learning, such as intelligently pulling data across the record, reducing clicks, and automating routine documentation tasks. In my 20+ years in healthcare, Aura’s AI capabilities represent the most impactful EMR innovation I have experienced. There has never been a time when an EMR solution had this level of potential to positively transform clinical care so quickly, and Sigmund has executed on this vision more effectively than most EMR AI solutions in the market.

Cons

It is difficult to identify substantial drawbacks. While there have been areas where functionality was initially more limited, Sigmund’s product roadmap is a strong reflection of how closely they listen to customer feedback and respond with meaningful enhancements. For example, insurance verification of benefits and insurance tracking capabilities were once fairly basic, but Sigmund has since released much more robust functionality in this area. Their responsiveness to customer needs and continuous product evolution significantly mitigates potential concerns.

### "Meeting needs"

Pros

The elements we appreciate the most about Aura Elevate, the Sigmund software product that we use, is the Golden Thread elements within the EHR. This is the reason we decided to use this product as opposed to other products. Other elements that we appreciate is the embedded forms that enable us to sign documents anywhere without having to use paper and the ability to share necessary updates with referents and contacts quickly and securely through the contact portal.

Cons

One of the most frustrating things is unfortunately a by-product of one of the features that we also appreciate. Because forms are embedded for signature, and the assessments are connected to the golden thread functionality, Sigmund staff have to add every item to the system, which takes time and does not allow us to add updated forms or assessments to the system very quickly.

### "Horrific and crippling experience "

My company switched to Sigmund in July 2021. Our revenue, which had seen steady growth every month since 2016 , immediately plummeted in HALF. The program was never set up to bill correctly. They limit the number of people who can request support tickets and they make you pay for support and training. After begging the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] for help for months to fix the billing situation, he suggested I switch to their billing company. I did- and the losses got worse. I am happy to share details of my story with anyone who is considering using Sigmund. Please feel free to email or call me. Even this week, all of our billing codes for the entire year changed overnight from 90837 individual therapy to residential therapy, triggering hundreds of denials and causing countless hours of work to change them back. The entire year (Jan to August). Aura is not intuitive to use. It is constantly going down, there are a million bugs in the software that inhibit the user experience. Everything about it is smoke and mirrors and it’s not worth the price.

Pros

Customer support is quick to help out. We moved from Sigmund native because we were mostly happy with that. We do not regret sticking with Sigmund for Aura.

Cons

We would like service names in the claims screen. We would like it if the schedule didn't reset when editing appointments. For example, marking an appt not to bill and then having to go all the way back to the patient's account and back to their appointments just to work on another and then do it all over again for the next. We emailed a wish list a while ago. It would be nice to be able to split payments between two claims when posting as opposed to having to credit the payment, make a list of credited payments, and then go into each indiv. client's account to apply the payments.

We are a non profit so it seems like too expensive for what we're getting. They also wouldn't let us out of the contract when we didn't like it.

Pros

I like the availability of templates to make note writing easier.

Cons

I just wish it more capable of personalization. I always use DAP notes so why can't that be the default? All my notes are non-billable, can that be a default? Why don't my treatment plan objectives show up in my notes anymore? Everything is just so simple yet complicated at the same time. It is not user friendly.

Unfortunately very disappointing. We were promised functions up front that still do not exist. Getting support feels near impossible. I have essentially given up. Clients can almost never access the portal for whatever reasons and we end up having to help each of them.

Pros

“Same as last” note function is helpful.

Cons

No capacity to store credit card information for auto run. This takes up a great amount of time for a team of clinical staff who should not be handling client money.

the convenience of switching from Sigmund to AURA vs the hassle of setting up with a different EHR. Some areas are easy to use.

Cons

There are some challenges with scheduling such as it always changing to different week then the one you are working on, Some of the system can not work on without access to old system, Some of the challenges on updating things such as forms, programs and services.

My overall experience with Sigmund Software was positive. Despite initially having a rough start, we were met with a ton of support by \[sensitive content hidden\] and the team.

Pros

We appreciated the support that we have received by the Implementation team, namely \[sensitive content hidden\]. As the project manager, I worked closely with \[sensitive content hidden\] - and she has been an incredible support to me and our team throughout the ongoing implementation process. From the very beginning, she brought clarity, and was responsive, reliable, and deeply invested in our success. She just didn't troubleshoot problems- she empowered our team to understand the system well enough to feel confident and independent.\[sensitive content hidden\] style cut through confusion and avoidance. Her steady follow through have made a significant difference in reducing stress and increasing efficiency during a critial change period. She consistently met us/me where we were, took the time to listen and understand our process and challenges, anticipated potential challenges, and offered thoughtful solutions (or helped support us in finding them). She also challenged us to think clearly, take ownership, and learn the system properly. What made her and the Sigmund Implementation team's approach effective is that it is backed by deep expertise and genuine investment in outcomes. Each member of the team wants systems to work well and people to be competent and confident using them. They take the time to provide the tools, guidance, and follow-through needed to succeed. Their support throughout training and beyond has strengthened our workflows, help us identify and reduce errors, and raised the bar for how we operate within the EHR. \[sensitive content hidden\] and the team just doesn't support implementation- they drove it forward.

Cons

Not so much things I don't like- but I do wish for the following: a detailed booklet to identify each "Staff Securities" options with how to's for unique security scenarios (ex. how to limit access to clients who are famous). I also wish there was a way to configure securities to account for more privacy and confidentiality within the system-- for example- to allow for other therapists to complete group notes for clients without having access to the entire client file; securities to only allow supervisors to look at notes created by other staff (currently all staff can look at notes created by other staff within the program- it's either all or nothing). I also wish there was a way to provide feedback on suggested features that could enhance my current user experience... and when provided, user feedback was utilized, or maybe voted on by other users to be included in the next release.

The software is user friendly and the support staff are extremely prompt and thorough in reviewing requests to questions or when issues may arise. During implementation I worked with an excellent group of Sigmund staff, \[sensitive content hidden\] They displayed an outstanding knowledge of the data base. They were attentive to our needs and requests. Their enthusiastic approach to the implementation was exceptional and with their excellent communication the process was not as painful as past system implementations I have experienced (five in total). Even after our "go live date" these remarkable ladies stayed by our side and continued to streamline our processes and system.

Pros

The system set up and the ability to easily maneuver from screen to screen to locate desired information.

Cons

Reports - There are a large variety of reports that are available but would like to have the ability for all staff to be able to combine report data or easily create their own reports.

Overall, Sigmund Software has provided an EMR in Aura that helped us get much better visibility via data and analytics to improve our patient service delivery and cash collections. They have been readily available at times to support product enhancements and serve as thought partners about how we can leverage Aura to continue to improve service quality and increase financial performance. While there are ways I would like to see Aura improve, the Sigmund team has consistently been helpful and the product has been an unlocker for our organization. The Support function has generally been responsive to our needs/requests and the Implementation team (shoutout to \[sensitive content hidden\]) was very helpful in equipping our organization for the switch and ramp to Aura.

Pros

The best aspect of our experience with Aura has been its compliance guardrails and absolute visibility with data. We have been able to build in compliance into the fabric of service delivery and chart updating with the built-in guardrails available in Aura. Additionally, Aura makes it possible to see data on nearly every aspect of the care process, from scheduling to delivery to billing/collections. There is nothing that we can't access the data to better understand. This improved visibility was a gamechanger for our organization, as it gave us the insights and information to truly understand the business at a new level and highlighted where changes/improvements could be made. Without Sigmund Software, we would not have the high level of data-driven management that we have today.

Cons

While Aura provides a total package that covers many aspects of the business as a one-stop shop, this also means there are aspects of it that are behind some of the other offerings available. For example, its CRM and patient engagement functions are severely lacking compared to some other software offerings in the market. Additionally, there are processes, especially scheduling, that could be made more efficient in the software and could reduce the amount of clicks it takes. This has been a consistent piece of feedback we have received from our center-based staff.

We implemented Sigmund Software in March-June of 2020. To say this was a stressful time would be an understatement, trying to implement a new EMR system during COVID. Thanks to \[sensitive content hidden\], our implementation went incredibly smooth and she was always available to help and find creative ways to solve our problems or issues. She has continued to be a resource over the years and has made our experience better each time.

Pros

The clinical module of the EMR was easy to navigate. The implementation process with \[sensitive content hidden\] was exceptional.

Cons

We have struggled with the medical module and billing module meeting our needs fully. Both modules have been somewhat clunky and require manual processes.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health - they are very knowledgeable in the field, with small and big organizations.

Pros

I was wary at first because the 'sales' team was so helpful and nice... I asked for numerous meetings and really took my time with this investment. They were very patient. The onboarding process with the team is easy, they listen well and can really work to individualize the product to your specific needs. After the soft launch so many things went wrong... and they were right there with me fleshing them all out, cheerfully and willingly. They were responsive and helpful. That is all I could ask for. Now, we are in the midst of running and I still have confidence in their product and customer service.

Cons

Because many companies can have their assessments or forms uploaded there are many... but there is no overall inventory of what is on hand, so in the beginning it is frustrating trying to figure out what preloaded items will work for your organization.

The implementation process was amazing- they worked diligently to make sure things were customized to my specific needs.

Cons

I’m not sure if it’s the software or the billing, but it’s been a struggle!! Patient charts aren’t updated in a timely manner and billing statements never seem to go out.

The software gives you a bang for your buck. It has all the features needed to run a group practice. Love the billing component of the software.

Cons

The ease and usability of the sotware tends to be combersome but once you get use to it it flows. Also for Aura the agency administrator should be able to make changes without contacting support to do the change. More autonomy sholid be given over the security matrix.

Reason for choosing Sigmund Software

They gave more bank for your buck and was somewhat customizable.

Fair to poor.

Pros

Opportunities to see what other members of Recovery team are doing. Perhaps it is more suited for those doing purely Psychologic. Counseling, and other NON-Medical work.

Cons

#1 Poor Medication software. Difficult to enter medications and directions. #2 System often malfunctions. #3 Anemic History and Physical Exam choices. #4 Must open individual COWS and CIWA assessments. This makes it very difficult to see overall pattern of drug withdrawal (CLINICAL OPIATE WITHDRAWAL SCALE) #5 Since new Update we can not longer see which patients have not had History & Physicals by using the Reporr to "Clients without Assessments."

Pros

i can see more than one record at at time

Cons

i do not like the fact that i cannot scroll through multiple pages by using my mouse or cursor instead i have to go back up to the document and hot the arrow, it is very awkward and time consuming; also having a lot of billing issues
