Overall very good, except for Enterprise reporting. Also, my rep initially was very good loved. Had a few that made me seem undervalued. LOVE the call and talk to a person anytime. Love that they will spend time with my new employees.

Pros

We use BuilderTrend to run all our custom home jobs. It is great and links very well with Quickbooks. Very happy about job control and able to keep schedules and costs.

Cons

The main issue is looking across jobs. I have the CFO position and I want to be able to run trends across jobs and collect data across them. I want to predict cash flow, run historical reports across jobs and dive into cost code data. All of this needs to be done manually in EXCEL. I've talked to ​our reps about this but always get a wall. With as large as BT is, I can't be the only company that needs this.

In another life, I was a senior executive of a public home builder. We spent countless man-hours and untold amounts of money attempting to design a enterprise wide software that could do some of the functionality of Co-construct. We never did. It's my understanding that a number of public builders have to one degree or another done the same thing. Millions of dollars later, few, if any, accomplished what Co-construct has done in integrating the customer with the builder in a friendly, logical, affordable and immensely useful tool. It marries the client to the builder in a way that removes most of the causes of misunderstanding. It enhances the overall relationship. Instead of a lost stream of email correspondence, each communique is documented in the system for posterity. Questions disappear. Changes get documented. Discussions get verified. Change order confusion evaporates. Scheduling "dropped balls" are reduced or eliminated. Selection deadlines get met to the satisfaction of both parties. Choices get documented without confusion. Pricing and cost adjustments go through a vetting process that virtually eliminates controversy. Finally, after building an excellent house, we have a system that seals the client's relationship by providing a warranty follow up system that keeps the builder informed of critical issue regarding warranty that can sour the relationship if "forgotten" or inadvertently delayed because of misplaced priorities. One of the underlying and essential components of Co-construct is its "notifications" protocol. This allows all the team members to remain informed and up to date. It makes the excuse of "I forgot" or "I didn't know" disappear. The program "badgers the life out of you" until you get it done and check it off in Co-construct as "completed". This function acts like a matronly personal assistant daily reminding you of outstanding items requiring you or a team members attention. With the downsizing many of us have had to endure during this downturn, Co-construct offer a welcome productivity tool that fills in the gaps of lost personnel. Does it do everything we'd like it to do? No not yet, but with the excellence Co-construct has accomplished thus far, enhance modules we be enthusiastically received. We'll never build another house without Co-construct.

It has been a great experience and very easy to use.

Pros

This software is amazing to help organize all facets of construction. Working with this software makes it very easy to help my clients keep everything organized in one place and give them a peace of mind to refer back to anything with their project.

Cons

I do not like how there are so many windows that pop up when trying to input items such as selections. It would be way more efficient to have one window come up with drop down options to input your information and attach items, instead of having to save this window to bring you to another window to save that, etc.

I\`ve been a subscriber since 2015 and have seen numerous functionality upgrades and enhancements, I\`ve also called and chatted with the support team multiple times and they\`ve given consistently awesome advice and solutions. As a small growing business Buildertrend was the perfect tool to expand from a one-man-show to managing several jobs at once with multiple staff and trade subs The client portal has also be a big hit with customers and really sets us apart from the competition, it encourages the client to really be engaged in the planning and production process and quickly builds trust from the beginning that their project will be well managed

Pros

constantly adding and expanding features high quality customer support it\`s a robust management tool with good comparable $value

Cons

sadly the software still struggles with sales tax integration with quickbooks is still a bit clunky, auto generating invoices etc

BT has made us so much more efficient, cut down on mistakes, shortened construction time, and increased convenience in the field. I was hesitant at first due to the cost but once we started using it, we were able to instantly see the savings and value by cutting down on costly mistakes. I really wish that I had more time to learn to use all of the great features. We probably only use 20% of the capacity of this software. Great organizational tool!

Pros

Ease of use, value, functionality, scheduling, saving files in the cloud, etc.

Cons

I don't have enough time to learn how to use all of the features that it offers.

### "Work in progress, but it's a great tool"

Customer Service, in our experience, is outstanding. This software is growing with us and they do seem to listen and learn from our feedback.

Pros

It was an easy transition from our old software. It's user-friendly, for the most part. It has many, many features and everyone seemed to have an easy time learning their part.

Cons

There are still a lot of functionality issues. Adding taxes to sold jobs was a one-trick pony. In Washington, each city has it's own sales tax rate and there is no way to account for that. They are working on this functionality, but it has cost our company money. There is also no easy way for me to send a confirmation to a customer for a scheduled on-site estimate. I have to copy and paste into email to send them a confirmation. Our old software did this seamlessly and it's a function I miss. I don't know if they are working on fixing this, but I've been told it's "being looked into".

### "Game Changer."

Overall, I love Buildertrend! I spend most of my every day updating and managing out projects through it. It's an easy and effective way for our team to communicate with each other, our vendors, and our clients. While there are a handful of things I think could improve, the development team seems very eager to listen to feedback and are constantly making great improvements, so I'm confident Buildertrend will only continue to get better.

Pros

This is a one-stop-shop product. It makes managing a project from start to finish much easier. It's basically our 'vault' with the final-line information. Our clients also love it and find it really easy to use - so that's a huge plus!

Cons

There are a few features that are still lacking or missing altogether. Primarily the estimating function. We don't use it at all because there aren't options to customize it to our use.

Using BT saves us TONS of time. I'd guess that I'd need to hire at least one full-time office admin to organize selections, estimates, invoices, etc. that Buildertrend does by itself. Jobsite guys, designers, office staff, and I also save a bunch of time having the info all together, and our accuracy and organization is much better. This single app has replaced a bunch of different software, Excel, Dropbox, MS Project, email programs, etc.

Pros

Everything in one place, accessible anywhere, anytime! No more paper, far fewer miscommunications, fewer customer disagreements, etc. etc.

Cons

I wish it was a little more personalized for my business, so customers would associate it with us, and not see it as "Buildertrend".

Amazing. Has been a game changer for our small business and has the capacity to grow with us!

Pros

BuilderTrend is built for us, builders! It has what we need, without hassle. All of our employees, from the most tech savy to those used to pen and paper, have been able to use with ease. All notes, photos, documents and more all in once place, with access to all. So Much Better than the physical folders we were using just a few years ago. So Thankful for BuilderTremd!

Cons

Sales Reports to track year to date, month to date, etc would be helpful for our sales team. The data is there, it just needs programming to make this happen.

We are a custom home builder building high-end houses costing $700,000 on average. We are now starting to build more project homes and are attempting to build more volume into our business. Over the past four years it has been difficult to run a business in this economic environment. The upside of this is that it has forced us to look for new and streamlined ways to run and communicate within our business. That is where Co-construct comes in. We purchased the software fifteen months ago and have never looked back. It was instantly easy to use. The online tutorials were easy to follow, but I like to tinker first and ask for help second. I found that within an hour I was using 60% of the functionality of the software. Our clients and team have had the same experience. We have found that the software is a vital part of our organization that not only helps to capture and resolve any communication problems, but also to formalise and systematize our process. We use Co-construct as an internal system as much as a system to manage the client's needs by uploading purchase orders, plans, doing defects lists, and communicating with our trades. I particularly like the functionality where once I have completed a task, the appropriate people have instantly and automatically been notified to the change or task. On the rare occassion we have had issues with the software (mostly user issues) we have always had a prompt response to the issue and had it sorted out within 24 hours of logging it into the system. We are now starting to expand our business, and with new team members coming on board I feel that we have a system that will help to create a similar experience for each client. I suppose that the true measure of a software is to try to imagine what our business was like prior to getting it, or what would happen if we stopped using Co-construct. I dont want to contemplate it, as it has woven its way into nearly all aspects of our business and is now irreplaceable to us. I have given a very high rating to Co-construct based on my previous experience using a CRM system where my experience has been the absolute opposite: difficult to use and little support by their customization partners. Thanks so much Co-construct for the tool that has allowed me to confidently build my business.

### "Game Changer for our business."

Pros

CoConstruct allows us to complete more projects, with less project managers. Put simply, these equals more money to our bottom line. Their support (on the rare occasion we need it) is super-prompt and top-notch. It's fairly easy to quantify the dollars it nets our business from savings on the project-management side - it's harder to know exactly how many additional projects we get as a result of also using it a sales-tool, but the effect is real. There is no way we could do our current volume without a system like this - unless we brought on multiple additional staff to coordinate project selections. It allows us to track everything in one place, meaning nothing falls through the cracks.

Cons

It's never fun to pay for subscriptions. But the value we get for what we pay is more than fair. Perhaps some provided templates could reduce initial project set-up time or help us make sure we're implementing the software using best-practices.

The program has been a huge help to our business from estimating to the finished product. It does take some work and commitment to get it set up and we are still making some changes to some of that, but it is totally worth the effort. The customer service team is extremely helpful, they can almost always answer our questions in one phone call, if not on that call, they have always followed up so we are not left with unanswered questions.

Pros

Creating the estimate in Co-Construct and have that tie directly into the specs & selections section keeps all the information in one place, in a very organized manner. The customers can see exactly what we plan to build and the materials we will use, decreasing the chance of last-minute surprises for both us and the customer. We can easily show customer ways to save and give them options for upgrades.

Cons

It takes some work to get set up which seemed overwhelming at first, but the customer service team was able to assist during that time. The time investment into the set up was well worth it. And like most things, we are learning as we go - so we still, even after a year, are making some tweaks to our template, making it better and better each time.

It has enabled us to keep control of operations and finances.

Pros

What I like the most is that it gives my customers a portal in which they can see what is going on with the project. It also helps us organise multiple projects and to keep all that information in one place. It is a very good organisational tool and enables me to keep tabs on what is going on across upwards of 20 projects. It is a great customer service tool that is good for all the customers - the client, the supervisors, fellow workers and subcontractors and the owner of the business.

Cons

Nothing. I would like a couple of new things like multiple owners and a way of using the scheduling more effectively.

I was excited by BT as soon as I experienced it. It had what we needed.

The benefits are one stop for everything like pictures, invoices, time clock, and it's available anywhere you go since there is an app for it. The best part is the customer service. I can do a live chat with them on any problem or concern and it's remedied right away. I also like that I can set up a one on one with our service rep and customize what I want to focus on to learn.

Pros

It makes a small business owner like us look extremely professional in the eyes of the homeowner.

Cons

Once we got it linked to Quick Books I noticed it was not as good with the paid invoices until it synced to QB. And since I'm not the QB person I have to wait when I need to close the job and show it paid on the homeowners end.

Overall- if you are a builder it would be great. If you are a specialty contractor or remodeler, there are better options.

Pros

This is good software for a builder but my company does remodeling. I liked the idea of the product but it just didn't work for smaller projects. Very robust.

Cons

Too many features and not simple to use. Great for long projects but not good for projects that take 2 weeks or less.

### "Creating Proposals"

Pros

My main function is to create proposals for our customers. BT is set up with all our pricing for products and services which makes it quick and easy to price projects. Creating templates for remodeling a kitchen or bathroom makes it even easier to provide proposals. Tweeking the template to customize to our customer is very easy too.

Cons

We wish there were more report options to be able to print out for assessing and reviewing.

Our business has grown to where we needed a better platform other than Outlook to schedule, coordinate and execute projects. BT has given us that opportunity and has helped us increased profits, efficiency and reduce the amount of time to gather the information needed to get the job done.

It would be good to invite or notify individuals or groups in the lead opportunities when collaborating on an individual proposal.

### "Lots of bells and whistles"

I think it's a great product, I just need to figure out how to get my team fully trained and using it to it's fullest extent.

Pros

There are so many features that help to automate processes, keep everyone informed, and make sure that nothing slipss through the cracks.

Cons

Because there are so many features, it has taken a while to get everyone trained. A group of carpenters aren't always the most tech savvy, or eager to learn about the software.

Overall the program is great. If new to this type of software someone would greatly benifit from having a coach like we did.

Pros

It's a big program with alot of information to take in. Still learning after using it for 8 months but overall it seems to tick all the boxes for CRM software.

Cons

Customer success coach seems to take a long time to return e-mails/set up appointments when we have questions/concerns. We as a busniess are still in the early stages of intergrating this software so still learning.

I believe we were early adopters in early 2010 of a new product. Its been a pleasure to watch it evolve and get more sophisticated, and incorporate ours and others feedback. While many of the accounting integration aspects are un used by us it clear they have been responsive to users requests.

Pros

Selections and Money We are a very custom builder and the selections tab allows for thorough and documented communication of a choice. The financial tab allows for easily keeping the client current on investment expectations, especially as they make choices in selctions.

Cons

Not much, but if I had to say one thing it might be the schedule. It has evolved a lot in the almost 10 years we have used it, but it still can be glitchy and not as sophisticated in some ways as MS Project which we moved from.

This platform is a great way for our team and our clients to make sure we are all on the same page. It is an easy means of communication and keeps track of everything that we do during the selection process.

Pros

I love that all of my client's options and selections are in one location. I rely on buildertrend and the job price summary when checking through selections to make sure they are implemented during the build. It is a great way for our clients to see all of the custom options that are available. Homeowners are able to view the options on their own time and we can review during face to face meetings if they have any questions.

Cons

Sometimes it seems like the system takes a while to load the information.

### "Clients Love It - Simplify Your Building Process."

Pros

Keeps all our project organized from Prospect to Completed. Simplifies customer, employee, vendor and Sub-Contractor communication. Automates redundant but important tasks. The format and process causes our organization to follow good business practices. improved our customer service, shortened our project cycle, reduced overhead, allows us to complete more projects in the same time frame. Our managers spend their time managing projects not putting out fires and chasing their tail. Our team members know in detail the scope of work they are responsible to accomplish. They require very little managing.Vendors & Subs know what we need and when we need it. Co-Construct's customer service department is amazing. The staff listen, respond quickly and follow up diligently until YOU Deem your issue resolved. Co-Construct has mirrored this process into their software. Using the software caused our customer service to improve. They are extremely committed to our success with their product.

Cons

Not Applicable because Co-Construct listens to their customers. They implement well thought out solutions.

Co-Construct allows me to be on top of the all aspects of my projects regardless of what stage they are at. Single data entry is fantastic and the program synchronises well with QuickBooks. Quite simply - the program allows me to better organise and run my construction business.

Pros

Simple data entry that is done once Quality project management system Easy to develop specification presented in a professional manner Simple and effective financial management system that includes invoicing

Cons

It does not have an integral estimating capability; this requires the maintenance of another capability. The ability of the program to ingest data from estimating software is limited.

Reason for choosing Buildertrend

It was a difficult choice as they are both excellent products. After using both over a free trial period I felt that CoConstruct better suited the way I run my custom building business - but not by much.

### "Great Project Management Software!"

BuilderTrend has been a fantastic addition to our business since we began using it last year. It has greatly enhanced our communication capabilities within our organization as well as our communications with our customers. The ability of our customers, employees and sub-contractors to have all the information they need at their fingertips has made a world of difference. I would highly recommend BuilderTrend to all construction companies seeking to take their business to the next level. I use this program everyday, whether I'm on the road or in the office. The mobile app has made it very convenient to work while on the road.

Pros

Being able to have our entire business function so well within 1 program from CRM and proposals to project management, communication and project financials this program does it all.

Cons

I know this program is designed for project management so most of the focus is on that side and it is helpful to have the CRM side to keep everything in one program. However, the CRM side is certainly the weaker side of the program. That being said, BuilderTrend is constantly improving their program and coming out with new updates so I anticipate the CRM side will continue to improve.

It works for me and our customers like it. I’ve called several times for technical support and my questions were answered quickly.

Pros

Buildertrend offers an easy way to schedule jobs, manage homeowner communications and change orders.

Cons

The one area I wish would be more suited for fully custom builders is the selections and allowances. It is good if you offer standard selections with certain upgrades, but not well suited for a fully custom buying experience where there are no restrictions on selections. Also having the ability to adjust the schedule by dragging in the ghant chart without going back to beginning of the schedule.
