However, we are a commercial contractor and there are several parts that are not helpful to us and several things that are not there that would be helpful to us. Pros Daily reports are easy to use for the superintendents. Job set up is easy. Cons Cannot attach enough pictures to the daily reports. When you do attach them as "extras" you cannot download them all at once and it doesn't individually name them, so you have to download them one at a time and hope you don't get lost because they are all named the same. No section for submittals or RFI's. Cannot run reports on multiple jobs at once, i.e. jobs under the same group name. Review Source AD Alita D. January 11, 2016 4.5 Pros There is excellent support available by phone whenever we have questions, and we are able to schedule tutorials as we require. Online tutorials are available as well. The support staff are highly knowledgeable to provide assistance when we need it. Cons The LEADS section is more cumbersome to use and load documents, compared to the JOBS section. One feature in Leads could be set up in a better manner; converting a Lead to a Job "from scratch", the checkboxes to move documents & photos are located at the bottom of the page, necessitating scrolling all the way to the bottom; those checkboxes should be located at the top of the page so they aren't missed. I converted my first few leads to jobs without checking those boxes and info from leads wasn't imported to the job, causing me more work to manually copy info from the 'sold' lead to the Job view. April 6, 2018 5.0 By far the best software purchase experience I have ever had since I started purchasing software in the mid 1980's. They have flexible pricing. The information for each job is available on any platform, so field workers have instant access. I love the push notifications to clients and field to keep people informed. CoConstruct is the best investment you can make in your business. Pros This is a management tool allowing incremental implementation. The customer support responds in minutes. The instruction sessions are very helpful. There is a help button on every screen that leads to text, video or customer support that actually has the answers! They have raised the bar to help new users get up to speed. We are implementing accross our estimating, sales and production teams in just weeks. They have exceeded my expectations. Cons I wish the scheduling was a little more robust. The minimum unit is man days. I am used to man hours which allows scheduling accuracy and multiple tasks on different projects in the same day. No more hunting around for selections, messages, client changes, etc. Schedule componet is excellent. Keeps the client informed at all times, what is happening. App is very handy as well. December 21, 2017 5.0 Pros Amazing support - they will go above and beyond and even do your data entry for you - unheard of! The high tech integration and features are excellent - mobile app, allows all users to edit and upload photos. The scheduling features are super smart - it automatically adjust all future items if a current item is delayed, and it also keeps you from double booking vendors when you have multiple projects going on. Cons It is so fully featured that it's going to take some time for us to fully utilize every feature. Also, it is really designed for GCs and big construction companies who do estimates and have end user clients. It connects to your quick books account and keeps your whole company together under one umbrella Cons It is missing so much, and very little room to change anything. Basically its like these new web site builders. Really pretty to look at, but once you want to start customize the actual working side of the product you start hitting road block. We just wanted to change a title on a report that we had to use, and fail it couldn't do that. There was so many times that we wanted to do something that seemed like it should obviously be in a project management program, and it was nowhere to be found, and when I call to ask they just say sorry we don't have that and there is no work around. The ease of use is great, the estimating and scheduling tools are similar to other programs we have used. Therefore, it was pretty easy to transition to this program. We have yet to try integrating our QuickBooks account. Cons We would like a page that focuses specifically on interior design. There are the photos and the specs and selections options, but we would like to organize different options with a variety of themes to choose from for each room. Concurrently running 6-8 projects, we strained maintaining selection records and monitoring changes. With four office administrators, we found emails containing client instructions and changes would sometimes go to different administrators and therefore get stored on different mail servers; finding this was later was not easy. Co-construct centralized this communication and provided an ordered place for specifications and all scope changes. Our subcontractors have expressed positive feedback with the notification features and ease of accessibility in the field. Currently we are integrating the budgeting features to help monitor variations and aid with our weekly cost monitoring and forecasting. Scheduling take-up has taken some convincing, but with the ease of notifying trades and making adjustments as we progress through the builds, it leaves a dead end MS Project schedule in the folders. All sites workers use their phones and can appreciate how fluid and unified the information is on the Co-construct system. Donny's video tutorials are a must to help understand the logic of the system and the online help topics are a great follow-up to answer questions on the fly; and when we can't find the answers, we email and get support exceptionally quickly. Pros Fantastic integration across the board. Good for anyone who is trying to tie all the elements of a build together, particularly with communication between client, office & site. Cons A few little things, but admittedly they're being rectified over time. The purchase orders and accounts aren't perfect, and if some of your trades still require email correspondence you have to do a bit of double handling. I like that my conversations are documented. I like that the software is fast. Cons It makes a simple process more complicated. Perhaps the contractor doesn't use it to its full potential or perhaps I am missing some key instructions that would help. I've used it now for about 2 months on a daily basis and it is not getting any less confusing. For example, in the financials tab I see things like framing, demo, etc... My contractor has not filled those in....his bad. However, he has filled in stuff like allowances for appliances but there isn't an entry for his overhead. So is it rolled in to his allowance or is it separate. Once again, difficult to tell and therefore confusing if I need to know where to cut back. Review Source AS Aaron S. Pros The abundant features are clearly the result of years of work implementing users' requests. Most of my ideas are already features. Cons The interface can be a little bit clunky at times, and once in a while there is not a convenient link where I expect one. Think the greatest "Pros" were on the ability to gain insights to job statuses quickly. Cons Suffers from a cluttered interface. The paradox of choice. Easily submit bids and request more information right from the program. Cons Too many emails. We get emails over ever little change made to the files or questions being asked which can be helpful for some but when you are only a small trade in a huge project it can get annoying. I can't imaging going back to the way we used to operate. This software keeps us organized and helps our customers stay in the loop during their project. It's a wonderful software and great support staff. Highly recommend! Pros One of the things I like most about Buildertrend is the support they give. If I ever have a question or are unsure of something, I can easily use the chat feature or call the support line and they help walk me through it and figure out a solution to my problem. They're fantastic! Cons One thing I don't like is that once a customer has activated their account, we as the builder can no longer update the customer contact info. Sometimes we're dealing with older people or ones who aren't super computer literate and it takes me a long time or multiple emails to describe how to add a phone number or email address to their account vs me just being able to go in and adjust in in 10 seconds.
