Pros

The estimates for cost and time are surprisingly accurate .The ability to schedule in advance is great for coordination . They also provide a portal that makes it easier for customers to reach out with questions or requests .

Cons

You can't directly tag other members and the discussion we have involve a lot of going back and forward .

We are a small custom home builder in Southern Illinois that has recently started using Co-construct. All I can say is "Wow." This program has made our lives so much easier on a day-to-day basis. No more lost selections, hassles with paperwork, signing off documents, or other common industry frustrations. We had a simple system before we started using Co-construct, and it is a miracle looking back that we were able to operate under that system. Co-construct makes everything easier, organized, and very user friendly. The selection sheet is the most important piece of information for me being a project manager. Every selection is easily entered into it's own category with the ability to leave comments. The comment portion of selection sheet is amazing as well since it allows you to leave notes to your company, customers, subcontractors, or all of the above. This comment function has saved me so many phone calls and emails. Other functions I had found very useful is the Warranty list. This is an area to insert punch list items and assign them to your subs with a deadline. Everyone always dreads callbacks, but this system makes it as painless as possible. It also holds your subs or co-workers accountable to getting the callback items accomplished in a timely manner. Finally, if you should happen to have an issue with the program, software, user error, anything, Donny and his team will help you any way possible in the blink of an eye. They have been very helpful during the beginning stages when we were setting Co-construct up to make it just right for our company. I give his customer service an A+. Anyone who is thinking about joining Co-construct should, and they will be glad they did down the road. Enjoy and good luck to all!

Pros

Very easy to use with excellent tech support. We were one of the early adopters and BT has come a long way since we signed on.

Cons

Bogs down at times especially in afternoons, we call it the 2pm death wheel. You should be able to add money to PO's rather than issuing new ones, makes accounting harder, matching up multiple PO's.

Pros

I like the budget, schedule, Documents and Photo aspects of this software.

Cons

The Selections aspect of this software. The selections seem to have the most limited options in terms of customizing the product to my specific needs.

Pros

Buildertrend is easy to use with minimal amount of learning time to understand the program. Input can be done by all users that have access to the program. In the construction industry time is money and a picture says a thousand words. Like the fact that pictures can be immediately uploaded and seen by other viewers if there is a question that needs to be asked and the picture will help with that answer.

Cons

Requiring access for different users. As a company all our field employees should get access and you have to input each individual user each time a project is uploaded. Should be a way to have a "group" you can upload.

Pros

Real time decisions / communications kept in one location creates less paperwork, communications. Lead tracking / reminders is a strong point.

Cons

Estimating software needs development. Not functional for our purposes at this time. Change Orders need categories for cost (sub / material / labor) and ability to add multiples to one change order (ie. Build a niche in shower has Tile Sub costs, Framing labor costs and Framing Material costs). Need to have framing and tile categories both. Down for maintenance...and then there is an issue with that getting caught in cache per HelpLine (kept experiencing "down for maintenance" repeatedly. Was directed by Customer Service / Helpline to "Advanced Settings" in Chrome browser to clear browsing data. This is a software issue that needs to get figured out. Non-intuitive and clients will not understand that if they encounter that issue. I have never had to clear that setting before.... Some things could be redesigned for better functionality / GUI / Intuitive responses. A few examples: Selections = multiple step process is non-intuitive for entry (fields are rather short for description) + clients seem unclear on approval for it. Want to send a Document Notification after uploading to one internal User and client? You cannot. You click notify and you send to all people who have viewing permissions (clutters inboxes and annoys others). I would like to have embedded images in my bid requests and Change Orders and Selections rather than separate jpg attachments.

Pros

Calendar Feature is very robust and easy to use Daily Logs are very helpful to the managament of our projects Change Order feature has proven to be the only way we can accuratley manage the CO process

Overall, experience has been good. Needs to be a mandatory "on ramp" class and continuing education on it as it takes time to learn the system

Pros

Scheduling component and communication component/features are great. Love the "To Do's" as well

Cons

User interface and graphics are not pretty. Doesn't feel up to date and load times seem to take more than usual

Overall it's a really good product. Easy to use and navagate through. Good to keep everything for your projects in one place.

Pros

I use this for scheduling for our builders. It lays out a good time line for the hole project to keep every trate on the same page. Easy to upload pictures and plans for the project.

Cons

When schedule changes you have no way of knowing unless you get on the system. Could use a email update any time a change is made.

Pros

Used it for 2 years now I love it a lot we use it everyday for our clients and for everyday use

Cons

Price is a little higher but it does everything g you need it to do

Pros

There is a feature in which you can communicate pertaining to a specific aspect of the project with applicable subcontractors, designers, or clients. It is a great way to track conversations and selections for your project.

Cons

The estimating feature could be more robust. I've had better luck reverting to a spreadsheet for the ability of customization.

I can communicate with my project managers through pictures and daily logs without the need of them coming to the field that much. And makes me more efficient at my job which is stressfull enough.

Pros

Everything. As a superintendent I use it everyday for my daily crew count and for loading many pictures from two jobsites that I run.

Cons

I only have good thing to say. But we are about to start doing track homes soon and don't know if Buildertrend will be good for that.

We are a small remodeling company that has been doing building and remodeling for over eighteen years. We are big on communication with our clients to help them get their projects built. What I really like about Co-construct is: Co-construct Is one of the only online software system that both the contractor and the client can use together. I love the fact that the client can have communication with the process and a helps create a feeling in control and reduces fear. Co-construct helps to empower the on going communication between client and builder. We had been looking for a long time for a NEW and better system and tools that could save us time in client selections and scheduling of time management and subcontractors. For now Co-construct fits the bill. Co-construct was the only online or offline system that we found that could address: 1. Client product selections in an easy to use format. 2. Client communications in a simple an conscience format. All contractor & clients E-mails are in one place together. 3. Subcontractor schedule and conformations of scope and schedule are in all one place. 4. Shows the client their Budget Numbers and change order costs in real time. 5. Show clients their change orders and Pictures of products. Co-Construct took us about 2-3weeks to get up and running. It has a snowball effect. The more you learn it the faster it becomes. Being online helps a lot, as I can check things away from the office, on the road, or after work hours. So far the costs have been break even. It has saved us extra meeting times with clients so far saving 3 full days of on site hand holding with the client, freeing up time to spend else where. I would highly recommend Co-Construct System.

To make full use of the powerful functionality of Co-Construct, there is definitely some effort involved to set it up the way you want to use it. Some discipline is also needed (you have to use the system is you want the system to help you). But once you do those things, you'll find it is a very powerful & useful platform for tracking all the major aspects of your construction project.

Tons of functionality for tracking schedules, discussions, decisions, and budgets! Awesome support!

Cons

Lots of functionality & customization comes with complexity in setup & use.

Pros

I love this software because it does everything I need it to. I used to use all kinds of Excell spreadsheets that I created to track job progress, scheduling, client communications, leads etc. I remember thinking with each new spreadsheet I made that there must be something better. Some kind of program related to the field that does everything. When I discovered BuilderTrend I was so amazed, and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm pretty sure I invented it. I just didn't have the programming skills.

Cons

I love most everything about this product. The only thing I don't like is kind of petty. We use the logs very frequently to communicate job progress & updates with our team. When you write a log you have the ability to check a box to send notifications to people assigned to the job. I would prefer that the box would just close when I click to save and notify. As of right now it stays open. What ends up happening is that I miss the message saying notification sent and I end up sending it more then once.

CoConstruct has automated a lot of processes for us. Some of which we were doing on paper. Some we weren't doing and now can do because CoConstruct makes it easy. It has made our business better. I don't really want to imagine running our business without it.

Pros

CoConstruct streamlines a lot of our process which makes our business better. It allows us to organize our communications with customers which they love!

Cons

Being able to print a change order with the customers name and a line for them to sign without sending it as an email would be good.

We signed up at the IBS in Las Vegas and like the promotion you were running there. Also we liked having access to the specs and selections at any level of service for CoConstruct. You had to pay more to get access to that with BuilderTrend.

Keep up the stellar customer service and product upgrades!

Pros

CoConstruct has the best customer service I've ever experienced, with any program, and I've used a lot! Love the branded interface for clients.

Cons

There is a lot to learn, it takes time. I've been using CoConstruct for over a year and I am still learning new things. That's not necessarily a bad thing, there are a lot of features, but it does take quite a bit of time to learn it all if you're doing it on your own.

Company is very responsive to questions, suggestions and the help is outstanding. This is a great product. My customers love it.

Pros

For one thing, they are constantly added new things. The payroll featured added that sums up my labor cost relative to each employee and hours on the job is spectacular and a huge time saver. The more time I spend on Builder Trend the easier it is to run my business

Cons

I don't like that this survey will not let me proceed to the next section unless I can find something that I like the least.

Buildertrend saves a lot ot time and resources when you need to control diverse aspects of the project: prime design, modifications to the design, information to the contractors about those changes, assignation of goals ans tasks, general overseeing of the construction, etc., all of these issues being executed by a unique person (my case!)

Pros

Reporting and internal communications are extraordinarily easy to do via Buildertrend. It is a pity I did not know about this program when I was overseeing the construction of the first Nicaraguan Walmart store!

Cons

It needs to be complemented by other apps / software to entirely manage a project.
