Pros: We love how easy it is to build emails in benchmark. The drag and drop editor is perfect for our newsletters.

Cons: Would love to see more customization options in the drag and drop editor. Gavin, Thanks for the review and sharing your experience with others :) . In regards to matching fonts with your brand, I know it can be a pain sometimes, specially since we only show web-friendly fonts and styles. Pros: That is free to PTA's! I like the fairly ease of use - -but wish there was a little more flexibility in the design features. And the blocks can sometimes make it tricky and tedious to edit.

Cons: The login -it never saves my password. And - sometimes it asks for the email address to login and other times it asks for username. This is confusing. I have had a lot of trouble with this. I also don't like that your account is closed down if you have too many bounces - - on the first time sending something out. It shouldn't do this unless it is a multiple case scenario. Schools search for alumni - this is the case. They give an email address to Harris Publishing that does our directory and we assume it is "good" but then it comes back. And - major corporations do not like Benchmark emails -and bounce them.

Pros: Quick and easy method to sending mass emails and I like the up to date analytics with open rates and bounce backs as well.

Cons: Cost was a little more than I could budget at this time; we are a start up division and unfortunately we have to scrutinize all expenses.

Overall: Quick email templates to send at moments notice or plan for future campaigns.

I am finding this software to be very easy to work with and integrate within our websites.

Pros: I really enjoy the drag and drop for email set up, as well as the ability to send surveys. I think this will be a great fit for our company.

Cons: I dislike the fact that I can not upload a "Paid List" even if they are our demographic and the list came from an affiliated company.

In regards to purchased lists, we don't allow you to upload them without having permission but, I have a suggestion on how you can get permission. Try looking into Facebook Audiences. Facebook allows you to upload a list of emails to which you can showcase ads to. Your ad can be a request for signup. I know this adds an extra step, but it ensures a quality signup and it also creates a better engagement rate since they will become more familiar with your brand as well. Pros: Cost- We are a small nonprofit so this service has really helped us to keep costs down especially since we have such a very small email list.

Cons: I wish the templates were a little easier to customize (changing background colors to match our organization's colors, etc)

Pros: This software is very easy to use. You don't have to have a whole lot of technical knowledge. As someone starting out and new I found it very useful

Cons: Some of the templates seem a little limited. Also it is like to see more ways for it to be a little more interactive

Pros: Robust features even at the free level. Also, excellent customer service/IT help, again, even at the free level.

Cons: Some features not intuitive. I did get conflicting information from 2 help desk contacts, but the second contact easily and quickly resolved my problem.

Overall: It did what I needed it to do.

Pros: Click and drag feature makes it easy, step by step instructions. Also the reporting is just what I need to see.

Cons: I think the price is a bit high for monthly e-newsletters, would like an option for quarterly too that would be less.

Overall: easy streamlined marketing that is directed to our clientel

Pros: It was pretty easy to use. I liked the variety of templates and the reports were very useful. I like the sign up forms.

Cons: I didn't understand the segments. I switched back to my old email list because I was more familiar with it and it tied in with some other items that I needed to do with my website, specifically the landing pages.

Pros: Benchmark is easy to use. Easy to set up. Good for very simple customer outreach, i.e a storefront that collects emails and wants to alert customers to sales.

Cons: Very limited feature set. Not standard at this point.

Overall: I have used other email marketing programs. I chose Benchmark because I wanted an inexpensive option for a project for a client. I would say Benchmark is easy to use and easy to learn especially if you have ever used an email marketing program before. But like all software programs, it has its quirks and you learn to get around them.

But Benchmark's tutorials, FAQs and feature lists may not supply you with all the information you need. For instance, there are two email automation programs that each offer only one or two automated steps after the trigger. Nowhere in the documentation did it clearly state that only the Automation Pro, that is still in Beta, offers a customer¿s journey that you can use to send out more than two emails in a sequence.

On the other hand, don't pay for more than you need. If you blast out emails to a list of established customers with only quarterly sales discounts, or discounts for birthdays and holidays, Benchmark is enough. And Benchmark is inexpensive. But if you want to onboard various segments of your customers, educating them and eliciting their engagement, this is not the email marketing program for you.

There are two locations for live support, one is offshore and the other is domestic. The offshore folks are nice people but they mainly operate by rote. The domestic support gets it right, but I am still waiting to find out if a personalized greeting can be added to the Automation Beta. In my opinion, a personalized greeting should be a standard feature in a customer's journey. I don't know if it is or not and none of their stated info tells you.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't forget that you get what you pay for.

Pros: Easy of Use, non-profit discounts, several email design options

Overall: We've been using Benchmark Email since 2010 after testing three different ESPs first. The big draw, in the beginning, was the special pricing for non-profits. In the recent 2-3 years, though, Benchmark has improved their features immensely, especially the email editor tool, with drag and drop editing and several email design options.

Comments: I have used MailChimp and I have found a benchmark to be the best of all! Seems to have the best functionality and format customization available. I would love to see more fonts and a cleaner benchmark stamp for the bottom.

Pros: The emails look very professional and the software is easy to use.

Cons: I was not getting enough feedback compared to another marketing tool I have used, so I decided to stop using Benchmark.

Overall: I tried Benchmark Email for a couple of months and while I found it fairly easy to use, I was disappointed in the low amount of "views" my emails got when I checked on the status. I understand that since I do not have my own domain named email, that free email services such as "Gmail" often end up in spam filters. However, I have used another email marketing service and got more opened emails through them, so I fear the stigma is more on Benchmark than the fact that I use a free email provider. Otherwise, I can't explain why the other service I have used worked better. For this reason, I have stopped using Benchmark, after a couple of months, and went back to my previous provider. It's no offense to the service, but if it's not working for me, as a marketing tool, why should I continue to use it?

Pros: Simple email editor, The free plan comes with features for beginners to email marketing or for bloggers and small businesses.

Cons: The email automation in the freeplan only allows one-off emails like welcome emails. What i wanted was to create drip campigns such as email courses but unfortunately the free plan doesnt allow that.

I wish they had stated what the freeplan can and cannot do before i signed up, because i was looking forward to A/B testing, indepth reports and creating drip campigns but the free plan doesn't allow that.

Overall: I¿m almost always on the lookout for free marketing software¿s to test out and after using SendinBlue and MailChimp, I wanted something with email marketing automation similar to MailChimp but with a smooth UI and design the abilities of MailChimp.

I found Benchmark while searching for free email automation software¿s on Google.

I wanted an email marketing software to create an email course. I could have used SendinBlue but I wanted one that would notify me whenever someone joins the course, I also wanted a software that integrated with Facebook.

Benchmarks free plan caught my eyes and I signed up after asking the online support a few questions.

Pros: Responsive templates somewhat similar to Active Hosted Drag and Drop editor. Creating templates email templates were easy and the customization options were great.

Cons: I asked the customer support if I could add an image header in the email signup form (MailChimp supports this) and he said yes. Sadly, like Zoho Forms and SendinBlue forms, the design options for signup forms are very limited and doesn¿t allow more branding options.

Comments: After reviewing a number of products (most notably MailChimp & AWeber) I selected Benchmark as being the most appropriate for a start-up. Isn't it great when you know you've made the right decision? I wanted easy design with professional outcome / auto responders with strong analytics / mobile app / list management / accessible support Benchmark gives me everything I wanted and tons more but the most important thing of all is their absolutely amazing support. One on one handholding when I've needed it, not that it is difficult to use. Sally Beers has been my assigned support contact since day 1 and is excellent at her job.

Pros: The standout custoemr service

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't assume you have to use mailchimp to get all the services you are looking for and remember you can't put a value on the one on one support available.

Cons: The support received from the company over a simple error with an email "opens" report.

Overall: I was very excited to try Benchmark due to its high reviews in various places. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of support received from my national account manager, Tom Mitchell. First he emails to ask if he can help with any questions, then he doesn't respond even with a simple help article about why an email might be "under review," and after I provided screenshots and detailed analysis of HIS product's problems, he wanted to deflect me to chat support. I'm a chief strategy officer. I'm not going to use live chat support, sorry. It seems like this platform is meant for small fries and not for real businesses. I'll be going over to Mailchimp or Constant Contact... they'll at least make an effort to win my business.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't bother. Go with a better known platform and save time.

Comments: No one asked us to write this review--we just want to make sure you know that Benchmark has been absolutely excellent! Two Way Play has engaged with Benchmark to send out a large number of emails announcing the release of our app, Knock-Knock! Who's There? and the upcoming app books in the series. Their software is extremely user-friendly, even for those who are not tech-savvy. The visuals, instructions, and tutorials are clear, plentiful, and easy to follow. And their Customer Service is superb! They are super-knowledgeable and responsive. All EXCELLENT!

Comments: Benchmark Email is in my opinion the greatest innovation for businesses eager to automate and streamline their customer service processes without stress, while saving time and money. Benchmark has enabled our small business to provide that personal touch of white glove customer service without breaking the bank, and pulling our hair out. Comments: I've had experience with other email service providers and have generally found them lacking in one way or another, but Benchmark Email has been able to satisfy all my email marketing needs. They are extremely proficient in every aspect of their offerings, and just some of the highlights include their crystal clear analytics interface, their extremely effective and well-designed templates, and their ability to achieve elevated deliverability levels.

Pros: Their A/B Split Testing system is definitely one of the easiest to use that I've ever seen, making what is generally a time consuming and confusing task extremely simple and straightforward. I also appreciate the breadth of their survey options.

Cons: Their interface is very effective on smartphones, tablets, and laptop screens but gets a bit too big on a 32" PC monitor.

Comments: I've been using Benchmark's new email designer program to make striking emails that I know will catch anyone's eye! It's easy to use, intuitive, and most importantly: fun! The designer is clear, concise, and helps to make your email campaigns look professional. With great templates to work from, color schemes to help create a certain vibe, and Benchmark's video and written tutorials I've been able to learn a side of running a business that I never knew could be so helpful. Marketing online through email campaigns is extremely useful, and Benchmark makes it fun and easy!

Comments: I am a marketer for an eCommerce company in the Promotional Products industry, and have to consistently look up advertising emails from our suppliers to market. With Benchmark's new email editor, many of the emails I received have looked significantly better! One of our suppliers originally seem to email an image altogether, with the image itself linking to one landing page. Now, with the new editor, I see the same supplier advertising many promotional items, all properly linked, and incorporating beautiful banners as well! It has done well not only for that business, but for me to use these emails when I forward it to my customers. Since Benchmark has launched the new editor... their emails look amazing and simple to use!

Pros: Editor, Design, Customer Service, User-Friendly
