Pros: It's simple and I can track all projects. It allows simple Estimates to be accepted by the client. And you can also turn all your billable hours into an invoice in an easy step. Cheap!

Cons: It doesn't allow for direct deposit pay now link, as I dont use Paypal for business. It doesnt offer window-capture tracking if you happen to have a VA, and the price goes up steeply when adding another user.

Overall: I stopped using Word for invoicing and never looked back, as you can send a receipt so easily, you can send out automated payment reminders to annoy those late payers and not bother yourself.

Pros: Harvest is incredibly easy to use, and doesn't try to be more than it is. It is perfect for tracking time (the iPhone app is great, too, as it allows you to start and stop time on the go) and expenses, and conducting billing. It also has a surprisingly great reporting section, which is helpful for understanding your own productivity and opportunities. Harvest is also wonderfully customizable to fit your office's individual needs.

Cons: This is so nitpicky, but that is because Harvest is so great, and has so little to improve upon: I wish there were multiple pre-set messages you can send. The current system allows for a thank you message and a "balance due" message. Our office, like many law firms, I imagine, has two balance due messages: money due for work performed, and money due to maintain a required trust deposit. Currently we have to manually change this. Not at all a deal breaker, but it would be a very welcome update in the future.

Pros: The software provides the ability to carry over time entries from week to week and the ability to make notes on entries to provide time usage explanations. Allows for simple to complex time entry.

Cons: The reporting aspects of the system seem cumbersome to use and require a lot of tweaking to get the right information out.

Comments: Works well and is very easy to use. Best suited for individuals and small teams.

Pros: Harvest is an excellent tool for individuals and/or small organizations that need help with invoicing, expensing, and management needs such as team scheduling. Integrates easily with many other business apps.

Cons: Harvest is only available as a web app version. There are currently no windows supported desktop versions. Can get pricey compared to other solutions available.

Pros: I like that Harvest is available wherever I am, whether it be desktop or mobile, it is accessible. It is easy to add time as well track time live.

Cons: The UI could be a bit more modern, but it doesn't bother me too much. Personally, I would flatten everything and get rid of the gradients but it is a minimal concern.

Pros: Obviously, no one likes logging time either in their daily workload or with specific projects. The main thing you want when it comes to this trivial task is that it is simple, quick, and can tell you a lot from just a little. Harvest does just that and provides a very easy to use platform that makes time tracking more enjoyable than it ought to be!

Cons: Somewhat limited functionality in regards to reporting and could use more dashboard customization. Overall, the program provides just enough; however, there could definitely be more attention paid to updates and increased visibility.

Pros: It¿s incredibly intuitive and easy to understand. I was able to pick it up and customize it in a few minutes for my own freelancing, and have a few bookkeeping clients that use it for employee time tracking and invoicing. The invoices sync nicely to QuickBooks Online and look good when you send them to customers. The time tracking is decently intuitive and easy to set up.

Cons: We wanted to use Harvest at my firm, but the time tracking doesn¿t sync the way we need it to with our firm¿s idiosyncrasies. We were able to set up TSheets the way we needed to, which is not really a knock on Harvest; Harvest¿s biggest selling point is how easy it is to use out of the box. That means it¿s a little less flexible and customizable than other things, but honestly I think most people would find it worth the money.

Harvest mad time-tracking for our team so much easier no matter where you were.

Pros: I like the ease of this application and that it includes a phone application. The site is easy to pull up instant personal and other employee reports too.

Cons: I wish the analytics went deeper to create more customized reports for individuals and teams. We have to pull team analytics manually to regularly check how billable we are. If we could do more from the phone app that would be more convenient as well.

Pros: Very easy to use Harvest for time entry, expenses and invoicing. Mobile app is very useful to upload travel expenses and time entry.

Pros: Users love that they can track their time from anywhere. This is a huge step up from the local legacy system. Time tracking is easy to enter, which is nice because logging time is generally the last thing you want to do.

Cons: It would be nice if you could manage the approval process for certain teams. For instance certain employee timesheets should go to the department manager, not the project manager.

Pros: Super easy to use, not trying to complicate it with too many bells and whistles. Love how it easily translates to invoicing too.

Cons: Few drawbacks. My only issues are how it integrates with Forecast (their other tool). Doesn't seem to offer much sharable data outside of the team members + project names.

Overall: Projects stay (mostly) on budget and invoices get tracked and paid through one easy to use system.

Pros: I like that this software is extremely user friendly. You only have to train someone one time for them to understand entering time correctly.

Cons: I sometimes have trouble reading budget bars. It seems odd that the overbudget projects red bar seems to eat back over the original budget. Visually, I think it makes sense to have the budget used up and then have the red extend past the budget bar indicating you are over budget instead of coming back and eating the blue bar up.

Overall: Easy time tracking and project budget visuals. This software integrates with our task list making tracking a breeze.

Pros: Love that it has an integration with Asana, makes it easy to track time, and when looking back at reports we can see where time was being spent, and how much it cost. In Asana, you can add time right to a task, and then it will appear in Harvest where you can see your total time for the week/month/year, and make changes if necessary.

Cons: If you need to clock time that isn't part of a task it's hard to just create something and add time. (This might be on the company's settings as well) Otherwise a great product, and will definitely continue to use.

Overall: Track time in an organized, and truster manner.

Pros: I use this tool every day to track my time when I'm doing anything for a client. The browser extension makes it quick and easy to select the project and record the hours against it. When you log in you can see how much time you've spent that week / month and download reports for the client if required. The whole team uses this and it's been really easy to get everyone set up and using it.

Cons: If you make a mistake when logging time using the extension you need to log into the interface and correct it - which can be time-consuming. It's also very easy to forget to turn the timer off so you can easily log extra time. However, they do send you an email notification to remind you about this so it's relatively easy to correct.

Pros: So overall I'm not a fan. That said, documenting expenses is the best I've ever seen in Harvest. It's really well done and simple. Nice and clean, get your photos, get your monies and go. Big fan.

That is where my love affair ends with this app.

From an administrative point, maybe there are incredible advantages over other offerings. The world may have never experienced such a revolutionary piece of software and I, in turn, am a simpleton; stuck in a world of misunderstanding.

Cons: If you write a app which tracks hourly time and tries to put it into buckets for easy expensing, the time-tracking app should be simple for the multitude of non-admin users. Simply put, it's cumbersome and annoying.... and I say that because someone is going to take stronger language less seriously.

Forget the fact that you have to enter in time _Daily_. When I say daily, I don't mean that you click on the day, you do the thing and save. I mean that it shows you one day per page at a time. No calendar to quickly go through a week, no monthly review where you can quickly fill in gaps. One page == one day. You can bring stuff over from the last-entered day, but the hours aren't filled in... just the buckets. This leads to an incredibly slow, painful, and frankly uninteresting experience. For a bunch of users who want to do their job instead of fiddling around with tracking how long they've done their job, asking them to use Harvest is basically asking them to make none of their time billable unless threatened with homelessness. It's incredibly painful to use.

To be sure, I'm not a fan of time-tracking apps anyway. I akin them to asking your employees to lie to you and giving them a form in which to do it... but Harvest makes the fun of lying to your employer the low-light of your day. It's not fair.

Overall: I personally get no benefits from this software. I'm not a fan.

Pros: Harvest tracks time. No more, no less. That's a beauty of it. Name your task and click start. It's that easy. You can quickly edit you task title and adjust your time. I also think the reports are helpful. It's nice to see where you've spent most of your time. I've tried a few competitors and they just try too hard. It took so long to start tracking that I needed a separate tracker just for my time tracker! Harvest integrates with a lot of project management softwares as well.

Cons: I don't particularly care for the expenses portion. But that's just because I don't often request expenses. I can't really speak to it's functionality.

Overall: No fuss, just simple time tracking. It makes me more productive.

Pros: I've used Harvest for years and I can't imagine switching to another tool. It's by far the easiest, best tool for agencies who work on multiple projects with multiple budgets. Being able to visualise your margins and where your team is spending their time is an absolute game changer. The invoices are attractive and always send reliable. The integrated payment options are intuitive and simple.

Cons: It's a bit more expensive than other tools but if you're using its full functionality it's absolutely worth it.

I'd like to see more flexibility around budgeting and retainers. It has definitely gotten better with new support for fixed-fee budgets, but I would really like to see recurring retainers handled better. We currently create a new project every month for our clients on retainer, which works but is a little tedious.

Overall: It made visualising our project budgets and margins dramatically easier, so we know where our time and money are going.

Pros: Harvest is part of my daily life. I live by Harvest for keeping track of my hours and projects that I work on. I add my expenses so easily with the app on my phone. I don't know how they could make it any easier to keep track of all of my work. It also keeps track of all my vacation days, sick days, and paid time off.

Cons: I wish there was a way to keep monthly expenses repeating every month rather than having to enter them every month.

Pros: One of the things I¿ve discovered from doing freelance work is that I was highly underestimating the time it actually took me to do things. Whether it¿s something you¿ve done before, or a brand new project, managing your time can be tricky¿especially when working from home. Harvest allows you to track your time per project and per task. This can be incredibly helpful when you¿re doing a few different tasks within the same project or for the same client. Not only will this tool help you better track your time, it will also keep you more organized. It even allows you to create invoices directly in the app.

Cons: You can only track one task at a time, so for those who like to have multiple timers going, this may not be the best tool for you.

Pros: I can easily clock my hours and expenses for each task I'm working on. This allows me to also better manage my time and keep track of how many hours I'm spending on each client/project.

Cons: While this easily tracks my hours and expenses, I still have to use another software to create and assign tasks and then integrate it with Harvest.

Pros: The reporting visuals and dashboard are fantastic, letting you dig deep down into reviewing time tracking metrics for your team; also easy to track time according to your preference (on the fly or retrospectively).

Cons: We integrate Harvest with Trello and the way it brings in default categories/projects and tasks is frustrating (it's very easy to track time to the wrong project). Also many of our team members have struggled with getting the app to work properly (I couldn't). Finally, while Harvest is a good time tracking tool, it's not worth the price point, at the agency level anyway.

Pros: Harvest keeps me on time, on budget, profitable, and professional. I could not run my business without it. The price is very reasonable (I hope it stays that way!) and the support team is always fantastic. It's the one tool I use that just never has problems. With other tools and services, I lose time dealing with bugs and UI failures. But I have come to trust and rely on Harvest. And that's why I recommend it to anyone who asks.

Cons: At one time I tried to use the Mac time tracking app. I ran into synchronization issues between the 4 computers that I use regularly. I don't hold that against Harvest, and maybe it's been fixed by now. But I'm really happy with the web interface, so that's adequate for me.

Pros: Harvest is easy to use on any platform, and has direct integrations into just about any other productivity tool you can think of. I love the Team visibility and reporting. Invoicing is super easy as well.

Cons: I wish Harvest made it easier to switch between multiple accounts (for example, business and personal) where different email addresses are used.

Pros: It does what it does and it does it best! Time tracking on projects has never been so easy for our organisation. We have used multiple time trackers, but were never pleased with the wat we neede to register the hours we make for our clients. The mac, windows and iOS/Android apps work great. New projects are available instantly and starting / pausing the time tracker is wonderfully done. Managing the projects, budgets and tasks is really easy and if you like, you can integrate it with Harvest Forecast and plan your team ahead.

Cons: Harvest lacks decent support of monthly retainer 'projects'. It's not a show stopper for us, but it makes us do manual checks of the hours we make for our clients. I would love Harvest Forecast to be part of Harvest by default instead of the invoicing functionalities, since we use other software for that.

Overall: With Harvest we track more hours than we did with other software. It takes the hassle out of the process. Nobody likes to track his of her hours in complicated and time consuming ways and Harvest solves that problem!

Pros: This integrates with the project management system Asana, and you can start your timer within the project that you are working on.

Cons: The one con I have about this product is that sometimes it has glitches and will link in the wrong task to the timer you have been working on.

Pros: The desktop app is really useful for tracking time as activities are being completed. The interface is small and doesn't interfere with the workflow. It is flexible so that team members who prefer to use the full browser version are able to do that.

Cons: It would be a nice feature to be able to add certain activities to the time sheet for every day, instead of entering the repeat activities manually.

Comments: As a LIS it is a good system, truthfully the customer service team is the weak link. The more advanced IT help seem to be a lot more knowledgeable with the product.

Pros: Customizable for your practice, they have many good abilities for many reports, and the QC part is very good.

Cons: Customer service are not very knowledgeable, they have to take over your computer hours at times and end up with no resolve.

Pros: (1) User experience is exceptional. Tracking time within projects is extremely intuitive.

(2) Very visual product in terms of forecasted costs on a given project.

(3) Reporting is the best part - gather data based on team members, area of work, date range, etc.

Cons: (1) It appears there are multiple different funnels to get to the same information. These flows make the platform seem convoluted, redundant, and sometimes confusing.

(2) Invoicing UI could be improved. For example, creating and linking invoices to projects follows a seemingly arbitrary rule set.

Overall: Easy time tracking, reporting, and invoicing.

Pros: I love that you can create tasks just for you. In our company we have created our own verbiage and this lets us create tasks just for us. It is so simple to create a new project.

Cons: Creating reports based on the work that was done for the day or for a total project can be a little tricky if you are not really good at computers. It would also be nice if on the mobile app you were reminded of a past time still running or if the project manager was notified by email that there is an employee with a timer still running.

Pros: Harvest has been very helpful for our small business for keeping track of our time and money. It is simple, nicely designed, and was quickly adopted by all of our team.

Cons: We have occasionally found it to be TOO simple, and we are sometimes frustrated by timesheet approval emails being sent to seemingly random members of our team (we are unsure if this is a problem outside of our company).

Harvest is great to use as a time tracking app, especially with its integration with Asana.

Pros: - Integration with Asana (includes the Asana link for the task being tracked)
- Free option (up to 2 projects at a time)
- Downloadable report
- Ease of use
- Time tracking
- Time tracking is also editable, which is great and convenient at times
- Start and end dates for projects

Cons: - Free option only allows up to 2 projects at a time, enough for most people depending on how your tasks/projects are organized, but it'd be nice if it was 3 or 4 starting out.
- Sometimes it'd be nice to be able to reorder tasks in the time tracking section.
- If you start and then stop time tracking for a task in Asana, when you start again later, it adds it as a new time record instead of continuing from the previous time record.

Overall: Time tracking, integration with Asana, and downloadable reports are huge benefits for what I use Harvest for.

Pros: Simple tool to manage project time. It works for any person or agency that needs software to keep track of the time worked.

Harvest easily displays the detail of the time invested and you can generate reports.

Cons: In our case we could not continue to use it since we needed a software that would be integrated with our workflow (which is a bit complicated). Currently we use JIRA to take control of project incidents and although Harvest has a plugin that integrates with JIRA, we were not able to generate reports as we need it.

For teams or agencies that do not require something so specific, I'm sure it should work very well.

Overall: Time tracking, easy reporting. Clean and simple.

Pros: Easy to use on computer & friendly mobile app (for when you forget to stop time after you leave). It is easy to create new projects and log time in an organized fashion. I also like how it prompts you after you have been idle to see if you want to continue to log the time you were away.

Cons: I have the app for Mac and occasionally it will randomly stop timing or the timing will be off by a significant amount. Because of this is I try to just use the website as one source of truth. Additionally, the 'idle' message mentioned above can be annoying when in meetings for example, it would be nice to have some sort of silence or snooze

Pros: They have hands down some of the best support of any SAAS company, and for a very reasonable price tag. I almost always get same-day answers.
The basic features are very simple to use and are getting even more simple. I love that it has simple time tracking and invoicing that just work.

Cons: I wish you could style the invoices more, they look pretty bland. I also wish you could charge credit card fees to the customer automatically when they use a card (this is legal where I live in TN). And accepting e-check would be great, too. But I wouldn't be surprised if they implement some of these features, they've been requested!

Overall: Harvest allows us to easily set up projects, track budgets, and bill clients. No frills, just what you need.

Comments: Harvest is reliable, simple and comes with most of the features and reporting that I need to run my web agency. The integration with Basecamp is essential and the iphone app is a big plus. When it comes to time tracking, the simpler the better otherwise the time won't get recorded. Harvest does an excellent job on the user interface.

Pros: Interface, Ease of use, integrations

Cons: Would like more user permission options and more control over the quickbooks online integration.

Pros: The ease of use. It is very easy to navigate through and track project time to bill our clients. It is also very easy to pull reports to track hourly rates for clients and see how we are year over year. The software makes it easy to track employee time as well and allow us to keep an eye on who is not submitting time sheets properly to ensure accurate billing and time tracking for client profitability.

Cons: When looking up a specific client and adding someone to a certain project it automatically redirects you from the client listings, were are frustrating. Each time you edit one project you have to click projects to bring you back to the listings of every client and it is time consuming and i feel like there could be a much easier way to do this that is less time consuming.

Overall: Easy time tracking for clients and billing.

Pros: I like that it is simple to get started and easy to use. It is so easy, you have to put very little effort into getting started. Billing is straight forward, making estimates is a breeze and the customer service has always been top notch and responsive.

Cons: It is not for project planning, which is something that I think would be very beneficial. Especially for a services based company, I would like to see the ability to create a simple project with associates time lines, budgets and deadlines. They introduced a partner product but it wasn't as intuitive as the time keeping.

Overall: I was able to easily track the time associated with projects and invoice based on those times. It was helpful to have that information not only for the project while it was inaction, but also for archival purposes to be able to estimate future projects. We had several users that contributed to the projects so it was a good tool to see how the project had progressed.

Pros: The chrome extension makes this really easy to track the time you spend working on a particular client. With the click of a button you can select the client you are working on via a dropdown menu and you just hit 'start timer'. When you stop the timer you can also add in some extra details that are great when you're trying to report back on where your time has been spent.

When you log into the desktop version you can view week by week and day by day. You also have access to a dashboard which visually represents where you spent your time.

Cons: Sometimes you leave the timer running - it's really easy to forget that it's running in the background. You don't get a notification until the next morning and so I often have to log back in to correct my time logged.

Overall: Efficient time tracking that doesn't take much time out of your day and clear visibility on where you are spending your time.

Comments: Pros: Harvest is a very simple time sheet tool for project time reporting. Good performance, good user experience, easy to use.

Cons: Harvest has poor reporting capabilities - you cannot see Margin for a project in the reporting. This is a basic functionality of time tracking for project management. When I asked Harvest about this, the customer service agent responded "Unfortunately, there isn't currently a way in Harvest to measure profit margins on projects. I'm sorry about that! While we don't have any plans to add profitability reporting right now, it is a common request we hear"

This makes our company often question the business value of Harvest and the future of Harvest's product. I challenge Harvest's Product Management team to go back to the basics of Product Management and seriously consider features that are "common requests" from your customers AND easy to implement with the data that you already have.

Comments: Imagine you just gave one of your employees a raise. This effectively changes the cost of your employee, as well as the billable rate. In Harvest, once you change the cost, that change also effects all the historical data costs for that employee, thus throwing off all your historical data cost reports. (why the heck would it do that? how the heck do you know what your true costs are for tax purposes if all the historical data is updated too?) After you change the cost, you now need to change the billable rate too,..but wait!...not so easy. Harvest can't handle this basic accounting function either. You essentially have to duplicate your project, adjust the persons billable costs in the duplicate project, and then archive the old project,...meaning you now have 2 project codes for one job. Now imagine if you give several of your employees a raise every year(at different times within the year) and they also work on more than one project at a time,..you could essentially generate 100's of duplicate project codes, for one job. Either I am being fed bad customer support or this software is missing key features that any normal business will need for proper accounting. It frustrates the heck out of me to have this goofy work around!! :( Harvest,..if you are paying attention....update your software to accommodate employee cost and billable rate changes accurately, with an EFFECTIVE DATE and with some sense of simplicity. This forces a ton of manual work that Harvest can't calculate

Comments: Harvest is a great way to easily track hours. You can update and change any items that might need it and you are able to add different options for "what" you are tracking time under.

Pros: I love that I can integrate my Harvest account and Trello. That way I don't have to have as many different tabs open at one time. I also like that it is easy to make any edit you might need to. I love the timer and how easy it is to keep an eye on project budgets!

Cons: We track everything that we do during the day in Harvest. That can get to be a little tedious in making sure everything is correct since there is no way to organize the items outside of the time the timer was started.

Pros: It offers many tracing tools for time, money, and projects. I like that you can put the app on your browser as well as your phone for easy tracking. It is also helpful for project managers to track projects and resources.

Cons: Sometimes it can be a little clunky and hard to navigate, but otherwise retry good.

Overall: We use harvest to rack estimates, budgets, projects, employee hours, and employee time. It serves as a helpful tool for all of the above.

Comments: We use harvest for time tracking, invoicing, and estimate sending but it really offers the best bad option out there. There are too few integrations and the UI is poor.

Pros: Harvest is very easy to use and has many options to make filling out your time sheet easily. The timer is a great feature to make tracking time accurate. It's easy to view where your project is at from a billing standpoint as well.

Cons: None.

Overall: We use Harvest to track our time, mainly to track the hours we can bill to our clients. We also use it to bill invoices to clients.

Comments: We're a small, co-op designed agency that uses Harvest to track its hours. It works really well for us as many of our "employees" are contractors that draft in based on project requirements. It's really easy to use and to generate reports. Highly recommend for smaller companies or individuals that need something simple to track hours.

Comments: Harvest is not the only time tracking tool we¿ve used (also used Toggl), however, it¿s one that is intuitive and easy to get started using quick with very little effort. Our company has a number of active projects happening simultaneously and this app has help several teams within the origination stay aligned.

Comments: Web based time tracking application, completely functional but I did not find the pricing model to be a great value proposition for my small business. No longer evaluating.

Comments: Small startups will find it easy to get up and running with Harvest. Expect to start looking for more robust tools immediately upon finding some success.

Pros: Small startups will find it easy to get up and running with Harvest. Expect to start looking for more robust tools immediately upon finding some success.

Cons: Harvest is a dead simple invoicing tool, which means is not a strong accounting tool. The workflow, from billable hours to invoice to recording payment to reports is an easy way to ensure your team is getting paid, but companies who expect growth will very quickly find Harvest lacking. Harvest integrates with a lot of cloud tools, but is missing some of the newer tools out there like Wave.

Recommendations to other buyers: We have found all of our needs satisfied with an alternate, more cost effective solution.

Comments: Does an excellent job of tracking and breaking down billable hours for my work. Subliminally, it also helps to keep me focused and on task because I know that it is being tracked

Pros: I'm able to log in my hours and describe what I have been working on so I don't have to worry about writing it down anywhere. It is extremely easy to use even for nontechnical people they really tried to make the product simple and useful.

Cons: The pricing scheme isn't very flexible for casual freelance developers but for the agency setting it works perfectly.

Pros: Usability is king. We've tried so many other apps. They all look like they're from 1999. Harvest is the tool your employees will actually use.

You can track time from anywhere. Web, desktop, or mobile device. Expenses can be tracked as well.

Once the time is entered into the system, the reports in harvest are visual and actionable. You can create any type of report in Harvest, splicing the time data in the way you need it.

Invoicing is also included. As well as 50+ integrations with project management apps like Basecamp and accounting apps like Quickbooks and Xero.

They are constantly adding new features and these are updated automatically. No need to install, upgrade, or maintain a homegrown solution in house. And so much better than Excel.

Cons: The invoices could be more customizable than they are right now.

The PDF versions of the reports could look a bit better.

Overall: A great time tracking and reporting tool for your team. Harvest has become indispensable at our company. Its streamlined our workflow, allowing us to work on more projects efficiently and operate more closely to our budgetary goals.

Probably one of the best Project Management & Billing Tools

Comments: Harvest is for me one of the best online billing services that I have seen so far. Everything is so easy when using it! I mainly use it for project management but the billing function is excellent as well. It allows you to manage unlimited projects. You can assign employees and contractors and you can track the time and apply that time to your project.

Pros: It integrates with Basecamp

Cons: At the beginning I found it a little bit too difficult to use, I am not a very technical person.
