### "Email marketing with benefits"

Pros

It simplified our email marketing campaign and provided advanced options for landing pages which simplified my processes.

Cons

There are still some features I am getting used to, when we first evaluated the product it seemed we could roll up a few different softwares into Marketo. So far we have only been able to roll up 2 or them but working on the third.

Pros

Extremely robust tool - you can do some incredible things with Marketo. Easy to scale things for the long term.

Cons

Sometimes overly complex. There is also the occasional error that will mess up things like tokens and other settings.

Pros

Very easy to use interface and very flexible and easy to scale whether you have a small or a large business to support. Lots of help available from Marketo and also via their extensive community section. I've made lots of friends and learnt lots of things from other users - even competitors.

Cons

Some area's need improvement including Reporting and Analytics but you can get the information you need with a bit of digging.

My overall experience with Marketo has been good and it does good enough to get the job done.

Pros

The things that I like most about Marketo is that it makes it easy to assign leads to sales reps and creates a good handoff process.

Cons

The things I like least about Marketo are that it is hard to do things in a mass blast and sometimes it gets complicated with multiple nurture streams.

This is not a tool you should implement when you have a small team. Instead use the software when you have a bigger team and can invest in time and money to make the tool work for you. If your company is big enough and you can allocate the rescourses then Marketo is really a powerfull tool.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that it provides an overview of a contact and that you can make many differrent workflows. Out-of-the-box you have lots of tools and controlls at your disposal

Cons

The software is not very easy to use, you need to setup lots of things. You must not underestimate the time, energy and money you need for the tool to work. When compairing to Mailchimp they have lots of stuf ready to use, with Marketo you need to setup this on your own. This gives flexibility and power to the user, but its also time consuming.

Marketo is a tool I use for filtering existing leads and managing new leads. It is very useful for keeping track of useful information and eliminating duplicate leads

Cons

Marketo is tricky to get going with, learning how to build you reports can be time consuming, make sure to save them once you get it right.

Great way to reach a wide audience and integration with Salesforce to make the process easy!

Pros

I love the options for configuring campaigns and communications! It always looked like it was coming from me but allowed me to reach so many customers at once. I was able to use information we had stored in Salesforce about the customers and their purchase to dictate what communications they received.

Cons

It was a bit tricky to learn at first, but I think this is just because it is so flexible. I also had a couple experiences where signatures were weirdly replaced with alpha-numeric strings, which kind of blew our cover on making the emails look like they were sent by a human.

Marketo might be a very powerful software once installed and running, but if you plan on using Marketo without Marketo Landing Pages then you better have someone experienced in Web Development on call, because chances are you are going to need them. Depending on your ability to edit JavaScript and your understanding of the hierarchy of your site and the site structure, you might be able to accomplish this without any assistance. Unfortunately Marketo Support is not very helpful in this types of situations, since they do not Support people using Marketo Forms on non Marketo pages (probably something that should be better explained during the Sales process); and they will suggest hiring a Web Developer (which is the most frustrating) or looking at the User Community. The User Community is great if the problem you have is something someone else has experienced, and they decided to post their experience within the User Community. I am sure over time having a User Community will actually be a strength of Marketo, but can you imagine the early days when there was no other posts? In a few years, I see the User Community being a great asset and something very helpful to users - especially younger ones who are accustomed to receiving immediate answers to their questions by simply clicking Search or Submit. Honestly, if I do not have to call support I never would. Finding an answer online is great because you not only find what your looking for but hopefully people have also posted in comments their individual experiences/road blocks/challenges/etc. Time will tell.

Pros

Easy to use UI Salesforce integration is really amazing. Pre-loaded templates for follow ups is really helpful.

Cons

Reporting options are limited. This can be improved a bit.

Marketo is one of the most powerful marketing automation platforms out there. You can handle every marketing activity that you need within the application. From creating custom landing pages, to automating campaigns/emails and more.

Cons

This software is very complex to setup without a wizard to help you set it up. As a result, you will likely need to find partner or professional service engagement (from Marketo) to get this up and running.

Pros

Beautiful user interface that takes training out of the equation. Everything is where it needs to be and navigation is made simple through the fluid user experience. Building reports and account profiles is simple and fast. Account prioritization is a key feature for us.

Cons

Some of the AI data seems rudimentary at best. This is a limitation due to data collection but there needs to be a large push in this space before it's easily actionable.

I've used Marketo for almost 4 years now and seen it grow and added some great features for some of the "non-technical marketers" so to reduce the need for IT. Whenever I had a question or issue, a great place to start is the Marketo Community and if I still can't find the answer, Marketo support is fast and pleasant.

Pros

The functionality is easy to understand because of the many years of use and being Marketo certified. Marketo community and support is a great resource.

Cons

I've seen nurture tracks such as Pardot's that look better and seem easier to understand. Marketo's nurture operates in programs and flows but hard to follow and test. I usually would need to run it by Marketo support before launching a nurture track just to make sure it's working. If your contract is up, they will disappear or wait until the very last minute to pressure you into renewal. They also say they won't shut off service without notice, but they will - probably another tactic to get you to renew your contract, especially when all your forms and leaf pages disappear since they all live in Marketo.

We used Marketo ReST API for lead management and for campaigns. As there are a lot of online documents available and with sample code it was a good experience working with Marketo. It is really a great tool for marketing campaigns.

Pros

With Marketo we are able to segment and manage customers or prospects information to a very fine detailed level. It provides a lot of fields for storing customer data as well as able to add custom fields.

Cons

Its a bit slow as it takes time to show the customer details in Marketo lead database.

Pros

I've used multiple marketing automation platforms and they all have their pros and cons. What I love about Marketo is how easy it is to use and navigate through different campaigns. You can edit an email, create a campaign, or pull a report all in one place instead of navigating through separate sections of the platform, making it a seamless, easy-to-use solution! Once you learn the language and terms like "smart list", you can easily navigate through the fields with no problem.

Cons

It is simple to use but one thing I miss is having a flow chart/diagram drawn out with all of the different steps of a campaign. This is especially helpful when you have to create nurture emails and the streams can be quite complicated, so having things drawn out help with the building process.

I've used Pardot, Hubspot and Marketo - it's by far my top of the three.

Pros

Scalability, flexibility. Unlike many other platforms, Marketo truly can scale at a high pace when built out well. And if you're a confident user, it doesn't hide the complicated features behind a wall of impossible to breach "user friendly" interface - you can get into the weeds and play around and really customise things.

Cons

It's not the simplest, and can be quite tricky for newer/more novice users. But this can be overcome quickly with training.
