Marketo is a great assistant for brand personification, digital advertising, marketing analysis, and account-based marketing. With this service, you can simplify greatly your working process and adjust the necessary features for brand positioning.

Pros

Marketo is a very useful and effective marketing tool. Here you can plan and create new projects, make new prospects for clients, search for trends and content. People who are directly connected with marketing can find here everything for communication with customers. What is more, it rather functional and simple in usage. It is easy to navigate for both beginners and advanced users.

Cons

Unfortunately, Marketo has some minuses. We are convinced that the landing page should be improved. The last update has a great influence on its utility, but it still doesn’t work properly. Moreover, there is room for improvement of search option.

Pros

I have used Marketo for the past 7 years and I have always found it flexible enough to do what I needed it to. It has strong integrations with most leading marketing apps and is pretty easy to use. For simple marketing automation tasks (lead scoring, lead routing, nurture sequences, etc.) it's worked great.

Cons

Because the tool is pretty flexible, sometimes there are almost too many ways to configure and set-up programs. The email/landing page tool is starting to feel a bit dated and at times it can be a bit slow to search/query.

Marketo is by far the best MA tool on the market. I have used many. If you are looking at bringing an MA platform in house, do yourself a favor and go with Marketo.

Pros

I have been in the MA space for over 5 years. This is the BEST tool on the market. The best thing about is its relative ease of use. Yes, mastering it and making the most of it takes time. But the bottom line is anyone can learn Marketo, and all it takes is time. Other tools require technical knowledge outside of the platform (such as coding, scripting, SQL). But to use Marketo, you don't need any outside technical skill -- just a commitment to learning Marketo. It has an incredible user-friendly interface, integrates easily with other tools, and really adds to internal marketing's tool set.

Many functionalities, can grow with your company, great customer success response times.

Pros

I like all of the functionalities that marketo as a whole has built in. Its great for mid-large sized companies looking to use a great marketing automation tool. It may be a bit too expensive for smaller companies to use, but if a smaller company has the funds, then it may be better to start with Marketo

Cons

It can be complicated and hard to learn. You usually have to hire a marketo admin when implementing marketo, which can be an added cost with headcount

Lead generation, ability to track the open and bounce rate for email campaigns, ease of use and sharing capabilities.

Pros

It's relatively easy to use in a step by step process. You can track good analytics off the back of an email campaign as to whether it was successful or not. You can also send out drip campaigns off the back of lead generation. Sending out content to clients is also relatively easy using Marketo

Cons

Customer support is not that great. We've had a few outages from Marketo in the last few months when an email or content campaign has gone out via Marketo but the system was down so clients and prospects were unable to register or download collateral.

Pretty good tool for marketing automation, which helps you save time if you have a lot of other marketing tasks to perform.

Pros

Easy way to capture web form data with an easy-to-build interface. Also, Marketo integrates easily with most other marketing platforms since it is a bigger name in the industry.

Cons

Marketo's user interface for some areas is not very intuitive and will require some Googling and using customer support to find out how to do certain, very obvious tasks.

Pros

When we started using Marketo for our Marketing Automation, there was an increase of opportunities with our leads. We were able to trim down and focus on the right market and were able to convert leads to sales by 10% on the first month we used Marketo. It is easy to use and templates are good. We receive daily update and marketing news on the latest trend and tools for marketing. Digital marketing is new and Marketo is complete with the right tools and guide on how to effectively tap your market and generate leads through social media.

Cons

Everything in Marketo is amazing. They have tips and guides for their products. Though ofcourse the price is costly compared to other email automation or newsletter creation that can be accessed or used at no cost. Free trial would be something i should also recommend for Marketo.

Cons

Some minor UX improvements: Be able to view a subject line without opening the email. Improve Text version editor - Even MailChimp's is superior. Create stronger de-duplication technology native to the platform.

It has a lot of functions and capabilities. It's a powerful tool that allows you to generate leads, follow up with them, create email camplaigns and work on personalization.

Cons

I can't get used to the look and feel of Marketo. It seems VERY complicated and outdated. I don't like the email builder tool that much too because it doesn't allow me to create any email design that I want. One needs know html to be able to do that.

There are literally so many things you can do with Marketo. The functionality as a marketing automation tool is almost endless. We use it for email campaigns and lead routing and could not be happier. I am certain our use will continue to expand.

Cons

There is a lot to learn. That isn't a con necessarily, but it definitely takes some time to figure everything out.

The most important benefit of using Marketo is that we keep all of our users in one place and that helps all of our teammates to work in an organized way and avoid wasting time.

Pros

Marketo has helped our entire team to keep all our subscribers in one place and it's very easy to manage the customer's email preferences just with a click. Marketo is one of the easiest tools we've used to keep track of our distribution centers, and we definitely save a lot of time just by searching a customer's name or email address.

Cons

Marketo is sometimes too slow when downloading a list of subscribers. Since Marketo keeps around 10,000 of our user,s it's acceptable that sometimes it becomes kind of slow.

Cons

Using/Administering Marketo takes an entire team. It is a beast and requires hours of customization to get it's integrations with our CRM just right.

Clone and use personalization templates at the program level is very useful. It's allowed us to develop best practice templates that we use and clone for all of the Marketo programs and campaigns that we build. This has allowed my team to achieve a significant time savings and more efficient. Markteto is the center of all communications to our prospects and customers, it has been a very beneficial platform for our company due to its characteristics.

Pros

I've used Marketo for more than 3 years. Marketo is a powerful tool that gives me the ability to market and track my marketing campaigns in a meaningful and scalable way. The integration with other platforms such as Salesforce and SDL Tridion is out-of-box and very helpful for us. It has a slight learning curve, but the training is pretty decent. The community is very useful and the user groups have been very welcoming.

Cons

The classic user-interface is outdated, and the drag-and-drop function is not good as mentioned. Maybe cause I am in China, so the connection speed is very slow sometimes.

As someone who works in sales operations, I was always intrigued with what happens to a lead outside of the normal sales cycle. I was able to get approval for training for Marketo and with my knowledge in Salesforce (admin certified), bridging the gap between both systems have been a game changer for our organization. I have really been able to take advantage of how a lead is marketed and nurtured to, so that when the lead is ready to engage with sales, they are a bit more qualified, making sales conversations easier and faster. We've implemented lead scoring, different nurture programs, drip campaigns, automated lead routing based on assigned quota, properly tagged leads based on what channel they've come from...I could go on and on. I love Marketo and I love what it can do alongside Salesforce.

Pros

The Marketo widget in Salesforce is great. It lets a seller know exactly what pages they visited on your website, which emails they opened, what they've downloaded, including dates and timestamps. This REALLY helps a seller prepare for an initial call and sets them up for success. Marketo's integration with Salesforce is great and because I was already Salesforce certified, it was pretty easy for me to learn Marketo.

Cons

It can be a bit slow to do some stuff in Marketo, it's not as fast as Salesforce.

Bespoke application bundles that you can purchase for the marketing areas you desire. Very easy and quick integration with Salesforce Extremely scalable Easy to connect to API The smart list builder is quite handy and intuitive

Cons

Initial setup is a beast. It was quite a steep learning curve. SEO dashboards lack far behind other competitors. But then again, why would you use Marketo for SEO anyway?

Saves time on emailing potential leads by setting up multiple flow chart paths that leads can go down, i recommend Marketo for large organisation or sales teams with huge databases of leads that are low percentage in terms of converting.

Pros

Used Marketo as a plugin for Salesforce for our sales and "freemium" service. All potential leads were setup on multiple different email campaigns where we can view stats on whether they have read the emails and clicked or not. We also used Marketo to sign off on contracts by attaching T&Cs to one of the templates and having a button integration where they could signup or request more info. Marketo enables you to basically setup multiple funnel charts for emails, depending on the recipients chooses in what they open and click. Makes contact easy when you have thousands of potential leads to followup with.

Cons

No cons, Marketo is way ahead of the curve and when i started using it a few years ago there was no other competitor that had the same functionality in my point of view.
