Pros: If you have the resource to invest as a company, Marketo can be a powerful marketing automation software. It's very customisable.

Cons: It's no user friendly. you need to have FTE in yor business if you want to run full marketing programs. There are other solutions out there that far easier to use and do more or less the same thing.

Pros: This is a great tool to have to track the digital footprints of a prospect. When they go to your web site you see ever click and with analytics it gives you a great snap shot of perspective buyers and persona

Cons: I cant say I disliked anything. I wish the web and social came together in a one package maybe because the 2 tools together are powerful. The Marketo Social gives a snapshot of what perspective buyers are saying about you on social media and with advanced analytics its a powerful tool

Overall: This gives you insight into what prospects are interested in and gives your warm leads because when you contact the prospect you already know what is important to them based on the digital foot print they left

Comments: I am in the non-profit space, which generally has too few staff trying to do too many things. When used properly, Marketo increases our capabilities beyond what any of us alone could accomplish through a typical email-blast service. That being said, it takes discipline, time, and maybe even a dedicated personnel resource (internal or external) to get it up and running where it begin to really serve your organization's needs.

Pros: - Options for Customization of Automation Campaigns and Landing Pages - Extensive Analytical Tools - "The Sky's the Limit" on how much your marketing team can do with this tool

Cons: - The Email Editor is difficult to use, in my opinion. But if you are comfortable with writing HTML code, you can bypass the drag-and-drop editor. Also, it may not be any more difficult than any other option (I don't have a wide exposure to email builders). - The learning curve on the whole is steep. If you don't have a dedicated marketing staff person, you may be frustrated by how much time you need to set aside to learn how to use the various tools. But their documentation resources and training tools are very helpful. - You have to pay extra for full-service tech support.

Pros: This is a powerful tool that we use to generate and follow up with our leads. We can build our segments with very specific criteria and even trigger messages based on CRM data.

Cons: This requires a fair amount of development resources to connect and sync properly and also requires a fair amount of technical acumen to maintain. It is both powerful and complex.

Overall: Ability to collect user data and follow up with prospects to get them the information they need at the proper time.

Decent experience with email marketin, would probably recommend other tools over Market.

Pros: I love that Marketo allows me to assign leads equally and automatically to my team members. It can be hard to keep track of who has received leads and who has not throughout the day and Marketo makes sure that I don't have to worry about it!

Cons: I dislike that Marketo can move a lead in and out of multiple peoples names based on if there is an existing lead in Salesforce and what status that lead is in. It can be confusing to determine who that lead actually belongs to.

Pros: I like the interface. Pretty self-explanatory, allowing novice users to find their way around without much help. The ease of smart campaigns and nurture tracking tools are great. The engagement rating on nurture campaigns allows my team to assess effectiveness of each touch and adjust accordingly.

Cons: Basic reporting is very basic. For the price, I would expect more detailed reporting and dashboards.

Overall: We run all of our automated campaigns through Marketo, including social campaigns. As we expand our subscription scope, I am sure we will leverage more features to innovate our program.

Pros: I like that it can be customized to the max. I push this software far past what it's capable of. The interface is welcoming and inviting to a new user.

The online community of users is unparalleled. I have never seen a online community like this one. This is the biggest pro for this software. So many others utilize the community and you are able to have your questions answered.

Cons: The software is so customizable that a new user would be completely lost if not trained. It is not an intuitive product by any means. There are times where it will take so long to load that you can take a coffee break or the application will completely freeze.

Pros: We can create landing pages & emails without developers help. We can create multiple emails that lead to one landing page.

Cons: It's not easy to learn and there is about a 3-4 time period where you're just trying to learn it all. We've been using it since May and we're still learning more about it. Also the landing page templates are very limited. We were under the impression they'd be more "drag + drop".

Comments: We are using Marketo across the whole organization to improve and automate our marketing activities. We are using it at corporate level as well as in each operation (US, UK, DACH, France, Italy, APAC, etc). We improved ability to attract new leads and the engagement of visitors on our website.

Pros: - Workflow: the logic behind the workflows allows to automate manual activities - Lead gen: we improved the engagement of the visitors on our website and we manage the entire lead generation process on Marketo integrated with our CRM. - Programs: it is easy to create and manage emailing and nurture programs with the ability to set rules when the email should be sent. - Forms: we are using Marketo forms and we embedded them on our website.

Cons: - Integration with Dynamics: after 3 years we still have some issues on the integration with MS Dynamics... the 2 systems are not well integrated. - Support: sometimes we had some issues with getting quick replies from support. - Landing pages: it is missing a validation workflow on the thank you pages (to be sure that those who will access the thank you page have successfully filled-out the form included in the landing page).

Pros: There is almost always a way to get Marketo to do what you want it to do. If you don't know how, you might have to talk to support or even attend a training. But Marketo can probably do it.

Cons: It's so intricate, and everything is so interconnected, that there are a lot of gotchas. You better have time to double and triple check everything, because there's a good chance you'll forget something. But that's the price of highly customizable software. If it was just one big "go" button, you wouldn't be able to do all the things Marketo does.

Comments: It's as much a powerful resource for sales as it is for marketing in an integrative approach so I'd involve key stakeholders from sales in evaluating. The online demos are worth reviewing.

Pros: In today's fast paced, multi-channel environment where the abundance of information people receive in any given day exceeds the ability to process it all, I can't imagine running any kind of digital business without marketing automation. Marketo's offering is intuitive, integrates well with another cloud-based email, CRM, social, etc and has inherent capabilities to leverage best processes throughout an entire marketing/ sales lifecycle. I have only demo'd the product, used as a user, and been trained on, but have evaluated for a start-up where I would consider it essential for those embarking on digital campaigns to drive multi-channel sales.

Cons: I have not been involved in a full implementation, roll-out, and integration as a purchaser (only in business development), so I can't speak to that or any long term outcomes from initiatives, although the value is quite clear.

Comments: If you're a power email marketer, and use SFDC as your primary CRM, Marketo is not for you.

Pros: Feature rich, lots of functionality, decent reporting. You don't have to know HTML to have a decent email template,

Cons: While its feature rich, its very complicated to use. Not very intuitive when doing campaign creation, segmentation, reporting, tokens, forms - basically anything! The UI is slow and clunky and also not intuitive. Setting up multi tiered campaigns (especially webinars) and nurture streams (which is apparently a core strength) were extremely time consuming. Support is horrible. This system MAY be okay if you have a team of highly sophisticated Marketo ops people on staff to get through it, otherwise, consider other alternatives. i have ripped and replaced Marketo 2x with Pardot and couldn't be happier.

Pros: Marketo has a lot of companies that partner with them. They are a great company for Enterprise businesses.

Cons: All Marketing Automation tools are growing and have their own pros and cons. Marketo doesn't really have the whole Social tie in piece like Hubspot does, but it is able to tie into many via API. There are also some latency issues on the data processing side that gives us issues when we're bulk updating records or sending a large amount of emails.

Pros: Marketo is a complex lead generation software but if configured correctly it can do magic and automate your marketing like no other. Since using Marketo we experienced increase in sales revenues and 50% increase in lead conversion. Marketo also nicely integrates with Salesforce and you can see where your leads are in their lifecycle.

Cons: There is a learning curve to it. Also getting certified in Marketo has more complex than before. Lead nurturing, streams, and center of excellence can be hard to set up.

Pros: Marketo is the "Porsche with a manual transmission" of marketing automation platforms. It's full of cool features and is incredibly powerful. The strengths: 1) Workflow flexibility that is unmatched by other platforms. Building complex data management, lead scoring, and organizational processes (such as lead routing) is very achievable in Marketo. They basically give you every function they can possibly code and let their customers piece them together as they like (more on this in #7). 2) The engagement programs, primarily meant for lead nurturing, are truly best-in-class. It's a little bit of an adjustment at first, but it really simplifies complex nurturing tracks and saves marketers from putting prospects into multiple tracks at once (which happens more than most admit) 3) The vision is impressive. Marketo has a clear, long-term vision that they continually deliver on. Examples being advances in personalization, ABM, ect. I'd bet on them to lead the way (or buy the way via Vista ) to whatever is next in marketing automation, such as AI or machine learning.

Cons: I love Marketo. But, there are some things I don't love. 1) The landing page builder has made improvements but still, leaves some to be desired. Unless a template available for import matches what you'd like to do, you pretty much have to hire a developer to build your templates. 2) The reporting is somewhat overhyped. They REALLY sell revenue cycle analytics, but in reality, it's tough to implement and even tougher to accurately maintain. Since data is essentially timestamped and not stored in an external record (i.e. like Salesforce has for a campaign member), if you mess it up, you're SOL. Marketo's advice to me was "don't mess up."

Not easy to use. Value is not great for small to mid size companies.

Pros: Marketo is one of the better marketing automation software titles I have used. It took me longer than it probably should have to get used to the user interface and processes, but once I was up to speed, I was glad I had spent the time. It made email marketing campaigns easy, and our campaigns got better results than from our previous use of other software.

Cons: I found Marketo a little difficult to learn at first, even though my efforts were well worth it. I would like to see Marketo spend a little more time creating a platform for learning the functionality and UI.

While all three platforms provided excellent high-end functionality, we ultimately went with Marketo due to the perceived ease of use and out-of-the-box functionality. We were not disappointed.

Pros: Our team was able to get Marketo up and running in 15 days to send emails. This is NOT a standard timeframe, and we have a dedicated and very motivated team. Service and training to date have been excellent.

Cons: If you have a many-many database, think carefully and have good internal conversations before selecting Marketo. We moved from ExactTarget to Marketo, and discovered multiple challenges with our data structure during and after implementation. Long-term, we expect this to be solved with the implementation of a new CRM solution, but it has caused some short-term growing pains.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely, go for the on-site training if you can afford it. Having someone available to physically walk your teams through the new processes allowed users to get up to speed much more quickly and have more confidence in a short span of time.

Comments: Marketo is a robust marketing automation platform. During the two years that I have been using Marketo, I have become a Marketo Certified Expert, a Marketo User Group Leader and a Marketo Champion. It's easy to use and adapt, even coming from another MA platform. The tech stack that you can intertwine with Marketo is just about anything you could want or need. Integration with other plug-ins is simple and easy to set up. One of the biggest advantages of Marketo is the Community (Marketing Nation!) of users that help each other out with best practices, problems, troubleshooting, etc. Marketo is a fantastic product out of the box and I'm quickly learning that there is always new tech to plug in and an unlimited potential to grow.

Pros: Easy to use Integration is simple Robust platform Community of users

Cons: Can be slow at times Support

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall Marketo is a fantastic marketing automation platform and I would recommend it to anyone in the market.

Comments: Marketo was the clear winner when first looking at marketing automation solutions. The robust software certainly met our needs at the time, but also offered features we were very new too. This allowed us to evolve our marketing processes and streamline certain aspects of it. Marketo will take a few months to learn the basics, and even then you will find yourself learning new things even years later. With the valuable resources Marketo offers, they set you up for success.

Pros: - Customize-able. You can certainly find a way to accomplish any marketing task. - The Community is a tremendous resource to learn and Certification is available to validate your proficiency.

Cons: - Support can take a few days to resolve issues. - Navigation and accessibility can be a bit earlier, (ex. cannot run ¿Lead Actions¿ from smart campaign¿s results tab, program¿s member's tab, or Lead Details page)

Recommendations to other buyers: - Get Sales involved in the lead scoring process so you can collaborate on what constitutes the warmest leads to send to them. - Set aside adequate time for the implementation. Be prepared to spend several hours a day learning the solution. There is a steep learning curve with Marketo, but that is because it is unlike other solutions.

Comments: I've had a good experience with Marketo over the past 5 years. They continue to improve and grow their product and it has been flexible enough as a platform for our organizational needs.

Pros: Very powerful platform that can be expanded with robust integrations

Cons: Some of the role out of the new functionality has been challenging for us in terms of what we expected and what was delivered.

Recommendations to other buyers: You need dedicated staff that truly understand the ins and outs of the platform to have the most success. It's easier to train a few people on how to use it than to try to roll it out to a full department.

Comments: Our team has been using Marketo, since before I stepped into my current role 3 years ago. While there was a steep learning curve at first, the capabilities are endless, the reporting seamless, and there is always a way to get answers whether through their great support team or the vast community of users they have built. The integrations with other MarTech vendors like Vidyard and PFL have allowed us to be creative with campaigns while tying all interactions together for a holistic view of each lead on their customer journey. Our marketing team seems to be getting leaner by the day, but Marketo has kept our agile and adaptable while keeping our work measurable and meaningful to our overall organization... and that has made all the difference.

Pros: Easy integrations with launch point. Helpful content-rich community structure.

Cons: Steep learning curve. RTP still seems very primitive in code capacity.

Recommendations to other buyers: Marketo is a significant investment. Get the most value from the tool by utilizing all they offer and integrating your martech stack throughout.

Comments: As someone who works in sales operations, I was always intrigued with what happens to a lead outside of the normal sales cycle. I was able to get approval for training for Marketo and with my knowledge in Salesforce (admin certified), bridging the gap between both systems have been a game changer for our organization. I have really been able to take advantage of how a lead is marketed and nurtured to, so that when the lead is ready to engage with sales, they are a bit more qualified, making sales conversations easier and faster. We've implemented lead scoring, different nurture programs, drip campaigns, automated lead routing based on assigned quota, properly tagged leads based on what channel they've come from...I could go on and on. I love Marketo and I love what it can do alongside Salesforce.

Pros: The Marketo widget in Salesforce is great. It lets a seller know exactly what pages they visited on your website, which emails they opened, what they've downloaded, including dates and timestamps. This REALLY helps a seller prepare for an initial call and sets them up for success. Marketo's integration with Salesforce is great and because I was already Salesforce certified, it was pretty easy for me to learn Marketo.

Cons: It can be a bit slow to do some stuff in Marketo, it's not as fast as Salesforce.

Comments: Marketo is a very powerful content marketing tool, and this can help publishers solve their content consumption question. If you need to know who in your subscription file is ready, engaging with what specific types of content, when, then Marketo can help you answer these questions. When moving to Marketo as a publisher, within the first year we were able to see our whitepaper, ebook, webcast, and site traffic increase significantly, and continue to grow into year two of the investment. It is a really powerful tool and connects to some amazing partnering technologies that can only improve your audience development and content amplification efforts.

Comments: Measuring movement and success through specific programs is very helpful. On a very basic level, looking at acquisition program and a lead source is very helpful. We have been able to develop much better reporting for our executives and show them ROI from the Marketing team. From an operational standpoint, the organization is so much better than it has been in the past. It's easy to know where to pull data from and things can get done much quicker with templates.

Pros: Everything can be organized the way that works for our team. There are very few limits to the way we can set up programs and we are able to customize fields, analytics, etc to tell us whatever it is we need to know. We've used other systems (like HubSpot) and they are not nearly as flexible. I also LOVE the Marketo Community. We've learned a lot from our peers in different discussions.

Cons: Sometimes there are too many options and not enough guidance on best practices. Marketo has documentation on different products, but they don't tell me WHY I might want to use a specific feature, just how I would go about doing so.

Recommendations to other buyers: Utilize Community and Marketo Product Docs. Don't stop asking questions as there are always other people who are either struggling with the same challenges or have a solution for your challenge. Also, take the time to mess around and learn the product. It does take time, but you will greatly benefit from playing around with the different program types, naming conventions, workflows, etc.

Comments: I've used it for about 4 years now and counting. I have tried several other automation platforms but nothing compares in terms of the functionality Marketo provides.

Pros: -Modular templates -Segmentation functionality -Using tokens to switch content out easily -Ease of use once you get the hang of it -History that allows you to feel 'safe' -Data is available and doesn't disappear

Cons: -Glitches -Bandaids -Bad support

Recommendations to other buyers: Get an implementation partner and consultant/vendor since Marketo support is pretty much useless for information that you cannot find on the web itself.

Comments: I've used Marketo both as a brand side manager and as a consultant on the agency side. It is incredibly powerful and can be used in almost any business environment. From traditional b2b to education to publishing. It can be the central part of any martech stack if leveraged appropriately with enough supporting knowledge. No other MA platform will match the SFDC integration (yes, including SFMC) which makes it a no-brainer for any SFDC customer truly investing in MA. The partner community is vast with integrations to do almost anything you need. And, of course, the marketing piece is insanely customizable to the customer journey.

Pros: - the flexibility - the powerful - integrations - reporting capabilities

Cons: - speed - complexity (also a major pro) - time to train

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you have a knowledgeable team led by an MCC (not MCE, and actual consultant) or hire an agency to do your implementation. Don't hire Marketo Professional Services, their approach is too cookie cutter. Get connected with one of their implementation partners (LeadMD, Fathom Marketing, or Elixiter).

Comments: I've used Marketo and the other two large marketing automation tools over the last 7 years. All the platforms are valuable, but where Marketo really stands above the rest is in its rich feature sets and ease-of-use. It also has a fabulous user community, the best that I've seen of any software solution. The very active and helpful user community even rivals that of Salesforce CRM, and S CRM has a LOT more users in their community. I do a fair amount of side consulting, and whenever I'm making recommendations for marketing automation software I first recommend Marketo.

Pros: 1. Super feature rich. 2. Very scalable - I can clone and launch new programs, webinars, nurturing drip campaigns, etc. very quickly. 3. Best user community around.

Cons: While the user community is an excellent resource for finding solutions to problems you may run into, I don't feel like their support is as fabulous as the rest of the solution. While support is good, it's not amazing - and amazing is something I've come to expect from Marketo.

Recommendations to other buyers: Shop around and find the solution that best fits your needs, but also don't be swayed into getting a really cheap solution, because you get what you pay for and it won't be able to scale up with your company's growth. Marketo can. At my current employer, we were using one of the other leading marketing automation solutions and had to upgrade to Marketo. Implementing Marketo is not bad, but it still requires a fair amount of setup and work, so I'd recommend going with the right solution the first time.

Comments: I have been using Marketo since 2012. Every release, Marketo has provided more functionality that adds more value to their offering, but what makes Marketo the best solution out there, is its support and community. The solution is backed with Marketo employees and great marketers who are there to help and enable each other to do great things.

Pros: Marketo Community is the best part of Marketo. The tool offers a lot of capabilities from Revenue Modeling, lead scoring to ABM. Again what makes Marketo stand against other competitors is its support and community. They are not only a tool, but a partner.

Cons: I would love to see more reporting around APIs used with Marketo.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get into the game. Start small and dont try to do it all at once. Basicly don't get intimidated with all the functionality. There is a community to help you in each step.

Comments: Marketo has definitely been a great value add to our company. The Lead Nurturing and Lead Scoring are definitely its strong suites. Its integration with Salesforce is also very robust. The Sales reps enjoy the Hot Lead functionality that it provides. It handles the volumes pretty well. We have Marketo forms on our website and they integrate into Marketo. We really get good quality leads back into Salesforce which is then taken over by our Sales teams to follow up. Their customer service is good and reliable.

Comments: Our company has seen good value after implementing Marketo. It is a complex tool, and I recommend getting specialists in early on. It really does the lead scoring part very well. Its integrations with Salesforce is robust. The Sales reps can easily see which leads are Hot and which are not. We do most of our reporting within Salesforce from the data that is pumped into by Marketo. Marketo can also connect with our website, enhance leads and then when required information is available, then only push those leads into Saleforce

Pros: Lead Scoring Handles high volumes well Good integration with Salesforce and other platforms

Cons: Sometimes it is not very intuitive

Cons: Lack of trigger logic

Overall: I work with Marketo for most of my day. Recently, I have run into a few Marketo quirks that have made my job more difficult. One is that all triggers are used as "OR" instead of "AND". The other issue I have is the smart list and flow steps being on different servers, which has caused a major issue for me.

Comments: Overall, Marketo is likely the benchmark in marketing automation technology. The software itself is fully featured and almost limitless in its potential. Where other competitive packages may promise the functionality of what Marketo offers, they often fail to truly deliver. On the flip side, one of Marketo's best benefits (its seemingly limitless potential), can also be overwhelming for more novice marketing users, making it a challenge to implement at scale. Looking back, our organization was not at a place where implementing a marketing automation solution at the enterprise level was set up to be successful and, in hindsight, I would have appreciated the folks at Marketo recognizing this and advising a different course of action. Of course, this is not an indictment of the Marketo platform itself and for companies with a detailed plan and roadmap for long-term success will be thrilled with what Marketo has to offer.

Pros: Engagement program works well. Getting a simple engagement program up and running isn't difficult. Cloning programs so that you don't have to rebuild another one is great. Marketo community is very supportive.

Cons: Building landing pages. Having to pay a lot more money to add additional functionality that is built into other platforms. Basic reporting isn't all that great.

Overall: The engagement program of the tool is great to work with. It moves potential customers through the funnel really well. But, Marketo tries to gouge you for advanced reporting, etc. The basic reporting is ok, but won't tell you all that much if you want to dig deeper. Therefore, you have to buy more. Also the documentation isn't that great and I have to find other sources to help accomplish things inside Marketo. Building landing pages isn't very intuitive either.

Comments: Marketo is really easy to use, has great customer support, and works well overall. There is a learning curve when it comes to understanding how to set up Trigger campaigns, and occasionally updating the email creative can be challenging as Marketo has set rules. Once you learn Marketo though, it's quite easy to use!

Pros: - Excellent customer support

Cons: - Steep learning curve

Recommendations to other buyers: Consider others, but get a consultation and talk to someone.

Cons: There are too many steps involved sometimes to a simple process.

Pros: Super flexible in what you can accomplish

Cons: Clunky, un-intuitive

Overall: I used Marketo as a lead generation manager at the first startup (15 person company) I worked at. I was the primary tool evaluator, and chose it over Pardot and Hubspot, because our focus was on outbound emailing (Hubspot is not) and we needed a high level of customizability/flexibility (2 years ago I found that Pardot was not flexible enough). Marketo has its own language and way of doing things. It really required a full training to get up and running, but once I did that I found it straightforward to use. The interface is clunky and not beautiful, but the functionality is really high. The highest risk with using Marketo is not keeping careful track of potentially conflicting programs. Staying organized and consistent is REALLY important. Overall, I like it and everything it could do, but similar to other "older" SaaS tools, I really wish they would overhaul their interface/UX to make it more streamlined and modern.

Comments: Marketo can handle all our B2B needs with some caveats. It has a great integration with SFDC and its pretty straight forward to implement lead scoring, forms on our website, building campaigns/programs.

However - the UI is clunky (could really do with a re-design), their support team is knowledgeable but we can't call in and we need to outsource custom scripting to send more granular and dynamic emails.

Comments: Our IT personas are the most finicky to earn trust and credibility. We have to be mindful of fluffy marketing B.S. This platform has proven to be a viable source of referral traffic and qualified leads.

If you're looking to reach a wider audience and get invaluable data on your personas, it's worth the investment (especially over Paid Search).

Pros: Robust

Cons: Price

Overall: Marketo is a very solid solution for automating your marketing mix, roadmaping your consumer solutions funnel, and grooming your leads for conversion. It fully integrates with a wide majority of CRM systems and back office ERPs so that you can clearly analyze your ROI per point of sale.

This is a professional marketing automation solution that can help deliver exceptional campaigns for your organization to sell into. The solution has a ton of fuctionality and can hook into just about anything.

The downside of this solution that I don't feel that it is its probably more of an "enterprise" solution versus a "start up solution". Sure start ups could use it, but it may be a little too robust if people don't know what they are doing.

Overall its great and has a ton of features and their team is solid. The problem I have with it is the overall cost of entry. Its a little pricy, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Recommendations to other buyers: Know what you are doing before you purchase this.

Pros: Easier to use than Eloqua and more robust than Pardot and Hubspot. Unless you value SFDC nativity (Pardot) or tons of features over usability (Eloqua), then Marketo is most likely going to be the right tool for your business.

I've come across very few problems I couldn't handle.

It also has a top class sync with SFDC.

Cons: It gets overloaded with data fairly easily so our programs, campaigns, data cleanup, and syncs will stall greatly if we're not careful.

You also have to be mindful of how you set up heavy smart lists or campaigns as they could take a while to load. This is also true of analytics. Analytics is not the best.

Overall: Marketo has been great for our organization. Our business model is one where we get ~100k leads/yr, many of which are people downloading for free one of our many open source data management products. This amount of data necessitates that we have a top notch marketing automation tool at our disposal to do everything we need to with regard to emailing, scoring, lead lifecycle, segmentation, etc.

Pros: The actual automation is powerful and some of the tools are insightful.

Cons: Landing page editor. Would like more details on the reporting.

Overall: Marketo is an ok platform. It provides pretty good automation. Although, it does not provide a graphical automation layout like it's competitors. You put the automation together in smart campaigns, etc. The landing page editor is not that great and sometimes gets frustrating when you want to add an image and you have to back out to upload it. The recent update for the email editor is much better than before. Also, the canned reports are somewhat limiting when you try to get more detailed data on things like web page views, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look around and if Marketo suits your needs, then go for it.

Comments: I've used Marketo for almost 4 years now and seen it grow and added some great features for some of the "non-technical marketers" so to reduce the need for IT. Whenever I had a question or issue, a great place to start is the Marketo Community and if I still can't find the answer, Marketo support is fast and pleasant.

Pros: The functionality is easy to understand because of the many years of use and being Marketo certified. Marketo community and support is a great resource.

Cons: I've seen nurture tracks such as Pardot's that look better and seem easier to understand. Marketo's nurture operates in programs and flows but hard to follow and test. I usually would need to run it by Marketo support before launching a nurture track just to make sure it's working. If your contract is up, they will disappear or wait until the very last minute to pressure you into renewal. They also say they won't shut off service without notice, but they will - probably another tactic to get you to renew your contract, especially when all your forms and leaf pages disappear since they all live in Marketo.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great product for enterprise. Be careful when it's time to renew your contract.
