Pros A lot of people don't realize they are visual learners, and they grasp information best when they can visualize data or information. As someone who belatedly learned to be a visual learner and was able to be much more productive, the data visualization in the interface is a great help when planning for space implementation / distribution / management. Cons As someone who is not tech savvy; while I appreciate the interface, the ability to do a lot of things is great but the interface will take a while to learn to navigate through. In our workplace, this is a challenge for people who are not technologically proficient, and an individual's ability to grasp and digest usability will vary depending on their experience. The only comment I'd make is the customer support could be tightened up. Pros It's a hugely intuitive system which has made the rollout to the wider user base much easier. Most users can be trained with a 25 minute video we recorded. Cons The only real downside is the speed of the reporting module. The functionality is great, but it's terribly slow. Non-facility related groups have approach us to use the system to manage their asset inventories. That has worked well and they now connect assets with space. Cons Relationships between database tables can, at times, be challenging to manage especially if not experienced in the use of databases. Product has become more popular and, as a result, support personnel respond slower. Additional support personnel would be beneficial. Then after a few weeks of training I realize how much it could do and how it can grown with our company. I knew I had found a tool that once you were trained on it, our company was in good hands to do space planning, asset management, move management and many other things that would be very beneficial to me. THE MOVE MANAGEMENT MODULE IS MY FAVORITE. I DO MOVES TODAY LIKE A KING!!!!! Cons When it comes to customization in some areas, it was challenging. Trying to customize my office maps with particular color, sizes or adding in particular notes for a certain area. We will be rolling it out globally and it has taken a long time to get it to this place. Pros It is robust and can handle a lot of the basic and custom Workplace tasks including (move management, space managment, ticket management, scenario planning, etc). The new scenario planning tools is great. Cons Without extensive planning and configuration, there will be a lot of issues. Not as user friendly as I would like. Also, if the data is hosted by FM, it can be slow. Pros \- Easy and intuitive to setup, use and maintain - Can be used out-of-the-box, no customization needed (unless you want something special) - Well priced (no hidden cost, unlike many of the big, enterprise systems) - Modular system, so you only pay for the modules you need - Very responsive (and effective!) customer support - FMS keeps adding new features - Provides self-host and hosted options Cons It is only compatible with AutoCAD or their own CAD software. Pros The reporting capabilities are the largest and most critical function I want to comment on. The ability to filter the data you want similar to Excel and then export the exact/specific data you want to Excel in just a few clicks is fantastic. Creating ad hoc reports for a specific request or question is very easy. Cons As is norm with any 3rd party vendor / software, the sales team promises the world and says every feature is available and possible. Only to find out that it is in the future roadmap and not yet released. There's also the issue of customizable and configurable - lots of things we want were possible but defined in a way that it would cost money to implement. Even though we use it for basic functions, it fits our needs. Pros We primarily use Space Management and Move Management and I enjoy how easy it is to use. It was easy to learn, is simple and straight-forward. Hardly any issues with implementation. Cons I feel that everyone in the organization says that creating reports is extremely easy however I find it fairly difficult, even after taking courses in FM: University. Although the space management system was an excellent tool, it still required certain additional capabilities, such as mobile phone compatibility Pros Single dash board with ease of configuration is the thing which i like the most in this software, Ability to Quickly respond to inquiries about space, such as how much room a particular department has or which departments are housed in a building. When we were using Aperture, it was difficult to extract data from the programme. Cons The reporting was a little difficult to create and customize for the planners, facilities management leadership, and data analysts, therefore that job had to be done inside of MS SQL server. Ease of use is key and FM:Interact hits the mark. Cons Reporting is lacking. Free solutions like Microsoft PowerBI make it easy and I hope to one day see FM:Systems publish content packs for it that will allow PowerBI to integrate seamlessly with FM:Interact data.
