Pros Harvest is great for keeping track of time spent working on projects and submitting them to company for adjusting time for clients. Cons No easy way of logging time. I wish there was an integration with Google Calendar or another tool that could automatically log my projects, emails, and calendar events. Review Source HC Heather C. There's no watching the clock or writing down my time, so I feel more focused on my work than my time. Being able to leave notes allows me to see how my time was being used and make any necessary changes if need be. Pros The start timer button makes it so much easier to track time without having to write down start and stop times or guess how long I've been working on a project. It's my favorite feature! Being able to copy my recent timesheet to a new day makes it easy to get the day started, because I know my day to day is already there when I need it. Cons Occasionally there are little bugs, as with any software. For example, sometimes my timer starts at -0:01, but it's easy to adjust. Its a full package of project management. Workflow is simple and less time to learn. Pros I joint harvest for its time tracking ability and found it has a lot of things to offer. The first things it asked me is to populate a demo project. I was really surprised and agreed to import a demo project to see its capabilities. I am very impressed with the demo project which I can get an idea about my workflow. The time tracking is good and googles chrome browser extension helps me to work from every environment. I am now learning all the projects management for me and my colleges as this is a vital alternative to our current application. After the first login, it gives you the option to learn about workflow and application from the link which is a good and smart choice. Cons I am currently testing and didn't find that is a dealbreaker. Harvest has its own workflow and I have to learn it, which if I don't use this in the future will be a waste of time. However, it's pricey compared to competitors and doesn't offer enough features to make it worthwhile. Pros Harvest makes tracking time very easy for our employees to input and for managers to review and approve. We've used Harvest for tracking production hours for projects as well as working hours for payroll. It's a very handy tool and is really easy to use. Cons The price seemed a bit steep considering it's a fairly simple tool. It does provide some features, but overall, it really only has one main function, and the price reflected a much more sophisticated software. " April 10, 2018 5.0 Easily track time, review time sheets and time spent on projects. Pros I love that you can start and stop the clock when you're working on projects. Previously I used Quickbooks and had to enter my time after I finished a project, or keep track of the time and add it to the project later. Harvest's functionality allows me to keep better track of my time. Cons It would be nice to have a feature where you can request access to projects. Other than that, I have no cons for Harvest. Pros Harvest is great in terms of integrating clocking in & clocking out with a stopwatch system, making it great for both intervals of indeterminate work and for set blocks. It's easy to use and to submit your timesheets. The timesheets are also easy to read and the interface is quite modern and clean, which is very pleasant. It's also nice that you can select categories for what you were doing, as well as put in any notes for each chunk of time logged. A lot of timesheet software just lets you send notes with your submitted timesheet, which means a lot of referring to blocks after the fact. Harvest makes it more straightforward. I also like that you can type in your start and end time because drop down menus are a hassle. Cons I can't think of anything. I either use the Chrome tool or the Asana integrated tool. You can simply track the hours you spent for each tasks that you have worked on using Harvest. It's very simple and nothing fancy. It also notifies you via email your team spent more time than the hours set for a certain project. Cons Adding a screenshot feature will be very helpful to improve the tool. Here's why: – They have a very good Mac app that is being actively developed, – The overall quality of the software is high and it's very reliable, – The free tier allows you to have 2 active projects, – Good for simple time tracking of your team, – Allows you to track expenses, – Provides detailed reports, – Does one thing and it does it really well. Cons – The design works, but is a bit dated, – I'd love the ability to track time on my watch, but their Apple Watch app has been discontinued, – I don't find the iOS app very useful. Pros It's definitely a nice looking tool and with a very clean UI that will allow anyone to get it right the first time. As a user I find very convient that I can download a mobile app and track time while I'm out of the office. For what I understand this tool has integrations with Parallax and Slack and that's why my Employer decided to switch to it. Cons So far I haven't found anything annoying about Harvest. Pros I used an alternate software before harvest which took screen shots which caused issues as I was running solid works. Harvest ran a lot smoother in the background having no issues on my PC or smart phone. Also generating invoices was a great bonus as I was having to generate my own via google sheets. I only started to use it in my new job and I had used other time management systems before but I always found that I never actually bothered to fill it out as I could just assign a block of hours to a project where as now I can assign 30 minutes to budgeting, research, meetings all within one project, giving a more accurate measurement of time spent. It also links with your google or outlook and you can automatically add all your calendar items such a meetings into your time that day, really handy feature Cons I dont have any cons, it works exactly as I need it. Harvest accomplishes that and more with a simple start/stop timer next to each project line item. The best part is that you can go back and edit your time in case you left it running or needed to log some unaccounted for hours. Would definitely recommend! Pros This software is extremely user friendly and easy to deploy. Upon activating my account, I was up and tracking time within minutes. Every aspect was very easy to understand. Cons I have not found a flaw as of yet, but if I were to suggest anything it would be to have a simple widget in the corner of my screen in which I can easily see where I'm at on logging time without having to minimize or move a window out of the way. Makes it easier for Engineers to input their time, and manager to view in real-time. Pros Easy to use and customize. I also implemented the use of Harvest forecast which links with Harvest in order to help estimate utilization of our engineers. Prior to using Harvest, our time tracking process was very manual, and this has really made it so much easier. Cons There are lots of features that I'd love to be able to customize, such as budget overages (automatically being marked as non-billable).
