### "Revolutionized my sales follow up"

June 13, 2019

5.0

I used other CRMs in the past, but love using BuilderTrend. Its simple setup has allowed me to keep track of my customers as well as provide better follow up to my clients. I just utilize the Sales section of BuilderTrend, but it has improved my client relationships and increased my overall sales.

Pros

Buildertrend is great--I love using the Activity Calendar and Lead Report to keep track of my follow up with my customers. I can use activity notes to remember what I discussed with customers when we last spoke, and this helps me engage in better dialogue when I follow up with customers. Our installation team loves using the project management feature to keep track of our installs and provide an easy transition from sales to installation.

Cons

The user interface is kind of clunky, especially on the app. Sometimes it is difficult to find stuff and the filters can get annoying.

Switched from

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.capterra.com/p/61368/Salesforce/)

I was not in charge of the switch, but we switched because BuilderTrend was a better value product and was better for us for integrating our sales CRM into our project management CRM. I've heard BuilderTrend costs less per month than SalesForce.

### "Comprehensive and Efficient Construction Management"

April 8, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Buildertrend has been very positive. It’s a comprehensive platform that keeps construction projects organized, from scheduling and budgeting to communication with clients and teams. While it takes a little time to get fully comfortable with all the features, once you do, it significantly improves efficiency and project visibility. For anyone managing construction projects, it’s a powerful and reliable tool.

Pros

What I like most about Buildertrend is how all-in-one the platform is for construction project management. It streamlines scheduling, budgeting, and communication between teams and clients, which saves a lot of time. I also appreciate the mobile app—it makes it easy to update projects, track progress, and share documents on the go. Overall, it keeps everything organized and accessible in one place.

Cons

The main drawback of Buildertrend is that it can be overwhelming at first due to the sheer number of features and options.

### "Proceed with Caution"

December 4, 2025

2.0

I’ve been a long-time Buildertrend user, and while the software itself is fine and generally works as advertised, I’ve run into a major issue that anyone considering this platform should be aware of: it’s extremely difficult to export your information if you ever decide to leave. I attempted to cancel several months ago, only to learn that there is no simple or bulk way to download years’ worth of files, photos, proposals, and customer information. Because I’ve used Buildertrend for several years, manually exporting everything one item at a time would take an unreasonable amount of time. I reached out to support, expecting a solution, and was told that there is no option for bulk downloading data — something I find very hard to believe for software at this scale. As a result, I’ve been forced to continue paying for a platform I’m no longer actively using simply because I need access to my historical project data. For contractors, builders, or construction businesses considering Buildertrend: be extremely careful. Once your information is inside their system, retrieving it later is a massive challenge. If you’re planning to switch platforms in the future or just want flexibility, keep in mind that your data will not be easily portable. Great software should empower users — not lock them in. Unfortunately, until Buildertrend addresses this major issue, I can’t recommend it without serious caution.

Pros

Fairly decent software and there are a lot of features, but takes a lot of time to learn how to use it

Cons

terrible customer service and technology advances are not top priority. They also make it incredibly difficult to retrieve your information and export it out if you cancel.

### "Buildertrend for the win! "

April 7, 2026

5.0

Our company used us for several months and got great feedback from most of our clients about its reporting features and it made us more organized in how we managed projects.

Pros

I liked the customer view of the daily report being a single page report about their project. It was very clean and the automatic emails sending out the report was a nice feature!

Cons

Its scheduling function works but can be very simple. When working on larger commercial projects it won’t allow for the complexity needed.

### "A decent software"

January 25, 2026

4.0

Pros

Buildertrend effectively centralizes project management, scheduling, and communication. The tool helps me keep field teams, office staff, and clients aligned throughout the entire project.

Cons

At first, the range of features can feel overwhelming. Some functionalities overlap and require time to configure in order to fit internal processes.

### "Ok for small builders"

November 5, 2025

2.0

it was ok, and would be great for a low volume company with cookie cutter house builds. This will not work for huge volumes and customizations

Pros

was excited to use a program that worked and made what we did easier to handle our big load of projects

Cons

Instead of ease of use and making the load lighter we struggled figuring out where everything was, having to rearrange and re enter what we had already put in. We were told it can be used for custom builds when actually it didnt work for that

### "Buildertrend keeps our renovation projects on time."

July 3, 2025

5.0

We had more control over timelines and budgets. Less miscommunication, less waiting on everyone else our team just gets more done with fewer of the headaches.

Pros

The scheduling and client communication tools are my go-to. I’m able to manage subs, monitor progress and update homeowners in real time with live changes to the schedule all from the same platform.

Cons

There were a few teething pains early on, particularly importing our old projects. Also, not all subcontractors were fast to transition to the app.

### "The new Job Costing Budget works great!"

June 16, 2025

5.0

Pros

Its everything together in one software, the new Job Costing Budget tab is very accurate and we can control the entire job budget from there. Also it allows to do changes to the estimate after is done.

Cons

It can be a bit confusing using it for the first time. The tab "Selections" for the homeowner choose options is not very user friendly.

### "Love the messaging system, but no longer receiving updates"

January 15, 2025

4.0

Our Company has used CoConstruct for a number of years. There are definitely some specific features that we would love to see implemented. But overall, CoConstruct has given us the ability to manage all our projects. Our sales team loves creating estimates using the program, and scheduling is simple and easy to use.

Pros

My favorite feature from CoConstruct is the messages system. Clients can read and respond directly through their personal email, which is a real bonus for older clients who are technology illiterate. It also allows us to keep all of our conversations centralized and documented. And mid conversation, we can toggle between a team-only chat within a client conversation which is such an amazing feature.

Cons

They are no longer updating CoConstruct. While they say that they won't sunset the program in the near future, it still feels like it is on a countdown timer before you are forced to switch to BuilderTrend.

### "Looks decent but functionally very poor"

February 19, 2025

2.0

I have been using it for a couple of weeks and having come from various construction software systems I am finding Buildertrend really poor. It feels like there has been some effort put towards the look and feel but functionally it just feels like everything is a workaround. the financial module is too far behind the functionality of a Quickbooks or Xero so it makes using it for processing really poor. We are looking for alternatives.

Pros

Project management side of it works well. Support team very responsive and AI chat tool useful.

Cons

Its not made for UK! You have to add VAT manually to every proposal/quote and invoice! Connection to Quickbooks is very basic and locked to one user! No concept of Corporate clients with lots of contacts. Each Contact is a client. Bill input is really slow in comparison to Quickbooks. No OCR features which is standard nowadays. CRM tool is very basic Reporting is very poor. Basic stuff like how much have i invoiced this month across all projects? cant do it!

### "One of the best construction softwares out there!"

October 14, 2024

4.0

Overall I believe Coconstruct is a well rounded software that can be learned easier than many of the other construction software out there. One of my businesses still uses it to date.

Pros

I loved creating and sending estimates with coconstruct. Once you put in the work to create your templates with your cost items you pretty much have a full system in place where any salesperson can easily use.

Cons

For many years the coconstruct team would occasionally update the software and add features. Until they stopped doing it after they were bought out by Builder Trend. Not sure if that is still the case today.

### "Disappointing"

February 8, 2021

2.0

Initially, we thought it was ok. Every day we worked, however, we found more and more workarounds. they far outweighed the positives early on. Truth is, the salesperson had MORE than enough information to know that we wouldn't be a good fit, but they lied to us. As a service-based business, this is a joke of a program. It's made for companies with FEW customers and FEWER jobs. If you're trying to get by with not activating your customers - nothing works correctly. the system ABSOLUTELY does not "integrate" with Quickbooks. It only accepts SOME information - and what it allows leaves you having to duplicate entry more than 1/2 of your jobs data. Even moving from the "leads" module to a customer after they sign, only gives you the BARE minimum information on the customer. Most of the data doesn't even transfer. When you try to do more - like we hired a professional consultant for $600 to help us - we just found out more lies and more problems until we finally gave up.

Pros

The customer integration is nice. The system was stable even out in the field.

Cons

The customer service STUNK. The sales staff knew FULL WELL what we needed and why, and they lied to us to get the sale. 6 months in we found out the REAL answer of the Quickbooks integration - basically it sucks. We were looking to eliminate places of duplicate entry - not create more. Document management is horrible. basically a DOS system where you can't even scroll in between photos. Lack of ability to have a customer, be a trades partner, be a subcontractor - which happens all the time.

Wendy, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. This isn't the typical feedback we receive + we always strive to provide top notch service to our customers. I want you to know that we've heard your feedback + will reiterate to our sales team the importance of ensuring a good fit. We're specifically designed for custom home builders and remodelers, but many other businesses, like yours, can find success with CoConstruct. In a review of your interactions with our team, we did do everything we could to accommodate your needs. All tickets submitted were addressed + when your 1st coach wasn't a fit, we assigned a new one + extra sessions to help with your success. We're are surprised to hear about your QuickBooks concerns, since our integration is widely considered the best on the market. If there are any other specifics that you'd like to share, we'd be happy to dive in more. We hope you are able to find another application that is better designed for your business. BW, Marketing

### "Don't waste your time or money."

August 16, 2024

1.0

Cumbersome dinosaur of a product that doesn't live up to its potential. We now use Ressio software and find it much more easy to adopt, a more honest sales team, and easy to use and integrate into our processes.

Pros

I didn't really like anything about Buildertrend except for their promises for usefulness.

Cons

That they repeatedly told me that the software could do something that it could not in fact do. After I was thousands of dollars into it with subscription fees and set up labor including countless hours on the phone with their support - we discovered that it could not in fact do what the salesperson said it could. Major waste of my time.

Great product for any construction company/builder. Keeps projects schedules updated as well as can be a great resource for photos from site.

Pros

Cons

### "Great software for job organization!"

February 4, 2020

5.0

Overall Buildertrend has transformed our company for the better and brought us successfully into the future. We were able to go from all paperwork to virtually all digital. Files drawers full of paperwork sorted by each job are a thing of the past. Now all the information anyone needs is all packaged nicely, per job, at our fingertips!

Pros

I love the all encompassing information housing Buildertrend provides for each of our jobs. All of our team members can access this info with ease. No more information hiding in private emails or documents hiding on company drives...all of which cause major problems when team members are on holiday or out sick.

Cons

There are a few quirks and drawbacks I have found on Buildertrend. The most common qiurk seems to be the inconsistency of the same functions across different sections in Buildertrend. For instance uploading a file is done one way in one section of Buildertrend and a different way in another. Same with deleting items. In one section things just delete, in other sections you have to verify deletion and then select done...two extra steps. In the Leads section I can send a document out to be signed whether or not a customer has a log in to Buildertrend, but in the Change Order section (once the lead is a job) I can no longer send documents to an external emails for approval. I have to use Docusign to get signatures. This is not very streamlined. Seems like they had different teams writing code for different sections and they never communicated to each other on how to keep functions consistent throughout the software. The worst drawback is that there is essentially no function for schedulING. The scheduLES within each job are great, but when it comes time for a foreman to see what team members and subs are scheduled on what jobs and what ones are available to schedule, there is no function :(

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

We chose Buildertrend over other CRM and data management software products because of it's focus on the construction field and all of the features and integrations it offered to really provide that one stop shop for our business to run off of.

### "BuilderTREND Review - Property Management Company"

January 27, 2022

BuilderTREND has been a great tool that has continuously allowed us to grow at over 30% annually. We purchase over 50 properties per region/do constructions on those properties. BuilderTREND has been able to help us stay organized and on top of things as we scale.

Pros

Our company and employees really enjoy BuilderTREND due to its project tracking capabilities. In addition, it is able to integrate into the third-party product we use (Salesforce). This makes this product an obvious choice for our companies needs.

Cons

### "Co Construct Revultionizing Business Management For Remodeling and Custom Home Builders"

December 12, 2019

5.0

Co Construct has improved operations efficiency in several of the companies I have worked with. Co Construct is able to take a project from the first contact all the way through completion and provides an accountability for the client and the contractor which has been a big support gap in the past decade. Co Construct improves the builder and sub contractor experience as well with features that provide a daily log of comments and photos from the subs to the contractor in one place that is stored for record. Co Construct has also made keeping track of financials much easier and creating and facilitating change orders from the field. All of the features of Co Construct are streamlined in the mobile app for easy to train functionality with employees, subs and vendors. Overall I just cant express enough how Co Construct continues to improve the Remodel and Custom home sector of Residential construction.

Pros

Co Construct is so much more than a project management software system. Co Construct integrates your entire business operation into one easy to use cloud base platform. The support team dedicated to Co Construct users is a feature that no other company in this field can match. Co Construct continues to innovate their product daily through their client based interactions and feedback. Co Construct has gone above and beyond through their development of a "Community" discussion board within the existing software that enables all of their clients to interact with each other and the Co Construct ambassadors. Co Construct offers Co Camp training as well as Co Con (annual conference based on builders engaging with other builders) this is a unique approach to not only improve clients knowledge of the software but will assist them with overall productivity in their respective businesses. The Software itself is very easy to learn and very adaptable to any size business model. Co Construct has a library of videos to assist with the onboarding process. Co Construct has made a huge investment in securing their clients information as well.

Cons

It would be very difficult for me to identify anything that I do not like about this software. Co Construct has done a phenomenal job of identifying and improving any areas that were lacking in the offered software package and continues to develop more efficient improvements. I look forward to the future as they continue to grow the Leads feature as well as integration into the mainstream calendar support.

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

Co Construct is a very specific software model geared specifically to Residential Remodel and Custom Home builders. Co Construct has stayed true to this specific construction niche. Many of the other products are geared more toward service sectors. Co Construct has a pricing model that is more in line with being able to service the smaller companies or companies like Cullum Homes a NAHB award winning company. Co Construct is just so much more than a software company and really provides award winning support to improve their clients business systems or in many cases create those systems side by side with their clients. Co Construct's mission and vision continues to focus on its existing clients as well as future clients.

### "Bad FInancial Reporting. Don't use this software. "

May 26, 2022

2.0

I really don't like it and each year as they grow their customer service gets worse and worse.

Pros

it has great visual organization and options.

Cons

the payables and receivables don't link. it is very difficult to make sure you have billed everything you have done and even harder to report this to your client. Also, they claim to have product integration with QuickBooks but it does not work. They couldn't figure it out nor could a QuickBooks pro consultant we hired. We paid quit a bit of money and never could get QuickBooks to communicate.

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

I didn't I dropped them after 3 years because they didn't do updates they said they were but still increased their price by 80%. Also, they claim to have product integration with QuickBooks but it does not work. They couldn't figure it out nor could a QuickBooks pro consultant we hired.

### "Good construction management tool with much potential"

December 22, 2014

3.5

Pros

I like how Co-construct can help with scheduling and keeping a project more organized. The new scheduling tool is a big step in the right direction. It is fluid, user-friendly, and very functional. If all of Co-construct was patterned after the look and feel of the way the schedule is built, that would almost do it for me. There would, or course, be a few little things here and there I'm sure, but the majority of it would be there. I it also nice how honest and open you guys are to constant improvement. This is the best way to be the best!

Cons

It is too much like a social networking program and not enough like a professional tool.

Response from Buildertrend

December 31, 2014

Hi Colby, Thanks for the input. It sounds like you’ve already shared your feedback with our support team, which is good. We’ve got all of your suggestions logged. However, I did want to specifically respond to a few of your points, since they are items that we actually addressed in some recent updates or are functions designed to provide features that are helpful to users who may be choosing to use the system a little differently from you – which is fine, since no two custom builders operate the same way: #1 – We have been adding some more full-screen options, such as with the new Gantt, Task, and Baseline views, which will grow as large as your browser window and screen make available. #3 – The Activity Manager feature does allow the viewing of a particular partner’s schedule across one or more projects to see scheduling conflicts. You can also have a multi-partner, color-coded view for seeing scheduling conflicts without having to run a report for each partner. #4 and #5 – The term “files” vs. “documents” is a bit of a matter of personal preference. However, within the last week, we’ve upgraded the photo upload tool to a cleaner interface and with better drag-and-drop features for getting multiple pictures into the system quickly. #6 and #7 – Not all of our builders find a need for the separate questions and messages sections, but the questions feature does provide a great way to avoid the issue of a client asking a question, forgetting to respond to it, and then having the client lose faith in your ability to track open issues. With the clear indication of whether a question has been answered, it makes it easier for a builder to not overlook an outstanding item. If a client posts a question, and you decide that you want it elsewhere, you are able to click a link to move it to another spot in the project. #9 – Some builders like to put everything into their schedules. However, having a separate schedule vs. to-do feature allows you manage your larger, planned activities on the schedule without cluttering it up with the small everyday (but still important) items that pop-up. You can quickly add those kinds of items to the to-do list from the website or mobile app. Our reports allow you to see, modify, and close out items from both sections in a single view. So, while it’s obviously your choice which sections you want to use, many of our users find it very helpful to keep the schedule and to-dos separate. #12 – I agree. This is a popular request that I would like for us to address. #14 – The Contacts page does provide a single place to access all of the people involved in your operation, whether they are clients, team members, prospects, or trades. We do have some other screens for managing the specifics if one of those contacts is, for example, a trade partner who needs access to just certain projects.
