### "Love everything other than the pricing"

When I started working with a team from Signature Building Systems, I first "met" Buildertrend, since then it's been a fun ride. I did change a lot for the team since then (which is kind of what my thing), and probably upped their productivity by a lot.

Pros

More than their financial and sales solutions, unique features, I loved how much resources they had for someone new! Though I have used tons of PMS over the years, there's always something new with them, all of them. So, the resources helped me to run through them, fast.

Cons

They are excellent! Don't get me wrong. But god, they are pricey! I have this thing for most PMS though! I think they charge a bit too much.

### "Game Changer"

If you're not using this program and you have competition in your area that is. Get ready to be had. I tell people all the time, "If you don't have this, you're not competing on the same level as me."

Pros

Effective at streamlining the construction process and technical support that cannot be beat. This program has allowed us to make more money on each project as well as allow us the control to handle more projects at one time with the same management team.

Cons

There is a lot going on with this program. So you will need to take time to settle into using every function. It can seem daunting at times but the technical support makes it much easier. Does not have a calendar that we can use at this time. If there were a calendar more like a day to day calendar like Google Calendar this would make our type of work much easier to schedule. As it is now the calendar is good for new construction where you're subbing most if not all of it out, but it doesn't function well for in house day to day operations like estimating or when guys have multiple stops in the day.

### "Fantastic Customer service and quality program"

We are avoiding a lot of double handling and repetitive tasks. Such as todo lists! these are automated in our timelines now so that our trades are sent a copy of the to-do list required for the Quality assurance inspections on each trade. Once all the items are complete they can click it and assign the person who checked these items. Then when our supervisors go through there are significantly less minor defects and an overall better quality finish for the clients and the trades involved

Pros

Scheduling is the main reason we decided to go with this software in the first place. But we have had several meetings with the team at buildertrend about implementing more and more of the available options within buildertrend to make our day to day simpler and the gain a better result on site.

Cons

The cost is a little on the high side as they determine a job start to even program in a schedule and budget for a client (even should that job not go ahead) I've since been informed that should I remove the jobs I could possibly get a refund on that particular job start. As we are a renovations specialist we do multiple jobs which add to many job starts for smaller amounts and shorter periods of time. As a new home builder or other larger scale jobs, this is certainly a beneficial program to be using

Overall we are very happy with the software and are continually looking for ways to use more features to improve our processes.

Pros

CRM is excellent. Project scheduling is working well but we don't use all the features. Estimating and budget management is fairly easy to use. Like the features for high level management of projects but not for site level and day to day management.

Cons

There isn't as much flexibility in using the software how we would like for our workflows. You are pretty locked into doing things the way the system is set up. Also, some of the features with templating don't carry over into new jobs when imported. It makes using templates sometimes a waste of time and not as beneficial as they can be. Project management for site supers is less effective and lacks some of the features needed for day to day management.

I have been using Co-construct for several months and it has been one of the Best investments I have made for my company. I tried much other scheduling, estimating programs and this one by far are the easiest to work with. Being somewhat of a Luddite, most applications are difficult to comprehend. I'm also from the old school-"if it works, don't fix it". In this case, it wasn't so much fixing as it was enhancing, making my work easier, like switching from hand tools to machine tools. The price? In my opinion, I have saved countless hours by not repeating the sequence of transferring information.

Pros

I like the ease to work with. However if not for the "over the top support", it would take me longer to learn the product, not so much because it's difficult, but because I have a difficult time with computers and learning any new computer program. Don't get me wrong, this product is not simplistic. On the contrary, it is very professional. I like the fact that I do not have to send and receive countless emails, change orders, etc. Everything is done on the program. I like the fact that my customers, supplier, and sub-contractors have free access to it and can use it for communicating EVERYTHING, schedules, timelines, pictures, plans, you name it. I cannot say enough good things about the support team. They are available almost 24 hours. You are dealing with people who know how to communicate effectively, in good English (they are in the US). They make their own videos to explain something for difficult people like me and always follow up. This is the best part of this Company in my opinion.

Cons

The only complaint I have is from my clients and sub-contractors who get confused how to sign in, but once I contact the support team, within hours they respond directly to those people and assist them.

### "The Salesforce of Construction Programs"

The service has been A+++. I've never had better service with any product - and I mean any product. It helped that my first service rep was as good as it gets. She knew the product cold, she cared about helping me, she was patient beyond reason, and was friendly with a great sense of humor. This made it fun to learn the program.

Pros

The BT team continues to improve this product weekly, both in terms of usability and features.

Cons

Construction is a very complicated business. Unfortunately, any good software has to incorporate a lot of that complexity. This means you have to put a serious effort into learning the ins and outs of the program. But if you do, you will reap some excellent rewards.

The business problems we are solving involve less time verifying invoices as they come in. Since we had a prior Purchase Order issued to the trade we can just confirm the work is complete and mark ready to pay. It saves time verifying contract amounts and prior payments made. It also saves from doing double entry of entering the invoice a second time into Qbooks because it will sync and enter from the "ready for payment" feature. We have not given our clients (owners) access yet; but soon we would like to implement that and allow them to see progress photos etc.

Pros

We like it's ease of use for all in our organization.

Cons

We dislike that inactive cost codes still show up for users to select rather than a delete function and get rid of them altogether. We also dislike that we can't do mass payments by checkbox for the WePay function and that you can't select multiple PO's to pay at the same time and come out of the same WePay check. I also stopped using WePay because I have multiple steps to then have it talk to QuickBooks whereas if I cut live checks from QBooks it communicates nicely back to BT to mark the PO's paid in full...

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

I believe BT to be competitively priced and affordable for small businesses who can't handle a lot of overhead.

### "AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS"

In short, awful. I would never do business with this company after the way we were treated. The salesman was hands down the most arrogant and unprofessional person I have spoken to in my research for a new PSA management software for our firm. I would avoid builder trend at all costs!

Pros

The features they offer are great but their company culture and the people they employ are unprofessional and rude.

Cons

The salesman assigned to our account was very rude and unprofessional. We were ready to purchase the software but decided not to because we were sooo turned off by their rude and unprofessional salesman.

### "Best project management software"

The Builder trend University really helped me understand the ins and outs of the program. There is so much to this app that I strongly recommend new users attend the University.

Pros

This software is easy to use and fits our company model well. The customer service is amazing! The video tutorials are easy to use and understand.

Cons

The estimating section is difficult to navigate when each project is unique. I can't create a template for repeated use.

We are the solar installer and this helps us to communicate with clients and post daily updates on each project. We also, keep important data under each concern folder.

Pros

This is the best user-friendly and customization software. I like the daily log feature the most where I can post daily updates notify others and read what my co-workers and clients post. Another important feature is you can upload and save all of your important docs under the specified folder without being worried about your doc size. It also helps us to communicate with our clients and colleagues.

Cons

This is a little slower than other software. i.e, Salesforce. While posting an update I can't tag a specific person. Other users have access to edit or delete my comment. On To-Dos I can't edit my comment.

I'm the owner of a company that builds 8-12 pre sold custom homes per year that range from 1M to 5M. We take the customer experience very seriously. How we take care of our customers has earned us the State of Texas Builder of the Year and we're a 2 time National Master Builder of the Year. As good as I think we are, this will make us better. I rarely get online and post reviews, but feel compelled to do so for the Co-Construct software. I just implemented the software and I have to tell you that I am VERY impressed with how easy the system is to use and the fact that its very well thought out. Within only two weeks, I have all of my current projects online with very demanding customers using the system. The emails have stopped and all communication is going thru the system. These are big homes with tons of selections and features. I already have actual feedback from my customers thanking me for implementing this system and how they now feel that were listening to them. They no longer feel that they have to print emails and put them in folders. They've told me that it's actually fun to use and they feel like the process is under control. I have one customer with a 2M+ home under construction that this week showed the system to a friend that wants to build as well, and said, "Look what my builder does for me." Overall... very easy to use... designed for the custom builder... very well thought out... Have not found one glitch yet... I'm an Apple computer user. Apple products are intuitive. They just work. The best way I can describe it is that Co-Construct works the way my brain works. If you think it should do something, it does and it is intuitive to use. Is very apparent that the person responsible for the concept of Co-Construct was on the client side of a custom home at one time. This is a game changer for my company. More importantly a game changer for how my clients feel we took care of them in the process. I can't wait to be in front of my next prospect and show them the difference this system will make for them. The support team has been there with us. There have been a lot of questions, but every one was responded to the same day and it was always user education vs. software problems. The custom branding is great as well. Not perfect, but VERY good. I would like to customize it some more, but I haven't asked them. I bet they would do it if I asked.

### "Lots of Pros and Cons"

We have kept track of change orders better and that has increased revenues, we have not dropped the ball on leads any longer because the reminders are set in the app.

Pros

It allows us to track leads, communication with them, track job scheduling and communicate change orders easily.

Cons

Customers have difficulty signing in and understanding the software, the reports are terrible, when you use filters you can only filter on past X number of days instead of the previous month. Almost all companies run reports on a month beginning to end basis and you have to manual do this each time. I can't look at number of leads per sales person or leads by source for a given time period.

Price point, which has gone up substantially and for our company size it's a big chunk.

### "An "OK" Entry Level Software for Construction"

It feels like it was developed for builders who used inhibited internally operating processes. Coming from a 2-billion/yr commercial & industrial construction company I have a very firm grasp of how processes in this industry should work. This software is tailored to the Residential builder. If they want to break into the Commercial sectors, they'll need to revamp the way it is structured. Building a software based on processes that are already inefficient makes it difficult to scale the product because adding additional features only compounds the problematic scalability even more. This is a decent product for a company that has a desire to become organized, but the moment they achieve that goal they will outgrow this software (unless they make changes to the overall structure of the platform).

Pros

The software is cloud based so it can be accessed from anywhere with a data connection. It covers a wide variety of construction operations tasks (schedules, time-clocks, invoices, estimates, daily logs, selections). Essentially "one software to rule them all". At $300/mo, it's economical enough that I'm "happy" with the overall performance.

Cons

The product scalability is relatively weak. The web application has seriously diverse functionality but it is not very intuitive compared to modern software and it is difficult to transfer and report data effectively. Specialized softwares do a better job at integrating/exporting information so we will eventually (very soon) out-grow this software.

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

My First Choice (Procore + SmartBid) is more than our company can afford ($900/mo +) so we needed a more economical solution for now.

Pros

Buildertrend has EVERYTHING you could ever ask for and more all in one place. Create your account, keep updated about daily task, reminders to invoicing and billing each part of you job. Send messages to vendors, and even buyers as they are able to access Buildertrend along with you and, contractors or the vendors to keep informed about what's happening with their new home! Very useful program!!! Easy to navigate and super user friendly with all the support you could need at anytime!

Cons

It can take some time to learn everything you need to know about this wonderful program because their is literally SO much you can do on Buildertrend, but the customer support team is always there if you have any questions or issues whatsoever.

More communication by way of pictures with customers in BuilderTrend. Invoicing is a great benefit.

Pros

That it is a great communication between the builder and the customer plus the schedule helps immensely with the sub trades as well

Cons

BuilderTrend only links to QuickBooks online not to the desktop version. I also used to like the way that Change Orders worked, now it has been changed and there is a million steps to invoicing a customer and it is really complicating.

Excellent application for phone & tablets with great functionality. Best features are the Daily Diary & To Do lists by far. Project Scheduling is also quite good.

Cons

Cost Reporting is challenging and time consuming feature to use. Could really benefit from streamlining this.

at first it was okay, however when they came to train us and help us get set up they said it would be able to have class codes added by the beginning of the year and that has not happened. They told us we could integrate with quick books correctly and that does not happen.

Pros

It is easy to navigate through the different sections.

Cons

This software probably works best for small companies, however as we have grown and have 12 divisions within this company it does not do what we were told it would do. We are very disappointed in the what we were told it would do and what it actually does. For project management only, no accounting, it would be a great tool to have for the guys in the field.

We love Buildertrend and would not use any other software. Our reps have always been easy to reach when we have questions and they are always checking in with us to make sure we are happy. Definitely worth the purchase we have seen a great return on the investment.

Pros

This software has helped us gain clients. We present this to every client in our first meeting. Super simple for contractors and homeowners to use. You can use this from day 1 to the warranty period. Keeps every change order organized and documents are all in one place available to subs, employees, and client. Scheduling on Buildertrend has made us more efficient and allows the client to stay up to date.

Cons

The only con that we have encountered is when you have a multi unit project you cannot have sub jobs within that project. This means using multiple jobs out of what you have purchased.

Very easy to use.

Pros

Buildertrend is super easy to use and very client-friendly. It is also convenient and integrates with a variety of other software, like estimating software and accounting software.

Cons

Although Buildertrend has lots of features, it isn't geared toward builders that do more than roughly 60 homes per year. It gets tedious when accounting software isn't already part of the production software. It also doesn't have a portal for vendors to update their own pricing, which would be really nice. Overall good, but only if you don't do THAT many jobs in a year... it's not quite comprehensive enough for that.

Overall, our whole company uses some part or piece of Buildertrend every day. We are thankful for the communication tool especially between our team in the field, those in the office and our homeowners.

Pros

It works for all parts of our business from billing to communicating with our homeowners. Their customer service is the BEST...they're always available, quickly, to help/direct/navigate an issue or take an issue under advisement if it will help better their site.

Cons

There are a few little things in terms of formatting, that would be helpful especially when preparing presentations, etc... The mobile app is a little cumbersome and hard to navigate especially when you are used to working from the desk top version. My project managers only use the daily log feature in the field since the other parts are too complicated.

### "5 Stars Across the Board from DBRG"

The Builder Trend program has been so helpful for our remodeling company. It tracks everything for each one of our jobs from beginning to end. It starts with our sales information and then moves to the actual job information. The Project Managers can schedule all activity on the calendars, create daily logs, selections and change orders, upload pictures of the progress of the job. The customer can view the progress of their project from anywhere because they get their very own portal to see the progress, the schedule and make payments online. On the accounting end, it keeps track of our estimates vs. actual cost and owner payments. It keeps all parties involved throughout the job. This is a great tool for our business.

Pros

I like the fact that everyone involved with each job is connected by the Builder Trend Program. The personal portal for the customer is one of my favorite features as well as the Financial features. Also, Builder Trends customer support is awesome! Always available and always helpful!

Cons

The only thing that interferes with my working on Builder Trend is when Builder Trend is working on the actual site. Sometimes it runs slow or the site drops. This does not happen for long periods of time but would be nice if Builder Trend could do this after most business hours.

Pros

The features in buildertrend allow all of our departments to work as a team with visibility to all aspects of each project. From sales leads to completion of projects, the CRM, has provided a way for our on site managers to communicate in real time without to document each and every phase of each project.

Cons

At this point we really havent found a deficiancy, however we have had an incidence where searching for a certain daily log comment was dificult to find. We have only been using it for a few months.

The program has benefitted our company with better organization of the projects and up to date budgeting. Customers have also responded with positive feedback of being able to view the progress of the build and complete choices through BT and are able to track their up to date budget/cost.

Pros

The program provides all the tools required to work with the staff, vendors, and customers all rolled in to one. Combined with the accounting tools, it allows live time budgeting which keeps the company on track.

Cons

As I grow more familiar with the bidding, estimating, I see the there could be more ease of transition of information from one to the other. I also hear that BT is currently working on these improvements, so I will be looking forward to seeing that.

### "Integrated Management System "

Our Business , client relation and management system have changed considerably after using Builder Trend. It would be great if reps can touch base with the company directors to see if there are more ways to improve the system and get feedback.

Pros

Able to track schedule and progress of job from any where. Report function is great and helps to set goals for each team member To Do function is amazing and function to link to daily logs New Expected Budget function helps in predicting the Expected budget to build a job and see cost savings before job starts.

Cons

Missing crucial tab for construction manager. There should be a section where a project admin can see the schedule and PO's linked to it instead of going each schedule item. Also cut down the work of contract admin to see if they have missed any important PO's.
