Pros Many built in features making it much easier to creat surveys. Also built in reporting tools making it easier to analyze your data/results. Cons I have not had any issues or complaints while using it. It did take a while to learn all the features compared to when we used survey monkey so just seeing all the features that are available. For beginners, a simple survey that looks just ok is easy to do, but any more complex functionality will take some learning. It's relatively easy to find support and help since it's well used, but for non-tech users, it might not be the best solution. For power users, I think you'll find the functionality and customization that you want/need. Pros There's a lot of functionality and can likely do what you want it to do, if you can figure out how to implement it. Cons It's not the most intuitive software and not the easiest to make a "nice" survey very quickly. There's a lot of menus to navigate to do even common tasks. Review Source Natalie S. It interfaces well with excel and our student workers can quickly track the data for our IR department to upload and process. Since switching to this product our staff are more able to track and analyze data which has lead to better data driven decisions Cons It may just be my role, or how we are using it, but we are very demented on IR for the creation. It feels like it is either too complicated to teach others how to make surveys. I wish there was a better way for persons in my position to take charge of the survey creation. My fellow officers and myself came to rely on Qualtrics whenever we needed to make a decision that involved others in our organization. Pros Being able to create and monitor surveys in a simple yet effective manner. This is a great site for anyone wanting to make a survey because they give you the necessary tools to create basic ones and much more complex ones. Cons Nothing. I did have to try numerous times in order to finally create my survey successfully but once I was familiar with the site it was a piece of cake. Review Source Samantha B. You don't need to take a class in order to make your first survey Cons I don't have anything that I don't like. It's a nice, easy software to use for doing mass surveys. Now with Qualtrics each researcher has their own account and create, distribute, and review data at will. It has dramatically increased our utilization of the survey tool and created less complications for our IRB committee to review products in. Now the data is safe in the hands of the researcher and not a third party. We are thrilled with how easy Research Core is to use and how well the product is being adopted! Pros Qualtrics is very easy to use and puts the ownership of survey creation and data collection in the hands of the surveyor. With Research Core you get all the bells and whistles without any added stress of learning a new tool. In a matter of minutes you can create a survey and begin collecting data. Implementation was a breeze with dedicated training and guidance from Qualtrics. We recently changed our authentication method and Qualtrics Support did a great job in getting our login changed over in a matter of minutes. AMAZING! Cons My only complaint about Qualtrics is the creating or sharing of survey distribution lists. They are easy to create/use, but our institution does not have them readily available for use. Pros I have been using and teaching qualtrics to my students for years now. I consider Qualtrics to be the 'gold standard' of survey platforms. It is very flexible, contains good library of scales, allows for A/B testing, experimentation, and variety of other tools for academics and practitioners. Cons If you want to use advanced features and work on a complex survey/testing, then you will have to learn and use their coding language. Not really that difficult, but something new you'd have to learn. " June 15, 2018 5.0 Pros The logic used in creating a survey is really very intuitive and easy to understand, which makes creating an adaptive survey a breeze. Most other survey software I've used stops there, if we even get that far. With Qualtrics, we are able to then simply create stunning reports with fantastic visual aids and comprehensive analytics. Cons The logic, while easy enough to understand, does come with a bit of a learning curve, so my recommendation is to check, double check, and triple check your survey to make sure it's behaving how you want it to before it goes live. One of the best feature according to me is the many if-else conditions that be easily put in Qualtrics without much fuss. Cons The analytics part is not quite intuitive. I would definitely recommend it. Pros I have used Qualtrics for surveys and data analysis for a couple of years now, part from market research projects during college. But now, we use Qualtrics as an effective way to send surveys to customers of our clients and get their feedback on the client's products/services. I love how easy it is to build out the surveys and analyze the results. Customer support/our Qualtrics rep has also been great in helping us structure the questions to make sure they are phrased correctly and are fair to the people answering them. Cons From the experiences I've had with Qualtrics, I wouldn't say there are many cons. I think depending on how in-depth of research you are doing, the phrasing of questions can get kind of tricky. For instance, when using the tool for an undergrad research project, we had to be very careful in choosing the types of questions we asked in order for it to be relevant to our initial hypothesis. But this is a more general word of caution than a drawback to the tool itself. Review Source Zach R. I created my first survey with Qualtrics with ease. I have since seen many companies and researchers mail out a link that people can fill out. The data is then easy to collect and interpret. I do not think I would be able to create surveys without this. Cons I started using this product before they re-branded and improved the aesthetics of their software. After years on Survey Monkey I did not realize how much room for improvement there was. We adapted it in the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley and nearly all of the faculty (myself included) preferred it to SurveyMonkey. The ease of website integration is also a major plus. Cons The cost is a bit high - I looked into an individual license after leaving the university. It becomes a quality decision - think of this as the Lexus of survey tools. There is a lot more power to create surveys that are complex but present as simple to the user. The analytics capability is great, and you can download your data in multiple file types including SPSS. I really like how they offer a 'survey IQ' and suggest ways to improve your survey. They also have almost any response type you can think of as an option. Cons I don't tend to use the embedded reporting a lot, though it is a cool feature. Qualtrics can do it all, the platform had anything you could ask for, it was 100% customized to me. We did not get too far into implementation, but it seemed as though it would be simple to implement with the help of their customer support. Cons Price. They are an enterprise level solution. I love how much control I have over the design and layout and logic! Cons Qualtrics can be a little hard to navigate at first, but overall it's the pricing for non-students that I can't get over. Pros Qualtrics makes great data collection software. It is a robust software that gives you many options to gather the information you need. You can be extremely simple or highly complex. I often use this for simple interest surveys at our University. It is easy to share the survey's and interpret the data. Cons For the most part the software is intuitive.
