Production Coordinator Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Incredibly Useful " May 15, 2015 5.0 Pros The ability to communicate instantly with our guys in the field and to let them and the subcontractors know about upcoming tasks, issues, etc. Cons I wish that when I put the name of the company performing a certain job, that it would auto populate for everything listed on that particular job pertaining to that company. For example: if Smith Electrical is the electrician for the Jones project, when I put in Smith Electrical doing the "electrical rough", I would like the calendar to auto populate and put them in as doing the electrical for the entire job. Most important of all however, with BuilderTrend, you have the power of so many users, all contributing with their ideas that are in turn reviewed, analyzed and ultimately find their way to new releases; thus benefiting the group at large; such is a fun, dynamic circle. Cons The new Payment module - and how it integrates with invoices could be more intuitive - granted; it is a fairly new module and I have no doubt that latter versions will raise the level of quality. February 11, 2016 4.5 Pros I like the ease of most features - adding jobs, updating contact info, uploads, budgets. All very user friendly. The calendar is a great feature, just wish there were more options for updating vendors and keeping the dates accurate. Cons My main complaint is using the calendar and the fact that the dates do not "freeze" once a task is marked complete. Cons claimant's phone number doesn't convert over to show under the address. Folder names doesn't auto populate under documents. Same with folders for photos. This software has great functionalitiy that allows it to be used many different ways to suit the client. It is very well priced and has unlimited training support and file storage. Additionally, I looked at many apps to aid my client this one by far has better reports than those of similar priced apps. Cons This software is priced by job/month. Used the software for: ### "" March 26, 2013 5.0 I am so glad that the builder I represent uses BuilderTREND. As a realtor, it is imperative I have things readily available at my fingertips. With everything from the plans, schedules, selection sheets, contract forms, and more all accessible on BuilderTREND, it has increased productivity and allows me more time to focus on my true job within the organization - selling houses. My buyers appreciate the ability to log in to see updates on their home. As an added feature for them I am continually adding photographs here so they are able to view the progress. This is especially helpful for those clients who are out of town and unable to regularily visit the worksite. The initial software installation was almost spontaneous. The ease of operation did not take days of familizing myself with the system. It's as simple as logging on and manuevering through as is the typical Office program that everyone is familiar with. Once I joined the team I was using the software like a pro within a couple of hours. While we have good systems in place for quoting, we were looking for something that improved our interface with our clients. Co-construct has done this and improved our time scheduling at the same time. Having clients fully informed of their options, costs, and make selections in a timely manner, is exactly what we were after. At the same time, subcontractors and suppliers are kept informed of the work program. Like all systems, you need to spend some time setting up templates and engaging with your subcontractors to get them on board with the process. Once in place it is beneficial for all parties. It has been fairly quick to learn & use. Clients don't need to be computer geniuses to use it. Any questions we have had have been answered quickly, and the training videos have covered off 99% of what is required to know. The email system is excellent in keeping communication with clients in an easy to track format. The home page allows you to see all that you need to follow up on, in one page; largely negating the risk of missing an item or communication. Review Source JS John S. I like the fact that I can start and end a project within BuilderTrend, and I don't need much else to keep it organized. Cons When we first implemented the system (in January of 2013), there were certain functions and features missing. " December 5, 2017 4.0 GC's that are customer oriented should seriously consider. Pros Love the Daily Log and all the Mobile Application. Mobile is extremely powerful. We use it to record the weather as well since our work is temperature and humidity sensitive it is great to have this automatically popular as a matter of record. The Voice to text is great as well. We load our projects u with daily progress pictures and often refer back to them. Cons Pricing is perfect for Builders. The time frame allows you to bury the cost in the job. HOWEVER, if your a subcontractor it can very pricey if your projects are short duration. if you profit for installing carpet is 1000. You will eat up your profit with the monthly fee per project. " June 4, 2014 4.0 Pros The integrated communication between between clients, vendors, and ourselves (contractor). The communication aspect allows me to communicate with all vendors to where both the client and I are involved or just the vendor and I are communicating. This means that no one misses a beat or will forget what was agreed upon as the communication is always there. I also like that within each of the selections/budget, I can communicate with a client about their particular choices and budget totals. That way, not only do we have an electronic signature of their approval, but it also gives them a chance to tell us what they want all in one field. Communication becomes more organized. Cons Setting up all of the customizable functions. It takes some focus and time to do so. However, once you have the template set, it's super easy to roll over to other jobs happening, or to tweak in the future. April 10, 2018 5.0 Pros This programme is really easy to use and helped me to stay on top of my tasks as well as my teams tasks. Meeting deadlines has never been easier. Cons for this to work well your entire workforce needs to use it. we had some that loved it and some that didn't buy into it so it didn't work very well until it became mandatory. It takes about one minute to record a daily log from your phone. My Tech Rep is awesome and so helpful! It's going to be very helpful and professional to have my clients involved in the software and seeing what's going on, even from a remote location. Cons The budget (estimating) and calendar (schedule) modules are slightly lacking. I heard that soon there will be updated budget software that will allow me to build an estimate that could be shown to the client, that will be nice. Also, the calendar is pretty good but could be easier. I've used many different schedule softwares but find that SmartSheet is the best/easiest out there. Check it out and you will see what I mean. I need to be able to modify the schedule in gannt view without opening an activity and edit more like a spreadsheet. It's much faster for those who know how to run a schedule. It is our CRM, Job calendar, project organizer, employee time clock... Cons I can think of anything we dont like. We dont use all functions of the software, but the ones we use are great for us. It would be nice if there was a function that would recognize a clients phone number/email when coming into phone/outlook and ask to add it as activity to track communication easier. Wow. It has changed the way my husband and his business partner work. Totally positive results and experiences; our customers really like it, even the slightly older generation gets into it, because it's so easy to use. The Co-construct company is great to work with, they send out great tips and updates, and provide thorough tutorials to various aspects of the software. The financial investment is very reasonable, especially once you've decided to use and build it into your jobs costs. My favorite feature is the communication between the guys on the job, the clients, and the guys on the job with each other. As the bookkeeper, I can't possible know everything but Co-construct keeps track of everything so I can review conversations, find all the change orders, and remind vendors about some of their promises. Owner Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Buildertrend in action" November 15, 2016 5.0 Buildertrend is a top rank product for small and medium volume (up to 200 homes per year) home builders. It is a scheduling program at heart and because it does not tie in accounting it's a much easier program to learn to use than some of the programs designed for high volume or "production" builders that need to tie every part of the building process together. I have used Microsoft Project extensively and although it is a good product the learning curve is much steeper. Buildertrend is a program designed for the internet and can be used on any platform although I feel that the setup should be done on a computer as opposed to a handheld. The customer support is very, very responsive and good. Pros It's ease of use and intuitive feel. Cons Not much on the negative side. May 13, 2015 5.0 Pros The Calendar is the best part, because our trades, suppliers & clients no exactly what to expect and when Cons We would like to see an overall view of all our jobs to see where our employees are slotted as well as trades without having to go into each job separately. Co-construct has some unique pricing that allows our builders to add unlimited, full-featured projects, at no cost, when they don't have a need for clients to access it (like for spec homes, cabinet shop projects, smaller side projects, rental properties, etc...). If you had a higher number of projects with client access, then that could affect your price, but we should check it out to make sure you're on the right plan so you can make the most of it. Construction Used the software for: ### "Estimating/Project Development" June 17, 2014 4.5 Pros It works very well for our company to provide access to plans, specifications, and project updates to our subcontractors and our superintendents in the field. We are starting to use the schedule and budgetary options as well. It is user-friendly and adaptable for our needs. The staff at BuilderTREND is very responsive and receptive to our requests. Cons I really miss the read receipt option when I send messages (it was deleted with the recent update). This option allowed me to know my subs had received the request and were working on their estimates. I now have to call all the subs or send another mass email from Outlook to accomplish the same task. Sometimes, the emails from BuilderTREND hit their spam folders, and this option showed me who was checking (or missing) their email and who wasn't. After going to this it really opened our eyes to a lot more features. Customer support is top of the industry I've not had to wait more than a minute to get somebody live on the phone and walk me through any issues I'm having. I recall one particular client that said we were the highest bid by over 10,000 but they went with us because of our technology and this software because it made it easier for them. We've had multiple clients say the same even ones that live out of the state and we do projects for them locally they still feel like they have their hand on the project. I would recommend this to any contractor remodeler or Builder. With the pace of Technology if someone's not offering this type of service to their clients and trade partners I think it could be a disservice and a holding back. Review Source RM Ronnie M. Great app and website for client collaboration also. Pros The easy of collaboration between trade partners, employees and clients. Cons The time sheets can be modified by employees. So we use another software for time tracking. Many times that will be limited to a project manager and the person who approves the time. As an organization, we were looking for a better way to share information in office and with the clients. We were looking to create a way that was easy for everyone to follow. There were more standards within the organization that we were looking to create using spreadsheets to track everything about a job. Although we have not opened up the use to our clients yet because, as an organization, we are still learning the system since it was only purchased a couple of weeks ago. We are excited for the day we can implement the Co-construct system into our own system because the communication will be better and the information is tracked in one central location. Based off of what I have used Co-construct for at this point in time, I have yet to find a negative aspect to the system. Co-construct is a simple but advanced system that is easy for someone to use and learn from. Any help that we have needed has had a quick response and solution. The Co-construct system will allow our jobs to flow from beginning to end quicker and with less questions along the way.
