Pros

Content Creation (emails, landing pages, and campaigns) Integrating with Salesforce Measurable ROI for campaign spend. Challenger/champion setup of lead nurture—allows for improved results over time as opposed to ad-hoc email campaigns.

Cons

We have a saying in the office: "There are no shortcuts in Marketo." While the interface is usable, it still has a ways to go before being the most user-friendly and intuitive software. There is a definite learning curve as well—not unexpected, but it definitely takes some time.

Pros

Marketo is a very complete suite for Marketing automation, lead management, etc. They integrate all the functions to create and manage marketing campaigns via SaaS. Their documentation database is very complete so it is very easy to find responses to the issues. In addition, the Marketo community is very active, having many events, user groups and posting regularly on the forum.

Cons

The education portal is not currently at the level of the software. Being a SaaS product, it bugs often and needs to refresh.

Pros

Marketo's intuitive nature makes it stand apart from the rest. I'm able to accomplish everything I need to quickly and easily, and when I have a question, I can always get it answered in the community or by picking up the phone and calling tech therapy. The seamless integration between Marketo and Salesforce has been instrumental in proving the ROI on our efforts. I can always count on the software to perform and am always impressed by its robust feature set. It's almost like having an extra body in the department!

Cons

I've noticed a few bugs with the launch of the new user interface, but they've been minimal and haven't gotten in the way of my work.

Pros

They have great customer support and account representatives that help with the onboarding process. As for product feature, their Engagement Stream programs and Smart Lists for generating audiences for campaigns are absolutely fantastic, and above all, very user-friendly.

Cons

As with most MAPs, once the basics are mastered, the learning curve increases quite significantly. They have extensive documentation to aid in educating yourself, but not all features available are necessarily known upfront.

It's the best platform there is for taking content and making it easily available for consumption... while also enhancing lead generation efforts through gating. Great insight into how leads and contacts are interacting with us online, too!

Cons

They tend to oversell what some of their solutions can do. They're getting better about this, though.

I was pleased that it could integrate with salesforce. This software equips you to be effective and efficient in managing and converting leads. Great experience!

Cons

Price is higher than most others. Be prepared for a higher learning curve while implementing. Sometimes I find it challenging to get the right template and required to use HTML.

Pros

It helps marketing customers make better use of their marketing campaigns while helping sales team focus on better leads.

Cons

It can be cumbersome for those outside of marketing ops to manage. Often sales have a hard time getting insight on the data.

Pros

Marketo is a friendly company with a great product. Their roadmap is responsive to client needs and requests. They have also built a strong community that is very helpful to newcomers. The tool itself is a rules engine with a strong nurturing system and a lot of great actions and lead management options. You can make it do whatever your business needs dictated. The setup is basic and very easy.

Cons

The setup is easy, but there is a lot of work to develop the rules that manage lead flow. It's not hard, but this needs to be planned out. Social integrations are lagging. Basic reports are not very helpful for understanding the funnel.

Overall, Marketo can get the job done and is built for B2B but there is better software if you're looking for more than just MA

Pros

It has a great integration with SFDC and its pretty straight forward to implement lead scoring, forms on our website, building campaigns/programs.

Cons

The UI is clunky (could really do with a re-design), their support team is knowledgeable but we can't call in and we need to outsource custom scripting to send more granular and dynamic emails.

It can move very slowly and freeze occasionally, which always seems to happen at the worst times.

Cons

This is expensive. Plus, some areas are not that intuitive. That said, I still think it's the best option.

Cons

I don’t love the user experience. It was not very user friendly or intuitive (in my opinion). Seems a bit clunky and I do prefer other platforms.

Pros

This was a great step up for our Enterprise company to get a better view on our entire customer journey and have hard data to review. No delays with emails deploying regardless of the size of our list (this was a big issue with our previous system).

Cons

Not great Dynamics integration. Everything is set up to work with salesforce.com easily, but Dynamics integrations have required time with our IT dept. to use API calls to push data over.

Marketo is generally GEM in managing contacts and communication, managing leads and prospect and tracking growth. Awesome community support is the major thing I can say marketo has going for it

Cons

Not easy to learn- so cumbersome the email builder needs to be further simplified by integrating real and simple drag and drop. marketo is expensive and not designed for small businesses. Doesn't offer free trial so small businesses ng a feel of the product prospective users can't get a feel of what they want to put their money on before investing in it
