Pros I like how you can take surveys on their platform in real time and from a mobile device. Their surveys allow you to contribute feedback to shape the design of cool products/tech and other research. Cons Sometimes it's slow which makes completing the survey a little tedious. Also sometimes you will be half way through a survey before it finally determines you weren't a fit for the survey in the first place which can be annoying. Review Source James K. However, it made my work somewhat challenging when I used it for a project. We discontinued its use because we were unable to customize it for our mobile devices. It is not very helpful when it comes to rural or offline data collection. I realized the web version of the software also uses cookies, which can make life difficult sometimes. Pros Qualtrics has an easy-to-use dashboard. It is relatively easier to find all your current projects or deployed surveys. The data analysis dashboard is also super-easy to use. Qualtrics is one of the few high-quality and efficient survey and data collections I have used. It is great for both qualitative and quantitative questions. Cons A major drawback to this amazing software is the difficulty in creating and managing more advanced or complex projects using Qualtrics. I find it more difficult in creating and editing questions and templates in Qualtrics compared to other survey designers and deployment platforms I have used in my work. It doesn't have any distractions on the side when you take surveys. Cons Not sure if this pertains to just the administrators that were using this product, but when I took surveys, I couldn't take the same survey more than once the same way the option can be made available in Google Chrome. Pros Qualtrics helps create surveys, collect responses, and analyze results seamlessly, automating the entire survey process. With precise tools and options, you can put survey questions into one of Qualtrics' pre-made templates and distribute them to target audiences in minutes. Qualtrics improves the quality and accuracy of workers in the field, enabling them to reach the required categories with high precision. Qualtrics quickly generates tabulated and structured graph reports and allows us to export the results to other statistical analysis programs for further study. Capable of so much more and easier to use than other application. I recommend Qualtrics to everyone. Pros The tutorials and the community posts have been so helpful! If I am not sure how to do something, going to those pages helps. Definitely recommend reviewing the videos when starting to use Qualtrics. The reports (data and visual) are great and that you can manipulate which data to focus on helps narrow the data. Cons If you are used to a simpler survey software, it takes some time to get used to it as there is a lot of functions to use. The margins seem to annoy everyone especially if it causes the user to scroll over more. The images for the PowerPoint export are cropped oddly so if you try to enlarge it, it looks distorted. It has really helped me when working with HR needs assessments or other data collecting activities. Pros Collecting and analyzing data with Qualtrics is easy. From setup, to design, to distribution, Qualtrics has your back. It is constantly giving you tips and tricks to make your research better. This only helps you in the long run. Cons Depending on what level of account you have, you can be limited in response options. Unlimited everything is the way to go if you're going to be utilizing the software often or have a lot of responses you intend to collect. The surveys themselves are clean and easy to navigate for your survey-takers. Qualtrics lets you analyze your results using several different metrics, which can reveal data you weren't previously expecting. Cons Sometimes there are too many features and it can be overwhelming. The mobile user experience is fantastic. Cons The creator interface leaves a little to be desired, especially when compared with the excellent mobile user experience. There are multiple formatting options when designing your measure so you can make multiple types of assessments. You can also edit the way the assessment appears on a mobile device. Additionally, I love how it seamlessly tracks responses and converts all the data to an excel file. Cons You have to pay for a subscription in order to get access to all of the software's functions. Pros I work for a research company and we have evaluations that we complete over the phone or through the web. Before we purchased Qualtrics, we had an in house tool that was broken and slow. You can customize the product to your needs and it has a very pleasing aesthetic. Cons No complaints so far about Qualitrics' solution. I have been able to make surveys just like I want them to be and later analyze the results with R. Pros Qualtrics has all the functionality that I need it to have. The interface is user-friendly and easy to use. There are numerous ways you can set up your survey. It is advanced features to make the survey just like you want it. Cons There isn't any real con with the software itself, however, some people may find it to be expensive. I am able to use it for free as it is through the University but I can understand that the price may not be appealing. Pros Qualtrics provides a variety of great tools for conducting research. Qualtrics Research Core makes it extremely easy to create a survey to assess the needs of your audience or to find out the habits or activity of a population. This program is great for a wide variety of applications. We use it very frequently and are always very pleased with the ease of use, the power of the program, the results that it provides and the analysis of the results. This program makes the data collection aspect of my job very easy, and the results it provides are simple to understand and allow us to easily apply it to the research we are conducting. Qualtrics also provides feedback for survey optimization to make sure that the survey will work properly on a wide variety of devices. This is nice to see since we want to make sure that all of the participants are able to easily give us their feedback and complete the survey rather than quit halfway through due to a technical issue. Cons I have yet to find any significant cons that aren't a result of my inattention or mistake. This software works great. Review Source Paul W. I like that they are quick and easy to set up, which lets me use it for the simpler tasks and not just "save" it for the tougher stuff. Pros I appreciate that Qualtrics uses logic to allow me to route users towards and away from questions or groups of questions based on previous answers. As a survey taker nothing fatigues me more than being asked irrelevant questions that should be excluded based off my prior answers. It has great tools for distributing and reminding, and makes it easy to check the status as well as collect responses and import into Excel. Cons The Excel data does need some cleanup, which is unsurprising but I do wish I had more control (or simpler control) over what the output looked like. We have been fortunate to work with the same person on two surveys so far. Qualtrics does a great job in asking you questions to figure out what you are really looking for in survey responses. We have done freeware like SurveyMonkey but were not getting the reach we were looking for in responses. Qualtrics had a great survey interface that is customizable among several different themes. Visiting Assistant Professor Higher Education Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Qualtrics is a super powerful, customizable data collection tool but may be overkill for some projec" April 8, 2021 5.0 As I've said, Qualtrics is incredibly powerful, and I've used it to great success for complicated tasks where I need respondents to see one prompt or another alternatingly, or based on some previous responses, etc. However, it's definitely for more complex things like this, and something free and simple like Google Forms can take care of simpler survey tasks. Pros Qualtrics has nearly unlimited options for customizing the survey that's presented to the end user (question types, question organization, etc), and is incredibly powerful for reaching lots of users. It also makes exporting your responses easy to do in a wide range of formats. Cons Because it's so powerful and complex, it's also got a pretty steep learning curve. Surveys are very simple to create, the data is easy to analyze and we can distribute the surveys with ease. Pros Qualtrics makes creating complex surveys very simple. Within the creating survey functions, we are able to ask a diverse set of questions, such as, stratified questions, rating questions, questions based on images or videos, and much more. Another great benefit is it is easy to distribute surveys we create. Users follow a simple link and are able to take the surveys on their phone or computer. Cons On occasion we have had users report that the videos placed in the survey have not loaded properly. To solve this, users would have to refresh the page. Review Source Steve B. It is intuitive to create new projects and offers a diverse array of options for those projects. However, I find that it is not as easy to create "advanced" projects in Qualtrics as in other software. Pros Easy to configure an NPS question and link into existing studies, offers industry standard studies like SUS "out of the box." (Or our administrator made templates that look like built-in features) Cons It was more difficult to customize the questions in Qualtrics than in other products used to manage user surveys. It has allowed us to conduct lab experiments by making pre-test, stimulus, and post-test. For instance, we just recently used Qualtrics CoreXM for our research on public opinion on climate change. Pros The most I liked about Qualtrics is its functionality. It has helped me in conducting survey experiments. Cons I don't remember anything I did not like about Qualtrics CoreXM . Perhaps, they should develop the settings in a way that the subjects of an experiment cannot scroll the video attached to the Qualtrics. Review Source LaToya B. I have my templates setup with the UNLV logo in the top left corner and then I go from there! Pros When a Qualtrics survey is opened by a participant, you can rest assured that it demonstrates professionalism. The look is clean, straight-forward, and appealing. It also has many options when creating your survey. I do not believe I've ever come across something I need it to do that it doesn't. Cons While creating a the survey is easy to do, I find that the next steps are not self-explanatory or user-friendly. For example, if I send out a ballot and I want to ensure that folks only get one vote, setting that up is not as easy as creating the ballot itself.
