Pros

They have an "Applied University" and community portal for our team members to adapt to learning how to use the broker management system.

Cons

There are a lot of features and complexities as would be expected from a broker management system. They've categorized well.

Pros

It is a great way to keep all your clients together when you have multiple systems and carriers. If you write direct with popular companies the policies will download from the carrier directly which is nice.

Cons

They are tons of different features with is good but you end up not using everything to it's fullest capabilities. In the accounting portion of the system it is very hard to undo something if you make a mistake.

Pros

The ease of its use. It's very easy to locate all items needed and everything is very clearly labeled.

Cons

The search features for finding documents and forms. Its very sensitive and sometimes you put in some information in and it brings back no results when its almost the exact lookup code or document name

Epic has a very simple tab and left side navigation, that expands when sub-categories are opened. The additional module available made the reach of the software extend into multiple departments.

Pros

Constantly getting updates from Applied. Software has a clean logical layouts. Ease of navigation is big to help with the training of new users.

Cons

The cost is a little high, and the use of the on-premise version vs the cloud-based is a little tricky when calling into support. Both version are still in production, but I get the feeling that on-perm will go away and we will be forced into needing a new solution.

Pros

Epic is a good broker management system. It enables us to manage our home and auto policies. The customer support team is great.

Cons

The limitations on configuring Epic could be improved. Having the ability to add new fields would be nice so we could improve different workflows. Creating reports could be improved to make it a bit more user friendly and easy to use.

Nickel and dime is the name of the game.

Pros

Support is quick to back, unless you run into a snag with their solution and then they are unhelpful.

Cons

Accounting system doesn't comply with proper revenue recognition principles. You need to do accrual accounting outside the system - making the internal accounting system close to worthless. If you are doing any M&A, you will run into paywall issues - their data upload tool costs more than a new car.

Reason for choosing Applied Epic

I was forced by Applied after the Acquisition of tech canary.

The renewal marketing process is a little tedious. Have to market apps even though a policy is not being marketed.

Pros

It includes all of the features to fully manage your book of customers. You can quote, email, and update policies all from inside Epic.

Cons

It's not very versatile. If you're not computer savvy, it may be a hard program to learn and adapt to. There are a lot of other software choices for insurance that are a lot simpler and easier to learn and manage than Epic.

I have been very happy with Epic and its ease of use. Coming from a much older operating system this one is amazing!!! The help that is available by just giving them a call is also fantastic. Applied is great at getting back to you with any issues and offering solutions and fixing the issue.

Pros

It is ever evolving. I love that Epic understands what we as users need and what the experience our customer need and want to have. I love that the system has many AUTO features that can work in the background. The fact that I don't have to drag and drop emails in all day is awesome. You send the direct from Epic and the email is automatically attached. I like the text feature. That is not utilized in our office however I do think it is something that can and should be used.

Cons

My least favorite thing is also a Pro but some times can be a huge flaw. Cloud based!!! Great for most of the time But.... the moment the internet goes out we are dead in the water and can not answer any calls.

Everything, it is very neat, detailed, organized and user friendly. I use it everyday all day and it has helped make my job a lot easier.

Cons

It can take a while to learn, it is kind of confusing at the beginning but as time goes you figure it out.

Overall experience is ok. Have only been using applied epic for about 5 months.

Pros

Overall the system is ok. Once you understand how the processes/activities work. Some things could be a little simpler and not so difficult and drawn out.

Cons

Processes - Some processes feel like you are doing extra work & you should be able to edit after you have submitted and before you issue the endorsement . LOB - some do not have all the fields needed in order to put coverage, premiums and details Actions - Would like to see a rewrite action for policies that have been rewritten so that all the field information transfers over

Software is not easy to use or understand.

I like the overall system just not how it locks up

Pros

The system is very user-friendly. It helps to keep clients' accounts up to date and I love that you can note as detailed as needed.

Cons

The system seems to go in and out alot. I get kicked out or it locks up in the middle of my work. It would be nice if it didn't do that.

Definitely better than TAM, but like most agency software products out there, it is geared towards accounting first, then customer service and lastly, agent sales tracking.

Pros

agent dash board, able to see prospects and goals.

Cons

Too many clicks needed to locate basic information. Left sidebar and top tabs are too busy and give a conflicting look. Always keeps you hunting for the right tab or line.

For my purposes, it seems to have lightening speed. I've never had an issue the software loading or moving from one page/ form to another.

Pros

The navigation menus and drop down options. Easy to read and associated forms are simple and easy to use.

Cons

There a lot of steps involved...seems some more populating information would be helpful.

Customer service is extremely helpful. There are so many different things you can do with Applied that it makes me wonder how we managed before we had it.

Cons

Some actions in the transactions section are difficult to reverse if a mistake is made. It would be helpful if everything was able to be edited.

I really liked that there was more than one way to get something done on the program. And the customer service was excellent.

Cons

Sometimes it would freeze up and hold up the office or would take a while to reboot in the morning.
