### "System Center your private cloud."

February 15, 2018

4.0

This system spans most area of technologies required for your business. It is not very easy to set all system up, but when everything is done, you can enjoy management your whole infrastructure.

Pros

With multiple components of this system you can build your own private cloud, in which you can manage your own virtual machines, which can be based on different technologies Hyper-V or VMware,do backups to protect your data, monitor your infrastructure and automate routine tasks. And all those things can be tightly integrated with public Microsoft cloud Azure in hybrid scenario or for realization different separate purposes as backuping, site recovery, automation and LogAnalitics in the cloud.

Cons

No so easy to setup and manage, required experience and knowledge from administrator in multiple IT arias.

### "What is System Center"

April 26, 2019

5.0

This product is almost identical to the HP BSM. SCCM is more cost-effective if total purchasing costs are prioritized.

Pros

SCCM allows us to manage mobile devices with physical and virtual clients. It can centralize installation, configuration, and update operations. We can also enable it to integrate with other components such as Active Directory, WSUS.

Cons

Since this product is designed for large structures, it takes some time to learn. Also the price is a bit expensive.

### "Try managing 3000 devices without something like this."

April 2, 2018

4.0

We can manage 400 servers and 2500 desktops with ease.

Pros

Automation and reporting for compliance. All Windows Updates are delivered and staged in a controlled and predictable fashion at scale. Machines obey the rules and report back compliance. This makes it easy to only worry about a few systems that are not well behaved. Same can be said of delivering applications, OS feature updates, and OS images. I can't imagine dealing with this many Windows systems without a tool like this.

Cons

To deal with things at scale everything works with delays and over a period of time. This can sometimes make creating and testing changes difficult as it can take time for this to all work. All work is in the background and log analyzers are needed to understand what a client is doing if it is not working.

### "Microsoft System Center Service Manager"

January 5, 2017

4.0

Little know Microsoft ships an enterprise class ITSM Help Desk tool with its System Center suite. It is built around the ITIL frame work and covers incident, problem, change, release, knowledge, asset and service management. It is really well thought out, if you think like Microsoft. It is not the easiest tool to navigate nor to customize. If you invest yourself it is capable of a serious amount of automation. I have a love hate relationship with it. Once you get it working it is really good, but it doesn't have the fullest amount of documentation and requires you to do a lot of self learning. For us it is worth the price. It is included in an enterprise agreement.

Pros

It is full featured and tracks all of the ticket types we want to

Cons

Complex, not well documented

### "System Center Tools 2012 R2; Configuration Manager,Orchestrator,Operations Manager,Service Manager"

February 1, 2017

5.0

Configuration Manager, Orchestrator, Operations Manager, and Service Manager. I administer, develop in, and technically use each of these products. As a whole, as long as their is an understanding of Data Center Management, these tools are smart to implement as well as ease of crossing lines with these tools as far as going from creating deployments in Configuration Manager, creating a runbook in Orchestrator or setting up new Event ID's for custom monitoring in Operations Manager, and even creating Self-Service Service-Requests to accommodate all of this in an automated fashion has been made much easier and efficient. Thank you Microsoft System Center team for your continued efforts in making our jobs as Tools administrators easier and more efficient.

### "Happy about SCOM and SCCM of system center"

February 4, 2019

5.0

I have used System Center for as well as monitoring as deploying software to clients for the company I currently work for. In the future I will also use this to deploy operating systems and provide updates using system center.

Pros

Gives the the very useful possibility to monitor systems, to deploy laptops with an operating systems and their applications. Also nice to provide updates to the clients.

Cons

It's a pretty high cost and it's not the most straightforward. It's quite complex and requires a specific point of technical expertise.

### "A great solution in all in one"

June 9, 2020

4.0

With System Center Operations Manager we resolve the lacks of deep monitoring, like if any services on Windows Server goes down, if a deamon on Linux/Solaris server goes down. With System Center Operations Manager we can monitoring Services, SNMP, WMI, Ping, etc.

Pros

It allows you get all information, all monitoring features on any devices where the agent is installed. It allows you develope an software update or a windows update.

Cons

To use the all features on a end devices, you must install the agent of System Center. Without the agent the features are limited.

Reason for choosing System Center

We choose both. Solarwinds Orion for SNMP and Ping monitoring and SCOM for deep monitoring.

The learning curve with SCCM is pretty high and can take a while to learn how to use it.

### "System Center - WDS on Overdrive?"

April 16, 2019

4.0

I would recommend System Center to any business or district with a large amount of Windows workstations. It works great for our staff who need to be able to install any application on their machine that they need.

Pros

System Center is an excellent piece of software provided by Microsoft that runs as a virtual server in our rack. It has been extremely helpful in streamlining our process in which we push out applications. In addition, System Center also allows us to publish our own "app store" that allows our faculty to download what they want on their machines without needing admin access. It also handles all WDS functionality on top of everything else.

Cons

It is very difficult to set up compared to a simple WDS server. We are still not configured fully after a couple months of tweaking with it. Perhaps we are doing something wrong, but it seems as confusing to configure as a domain controller.

### "System Center provides a powerful way to configure clients. "

August 1, 2018

4.0

Pros

System Center provide many options for configuring your clients. It uses AD to view any PC on the network, and manage them. The reports that it can provide are very detailed and easy to access. You can do almost anything to your endpoints with this product.

Cons

It is very expensive to implement, and does take much time and training to learn to use. There are a lot of errors that are not detailed clearly and sometimes the admin tools are hard to access.

### "No Better Way To Manage Windows Clients"

November 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

System Center makes it nearly mindless to deploy new Windows client machines, manage updates, and make pre-approved software easily accessible to end-users. Also, it's remote assistance capabilities work pretty well.

Cons

While it does do remotely assisting end-users better than most other software I've used, it can still be laggy at time, and they way you can view the users' monitors is very limited.

### "Our organization uses this for allowing quick access to needed software"

March 24, 2018

4.0

Pros

This allows for easy setup of new computers. We have a fairly high turnover rate so we are constantly setting up new users.

Cons

It doesn't seem to be integrated into our approval process. If I need software that requires "approval" it seems to be clunky. I click the "requires approval" and days go by before it's approved.
