Planswift helps keep project documents organized. Mark-ups can be made on the spot and distributed accordingly. Good program overall.

Pros

Plan swift is a quick and easy way to store plans, mark them up and distribute to the construction team and clients.

Cons

Plan swift is very easy to use and has many features, but if you have a large team, sometimes that can get a little pricey.

Planswift is a very user-friendly software which facilitates the ease of all kinds of takeoffs. It also has the estimating features which are handy to some extend but not that sophisticated. The good point is that the software works really smooth and is not heavy to load the jobs. It is really practical for small and midsize projects.

Great product for its price.

Pros

This product helped me finish plan takeoffs quicker than our previous methods. Being able to calculate all quantities on a page by page basis was very useful.

Cons

It took a little time to learn the different functions of the program. There could be a better tour or assistance program in place.

Cons

The inability to separate values on the estimating tab can be discouraging - this small inconvenience is easily corrected when transported to excel

The 1 hour initial training upon purchase got me up and running right away. The training gave me enough information to put together (2) take-offs within the 1st week. Subsequent training sessions have allowed me to work into some of the more intricate parts of the program capabilities but I've only scratched the surface. The training consultant is very knowledgeable about the system and how to transfer the information to me in a format that I can understand. I have one more session under my original purchase agreement but I like the fact that training for specific areas can continue through Plan Swift web sessions, as I chose to participate.

This program is old and antiquated. Just a glorified spreadsheet. They have no plug-ins and very little support. You basically have to write your own program.

Pros

It does calculations pretty good. But that's about it

Cons

Too many cons to mention. It is currently non-functional and should not be sold. Plus they will not give you a refund once you buy it.

What I like about PlanSwift is that it is very easy to use while it provides useful features. Would like to commend their customer service, they are very quick and solved my issue immediately.

Cons

So far I do not have any major issue while using PlanSwift. It really helped us to finish our projects.......

I own a small construction consulting firm that specializes in concrete and earthwork. I was performing take-offs using another software program and wasn't necessarily in the market to switch. After going through an hour of hands-on training with Planswift, i was convinced to switch software programs, which is what I did. The training was beneficial and opened my eyes to what this software can do. It is extremely user friendly. The user-interface may seem basic but the performance is outstanding. The radius function is a time-saver. Customer support is right on and very helpful. I'm glad I made the switch.

I switched from my previous software to PlanSwift because wanted to get rid of their software dongle and required me to have License Manager running on a server (24-7) to access and utilize their software in a virtual environment, which was unacceptable, as I am a single user with a single license.

Very feature rich.

Cons

PlanSwift needs a User's Manual.

I have used a few different computerized estimating programs over the past 20 years. Using PlanSwift has by far been the greatest enhancement since going to computerized estimating. Although its nice to have a set of blueprints in front of you for reference, it not necessary and takes up much less space. If I need to take a project off at home, I no longer have to spread the plans out on the dining room table. I have my information wherever my laptop is. Making my runs to the jobsites... I have "MY" noted up plans and estimates for every job without making the kids ride in the back of the truck to school.

Pros

Once setup to your individual needs this program makes takeoffs and estimating so much faster and easier.

Cons

The program can be a bit overwhelming with programming calculations into custom assemblies. It works off of what seems to be Microsoft Excel based equations and if you're not familiar you can get left behind.

Easy to learn. Quick Tech Support

Cons

Sometimes, if you are working too quickly, the program will lock up for a minute. It just has to catch up

Taking the time to set up your templates was key for me to faster takeoffs. If I had anything bad to say about Planswift, it would be that it is to slow developing newer versions with new tools. It is easy to understand due to its organization of folders, many estimation options already configured, look very good, and Excel interface. A lot of Youtube classes.

Cons

You need many online classes to set up as needed. Transfer to excel without the calculation formulas.

Pros

I work on several new jobs a day and was concerned about the time it would take to create multiple jobs using PlanSwift. Creating a new job only takes a few minutes; it is easy to upload all of the information and set a scale. PlanSwift saves me a lot of time from printing and doing manual calculations. It also removes a lot of the human error from estimating.

Cons

I don't like that I cannot send the data I collect directly into my estimating cost software.

Simple effective takeoff tool that helps visually prevent errors or missed items on your takeoffs.

Pros

Simple straigt forward interface, exports to excel with a mouse click, user can create formulas to perform multiple tasks with one measurement, allows printing of plans in full size color if you have the capability, plenty of video tutorials. Allows you to check the license in and out for use on another machine. Good value for the price.

Cons

There are no cons from my perspective.

PlanSwift has made my job as an estimator much easier and much faster. Drawings that used to take me days to takeoff by had now take me hours. Some of PlanSwifts' features are a little clunky and the program crashes on occasion but overall good product I would recommend.

The new changes PlanSwift has made to the program is a lot more user friendly. I really like the "new tab" and "undock tab" features. Only thing I miss are the old customer service guys. They were great! It's a little frustrating not being able to reach customer service when something I did goes wrong and I need help to meet a deadline. After a period of time on the phone, the call goes to a general mail box. You may get an call back or not. "Chat with help" after a period of time will just cut you off. Growing pains I guess. I will still use PlanSwift over other programs.
