October 10, 2016 4.0 PlanSwift has made my job as an estimator much easier and much faster. Drawings that used to take me days to takeoff by had now take me hours. Some of PlanSwifts' features are a little clunky and the program crashes on occasion but overall good product I would recommend. I really like the "new tab" and "undock tab" features. Only thing I miss are the old customer service guys. They were great! It's a little frustrating not being able to reach customer service when something I did goes wrong and I need help to meet a deadline. After a period of time on the phone, the call goes to a general mail box. You may get an call back or not. "Chat with help" after a period of time will just cut you off. Growing pains I guess. I used to get quantities by inputting sizes onto an Excel Spreadsheet. Then I discovered Planswift and am able to get quantities quickly and accurately by downloading the drawings onto Planswift and preforming areas and lengths right on my computer. /The great thing is I can save my takeoff work by printing out a pdf that shows what I took off nd provides me with quantities on the pdf. Then I send it to my clients for documentation of what I took off. Great product, wish I had it 5o years ago would of saved me lots of time! Pros Ease of takeoffs onscreen. Inexpensive compared to other similar software. Cons Just need to be patient on the learning curve on how to utilize the software Review Source CL Chris L. Used the software for: ### "How PlanSwift changed my Estimating Life" March 16, 2015 5.0 Great estimating program! I will never go back to paper again!! Very easy to use and cuts my estimating time in half. It allows me to get more estimates out to GC's in less time and on time. The only thing that I have to say is that when I am working on a estimate with multiple folders. It always defaults back to the 1st folder. You have to pay attention when doing your take off, that you keep changing to the folder that you are working on. Otherwise all the information for that particular folders ends up in the 1st folder. As a flooring contractor Planswift has revolutionized how we do estimating. It allows us to be more precise... which reduces waste and helps us dial in costs for our clients. Planswift is easy to set up and use right from day one. Video tutorials made learning simple. When we decided to put Planswift on more than one computer customer service was a dream experience as they walked us through step by step how to have multiple machines accessing the same take offs from one server. December 19, 2017 5.0 Great takeoff software, will renew when the year is up. Pros Ease of operation. Shallow learning curve, easy to get started and plenty of instructional videos on Youtube. For me, figuring out the acreage of clearing on projects has been pretty easy once I got things figured out, which didn't take too long. It just took a little bit of trial and error before I got it. Reports are good, also. I just have to edit them a little bit once I transfer them to the Excel program. Cons There really is not anything that I do not like about the program right now. Having the ability to dictate the colors and symbols was helpful to identify specific items at a quick glance. Cons It does not allow me to do a single count for multiple pages, therefore leaving me an extra step of having to add totals and having to reallocate each color and symbol. Office Assistant Used the software for: ### "Awesome Product" April 2, 2015 5.0 Planswift is an absolute excellent product and service. In the first year alone we cut our costs of estimating drastically. It completely eliminated the waste of having to print plans to do a takeoff and estimate for that project. It was easy enough to use that I picked it up after a training session and a few of their excellent videos. Within a week we no longer used the old estimating system and had completely gone over to Planswift. I like the flexibility, ease of use, and option to create items and assemblies that produce the needed takeoff information effortlessly. I have tried the competitions software and this is by far the best bang for the buck. I especially like the plugins which can simplify takeoffs exponentially. Planswift also offers great customer support and continues to ad to the already ample tools. I would recommend Planswift to anyone wanting value, and ease of use in their takeoff software. Great for counting fixtures and color coding them. Helps with making sure you don't miss anything and being able to share the digitally marked documents instead of one set of plans. I am happy overall quality of the software. Pros This is a user friendly software. Easy to understand with our-self . We can get required linear dimension on the drawing in order to the scale. We are given option to count devices on the drawing. We can customize the software based on our requirement. We can have our project proposal with labor and material break down. The time I have saved using PlanSwift has increased my time in the field selling, and the time I get to spend with my family. I no longer sit at the dinning room table doing take off's by hand. During the training, I was able to pick up things that I never considered before making my estimates more accurate. When I first came in contact with the software I was amazed that you really could teach an old dog new tricks. The ease of doing a take-off has been wonderful. I still struggle with the values portion; understanding new age terminology has made it most difficult with adding product and labor numbers and for that reason I still have to do a lot of time consuming calculations. Thanks Review Source PL Patrick L. owner Used the software for: ### "Easy to use and customize" April 7, 2015 4.0 this product saves a lot of time and is easy to use. you can customize it to suit your needs, videos are easy to get to when you need help learning how-to. there are plug-ins available if you have trouble setting up things, someone already took the time to customize it and made it available to you. have used it for few years now and am very happy with it. there are some minor quirks as to what i tried to have it do for me, but that could be just that i do not know the program completely and still learning it.
